Quincy Canal

The Quincy Electric Light and Power Company Station is a historic power station at 76 Field Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. Built in 1902, it is a well-preserved example of industrial Colonial Revival architecture executed in brick. It housed a coal-fired plant until 1920, and now serves as a local power substation. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Quincy Point is a neighborhood of Quincy, Massachusetts. "The Point" is generally defined as the land east of Quincy Center, the downtown district. Quincy Point is bordered on the west by Elm Street, on the east by Weymouth Fore River and the Braintree city line, on the north by Town River and on the south by Quincy Avenue. The Quincy Police Station is located at 1 Sea Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The original three-story yellow brick Classical Revival structure was designed by the local firm of Clark, Batty and Gallagher, and built in 1925 for $75,000. It is the city's first purpose-built police station. It has only modest styling, including brick pilasters separating its window bays, and a simple cornice topped by a parapet which has a raised section containing the city seal. The building has had a modern addition made to it. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Solon Dogget House is a historic house at 50 Union Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1872 by Henry G. Pratt, who sold it to Solon Dogget, a poet and artist. It is a well-preserved local example of Second Empire style, with a mansard roof, patterned shingling on the walls, and Queen Anne porches with spindled friezes and turned posts. It has Stick style bracketing on the door hoods.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Navy Operational Support Center Quincy is a United States Navy Reserve support center located in Quincy, Massachusetts. It was re-opened per the recommendations of the 1995 Base Realignment and Closure Commission, after being recommended for closure by the 1993 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.

The Hardwick House is a historic house at 59–61 Spear Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in 1850s, and is one of the city's largest Greek Revival houses. Its massing, with side-gable roof, is more typical of the Federal period, but it has corner pilasters, a full entablature, and pedimented gables. The main entry has full-length side lights and is topped by an entablature. The house was built by Franklin Hardwick, owner of a local granite business.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Baxter Street Historic District is a residential historic district roughly at 19-34 Baxter Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. It encompasses an enclave of four duplex worker housing units of a type called the "Quincy Cottage", which were built in the 1880s for workers in a locally important shoe manufacturing company. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Seth Spear Homestead is a historic house at 47-49 Spear Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built c. 1850 by either Thomas Drake or Seth Spear, who purchased Drake's property. Spear was one of the largest landowners in the immediate area. The house is a fairly typical Greek Revival structure, although it has had a large ell added to the rear (sometime before 1876), and its front portico dates to the 1890s. It now has 5 units rented out.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Edward Miller House is a historic house at 36 Miller Stile Road in Quincy, Massachusetts. This two-story wood-frame house was built in the 1830s by Edward Miller, a local veteran of the American Revolutionary War. The house is a well-preserved Federal style structure, despite having experienced significant alterations c. 1912, when it was used as an inn, and in 1960, when it housed the offices of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Quincy ( KWIN-zee) is a coastal U.S. city in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, United States. It is the largest city in the county and a part of Metropolitan Boston as one of Boston's immediate southern suburbs. Its population in 2020 was 101,636, making it the seventh-largest city in the state. Known as the "City of Presidents", Quincy is the birthplace of two U.S. presidents—John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams—as well as John Hancock (a President of the Continental Congress and the first signer of the Declaration of Independence) and the first and third Governor of Massachusetts. First settled in 1625, Quincy was briefly part of Dorchester before becoming the north precinct of Braintree in 1640. In 1792, Quincy was split off from Braintree; the new town was named after Colonel John Quincy, maternal grandfather of Abigail Adams and after whom John Quincy Adams was also named. Quincy became a city in 1888. For more than a century, Quincy was home to a thriving granite industry; the city was also the site of the Granite Railway, the United States' first commercial railroad. Shipbuilding at the Fore River Shipyard was another key part of the city's economy. In the 20th century, both Howard Johnson's and Dunkin' Donuts were founded in the city.

The Dr. Frank Davis House is a historic house at 25 Elm Street in Quincy, Massachusetts. The 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame house was built in the 1890s by a local doctor. It is one of the city's best-preserved Shingle style houses, complete with a period carriage (although it has been altered to accommodate automobiles). The house's front facade features a large gable that sweeps down to the first floor level, with decorative cut shingles at the upper levels, and bay window sections joined by arched woodwork.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Quincy High School (QHS) is a public secondary school located on Coddington Street in Quincy, Massachusetts, United States. It doubles as one of two high schools in the city of Quincy and as the vocational center. Quincy's mascot is known as the 'Presidents' and their school colors are Blue & White.
