The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music and Dance is a biannual music and dance festival in the United States, held on the first Thursday thru Sunday in May and October in Pittsboro, North Carolina. The festival takes place on a 75-acre (300,000 m2) venue which is managed by Shakori Hills Community Arts Center Inc. (SHCAC), a nonprofit organization. The festival supports the music and art programs of the SHCAC. It is associated with and modeled after the larger Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival that takes place near Trumansburg, New York each summer. The spring festival started in April 2003 and the fall festival was launched in 2004.

Northwest District Park is a public park in Chatham County, North Carolina in the United States, operated by the Chatham County Parks and Recreation Department.Amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, lake with rental paddle boats, multipurpose field for soccer, ultimate, football, rugby, and other field sports, youth activity building, picnic pavilions, restrooms, outdoor basketball court, reception/meeting building with lake view, playground, 1 mile walking trail, and parking. The trail winds through mature hardwood forests. Events include a Summer Camp: A week-long, full-day summer camp for ages 5-14, and movies in the park.

It was built about 1850, and is a two-story, three bay vernacular Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It features a low hipped roof and one-story porch. The house is almost identical to the nearby William P. Its ZIP Code is 27344.According to oral history, the name came from an early 19th-century enterprise to develop a silk industry here. Entrepreneurs imported silk worms and planted mulberry trees, but were not successful. No signs remain of the silk ambitions. Farmers in the area also cultivated cotton in the antebellum years, and used a local cotton gin that once stood at the Silk Hope crossroads. Due to soil limitations, they could not produce much of the commodity crop. Community residents come together each Labor Day to celebrate their heritage at the "Silk Hope Old Fashioned Farmers Day". The Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival held nearby has attracted more than 4,500 people.The DeGraffenreidt-Johnson House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Camilus McBane House is a historic home located near Snow Camp, Alamance County, North Carolina. The house consists of two log buildings: a one-story, single-room log kitchen and a one-story with loft hall-and-parlor plan log house built about 1850. It was expanded in 1892 by a one-room frame side addition.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Baldwin's Mill is a historic grist mill and national historic district located near Pittsboro, Chatham County, North Carolina. The district encompasses one contributing building and three contributing structures. The mill was probably built by 1807, is a 1 1/2- to 2+1⁄2-story, heavy timber-framed structure approximately 30 feet by 40 feet. Associated with the mill are the mill dam, and mill and tail races. The property also includes a stretch of roadbed dates to about 1820, a blacksmith's shop site (c. 1880), and two log cabins (c. 1830) moved to the property in 1975. The mill ceased operation in the late 1920s. It was restored to working order in 1941.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Aspen Hall is a historic plantation house located near Pittsboro, Chatham County, North Carolina. The original section was built in the 1790s, and took its present form between about 1830 and 1840. It is a two-story, weatherboarded gable roofed Federal style frame house, with a Greek Revival style facade. It was built by Joseph John "Chatham Jack" Alston, who enslaved as many as 163 people and also built the nearby Alston-DeGraffenried Plantation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.See Elias Hall for a description of who built this house.
