First Reformed Church, also known as the First Reformed United Church of Christ, is a historic Reformed church located at 22 E. Center Street in Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Herbert B. Hunter and built in 1927–1928. It is a steel frame building sheathed in tapestry brick, with a Late Gothic Revival style interior. It features a pair of corner towers of uneven height, pointed-arched portal, and a stone and stained glass rose window.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Uptown Lexington Historic District is a national historic district located at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 52 contributing buildings, 3 contributing sites, and 1 contributing object in the central business district of Lexington. It includes commercial and governmental buildings built between 1824 and 1946. Located in the district is the separately listed Old Davidson County Courthouse. Other notable buildings include the former United States Post Office (1911-1912), Raper Building (c. 1907), Moffitt Building (1920s), Smith-Thompson Block (1900), the Development Building (c. 1905), the Buchanan-Siceloff Building (1923-1929), the Hinkle Block (1902-1907), the Hankins Building (1902), Hedrick's Hall (1902), and the Earnhardt Building (1923-1929).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Grace Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at 419 S. Main Street in Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1902, and is a one-story, Late Gothic Revival style red brick building. It features a steeply pitched gable roof, lancet-arched doors and windows, buttresses, a front corner bell tower, and a three-part stained-glass window produced by Tiffany Studios in 1918.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The Old Davidson County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1858, and is a two-story, gable front stuccoed stone temple-form building. It features a prostyle hexastyle portico, with fluted Roman Corinthian order columns. Above the portico is an octagonal clock tower. It was remodeled in 1918. Most county offices moved to a new courthouse built in 1959.The building houses the Davidson County Historical Museum and was rededicated in 2014.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. It is located in the Uptown Lexington Historic District.

Dr. William Rainey Holt House, also known as The Homestead, is a historic home located at 408 South Main Street Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina.

Grimes Brothers Mill, also known as Lexington Roller Mill and Excelsior Mill, is a historic flour mill located at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built about 1885, and is a four-story brick building with a basement. It measures approximately 34 feet by 40 feet and has a shallow-pitched shed roof. The mill remained in operation until about 1960, and the building was converted to bank use in the early 1960s.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

John Henry Welborn House was a historic home located at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built about 1870, and was a two-story, Italianate style frame I-house dwelling. It had a two-story rear wing and "L"-configuration. It was remodeled in the Neo-Classical style around the turn of the 20th century. Also on the property was a contributing smokehouse. The house has been demolished. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Pigs in the City is a public art initiative coordinated by Uptown Lexington, Inc., a non-profit organization created to revitalize the downtown (or locally called "uptown") area of Lexington. It includes a near annual event held in the fall in the uptown business district of Lexington, North Carolina, U.S., the self-proclaimed Barbecue Capital of the World. It is part of a larger downtown revitalization effort which has gained significant media attention due its unusual artistic display of full-size ornamental pigs and draws visitors from all over North Carolina. The event is free to the public.

The district encompasses 804 contributing buildings, 1 contributing site, and 1 contributing structure in a predominantly residential section of Lexington. They were built between about 1854 and 1957, and include notable examples of Queen Anne and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. The subdivisions in the district are Park Place, Robbins Heights, Courtenay, Rosemary Park, Hillcrest, Oak Crest, and Westover Heights; along with the Lexington City Cemetery. Notable buildings include Hillside (1854), Brookshire House (1900), Wennonah Mill houses (1910), N. Earl and Daphne Rose House (c. 1920), Charles M. and Jean Wall House (c. 1926), Parkview Apartments (c. 1927, 1930), Lexington Shirt Corporation Factory/Hulin Lumber Company (c. 1927, 1955), and Nicholson Supermarket (c. 1951).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Lexington Memorial Hospital is a historic hospital building located at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Charles C. Hartmann in a mix of Art Deco and Art Moderne styles. It was built in 1946, and is a large masonry T-shaped building sheathed in yellow brick, three and four stories tall and 17 bays wide. It has a one-story addition on the east end and a 1958 one-story addition off the rear wing.Lexington's first hospital, 30-bed Davidson Hospital, was built in 1924 on North Main Street in the location that later became Char's Restaurant. Significant growth over the next 20 years led to the decision to buy 11 acres on Lexington's east side for a new hospital on Weaver Drive. $400,000 was raised and the new 60-bed Lexington Memorial Hospital opened December 24, 1946. Additions included a nurses' residence in 1949. By 1958, the hospital had 98 beds and 20 bassinets. Further additions were made in 1966, 1971 and 1972, but by 1977, the building could no longer be expanded in the Weaver Drive location. Groundbreaking was held for a third location on the 75-acre Alma Grubb Estate next to Business 85 south of downtown. With the opening of a 94-bed 119,000-square-foot facility in September 1979, the Weaver Drive building was sold to provide housing for the elderly. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Grimes School is a historic school building located at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina. It was built in 1935–1936, and is a two-story, T-shaped, Colonial Revival style brick building. It features large windows, an entrance portico with Ionic order fluted columns, and a large octagonal cupola. Some funding for school construction was provided by the Public Works Administration.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
