Seefelder Spitze

The Reither Spitze is a mountain in the Karwendel in the Austrian federal state of Tyrol that, thanks to its location at the southwestern end of the Erlspitze Group, is particularly well known for its great views of the surrounding area from its summit. Its name is derived the village of Reith bei Seefeld, which lies at its southwestern foot. The Schlossbach, a tributary of the River Inn, rises on the mountainside.

The Erlspitze Group (German: Erlspitzgruppe), also called the Seefeld Group, is the southwesternmost side range of the Austrian part of the Karwendel mountains in the Alps. It forms a horseshoe-shaped highland around the valley of Eppzirler Tal and is joined in the south to the Nordkette by the Erl Saddle (Erlsattel) near Solsteinhaus. It is bounded in the west by the Seefeld Basin, in the east by the valleys of the Gleirschtal and the Großes Kristental; its forested northern foothills reach as far as Scharnitz. Unlike the four main ranges of the Karwendel, the Erlspitze Group is made of Main Dolomite. Typical of this rock are bizarre weathering forms, like towers, pinnacles and sharply formed arêtes as well as rock arches and caves as a consequence of the rapid erosion of individual rock strata. Its valley bases are Hochzirl, Reith, Seefeld and Scharnitz, all of which are on the Innsbruck-Mittenwald section of the Mittenwald Railway. Two alpine club huts act as bases for tours in the area of the Erlspitze Group: in the west is the Nördlinger Hut and, in the south, is the Solsteinhaus. In the northern part of the Erlspitze Group are two huts open in summer: the Oberbrunnalm and, in the Eppzirler Tal, the Eppzirler Alm. The Nördlinger Hut (German: Nördlinger Hütte) is an Alpine Club hut belonging to the German Alpine Club that is situated at a height of 2,238 m (AA) south of the summit of the Reither Spitze in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is thus the highest refuge hut in the entire Karwendel range. It is located in the westernmost part of the Karwendel Alps, the Erlspitze Group, above the village and ski resort of Seefeld. From the hut there are expansive views over the Stubai Alps, the Inn valley and the Wetterstein Mountains.

The Schlossbach is a river of Tyrol, Austria, a left tributary of the Inn. The Schlossbach rises below the Reither Spitze in the municipality of Reith bei Seefeld and flows in a north to south direction. After around 1.5 km (0.93 mi) it collects the river Grieskarbach from the left. In its upper reaches is a gorge, the Schlossbachklamm (location: 47.297059°N 11.238778°E / 47.297059; 11.238778). This is traversed at a height of 60 metres (200 ft) by the Schlossbach Bridge which carries the track of the Mittenwald Railway. The railway bridge is a 66-metre-long (217 ft), trussed arch structure made of steel and a popular photograph subject. After emerging from the narrow gorge into the Inn valley, the Schlossbach flows through Zirl and empties into the Inn southwest of the village. Together with the Ehnbach further east, it has pushed the Inn southwards and piled up the alluvial fan on which Zirl has been built.

The Härmelekopf is a mountain northeast of Seefeld in Tirol in the Karwendel Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is 2,224 metres high.

The Rauenkopf, also Rauchenkopf, is a mountain northeast of Reith bei Seefeld in the Karwendel Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is 2,011 metres high.

The Freiungspitzen (plural) are a group of 3 peaks in the Erlspitze Group in the Karwendel Alps on the territory of the Austrian municipality of Zirl. The highest summit, the west top, has a height of 2,332 m (AA), the middle top is 2,322 m (AA) and the east top is 2,302 m (AA).

Schlossberg Castle (German: Burg Schlossberg) is a ruined toll castle in the municipality of Seefeld in Tirol in the district of Innsbruck Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol.

The Kuhljochspitze is a mountain, 2,297 m (AA) high, in the Erlspitze Group in the Karwendel Alps in Austria.

The Seefeld Saddle (German: Seefelder Sattel) is a saddle and mountain pass, 1,185 m (AA), in the Northern Limestone Alps in the Austrian federal state of Tyrol. Two major transport routes run over it: the Seefelder Straße (B 177) and the Mittenwald Railway. On the Seefeld Plateau north of the saddle lies the village and ski resort of Seefeld in Tirol (1,180 m (AA)).

The Seefeld Plateau (German: Seefelder Plateau) is a montane valley and basin landscape in the North Tyrolean Limestone Alps about 500 metres above the Inn valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol. The plateau covers the valley basin around the villages of Seefeld in Tirol and Scharnitz as well as the valley of Leutaschtal.

Reith bei Seefeld is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol located 12.3 km northwest of Innsbruck and 3 km south of Seefeld in Tirol. The village was founded in 1350. At that time stone oil (=petroleum) was found and is used for healing purposes until now.
