Slate Fell

Watch Hill is a small hill lying on the north-western fringe of the Lake District in England. The name Setmurthy Common is sometimes used (including by Alfred Wainwright in his book The Outlying Fells of Lakeland) to refer to the area including the highest point, with "Watch Hill" describing the area to the west of the summit. It should not be confused with another Watch Hill some 19 km to the south-west, near Whitehaven, which is only 172 m (564 ft) high. The name "The Hay" is also used when referring to the area west of the summit. Despite its low height (just 833 feet) it is a Marilyn (a hill with topographic prominence of at least 150m) because of the large height separation from its neighbours. This 'detachedness' means that it is an excellent viewpoint. Skiddaw, Blencathra, the Lord's Seat group and Grisedale Pike are all seen, and there is a first-class view of the Cockermouth area and the Solway Coast AONB. The hill is a popular climb with Cockermouth folk, along with its lower neighbour Slate Fell. Wainwright recommends an ascent from the west and a return on the same route. He comments that "It is easily attained with a minimum of effort: a stroll on grass so simple that boots are incongruous footwear for it and bare feet appropriate".

Cockermouth School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Cockermouth in the English county of Cumbria.Previously a community school administered by Cumbria County Council, Cockermouth School converted to academy status in September 2015. However the school continues to coordinate with Cumbria County Council for admissions.

Embleton railway station was situated on the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway between Penrith and Cockermouth in Cumberland (now in Cumbria), England. The station served the village of Embleton. The station opened to passenger traffic on 2 January 1865, and closed on 15 September 1958.Two camping coaches were positioned here by the London Midland Region in 1954.All trace of the station building has gone although the Station Master's house survives as a private residence on the side of the A66.

Armaside is an agricultural village in Cumbria, England, situated north of Low Lorton, south west of the River Cocker, and south east from Cockermouth - grid reference NY151275. The village consists of Armaside, Armaside Farm, Armaside Howe, and High Armaside. There is a local business dealing with wind turbines and other forms of renewable energy.

Embleton is a small village and civil parish located in the Allerdale district in Cumbria, England. It is located east of Cockermouth on the A66 road, and within the boundaries of the Lake District National Park. As of the 2001 census the parish had a population of 297, reducing slightly to 294 at the 2011 Census.Embleton railway station opened in 1865, on the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway, and was closed by British Rail in 1958 although the railway through the village survived until 1966. The trackbed has now been used for the route of the A66 road. Sometime around 1854 a schoolmaster digging in commonland at Embleton came across a hoard of weapons dating to the 1st century AD, the transition between the Late Iron Age and Early Roman period. It comprised three iron spearheads and two swords, one of which was in a decorated copper-alloy scabbard. The latter object can now be seen in the British Museum

Redmain is a small hamlet in the Isel Valley and parish of Blindcrake within the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. The hamlet lies on the south-facing slopes above the River Derwent, in an elevated position of 475 feet (145 m), giving panoramas across the Isel Valley and Lake District Fells. Nearby are the hamlets of Isel and Sunderland and the village of Blindcrake. The hamlet is just under four miles north-east of Cockermouth, off the old Roman road to Carlisle (A595). It is 12 miles from Keswick and, along the A66, it is 29 miles from the M6 motorway at Penrith.

Isel Hall is an ancient Cumbrian residence that sits on a steep rise on the northern banks of the River Derwent, two miles (3.2 km) south of Bassenthwaite Lake, three miles (4.8 km) east-north-east of Cockermouth, with views over the Lake District fells and Skiddaw. It was once the home of the Lawson family and is a grade I listed building.

Cockermouth Castle (grid reference NY123309) is in the town of Cockermouth in Cumbria on a site by the junction of the Rivers Cocker and Derwent. It is a grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Cockermouth is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so named because it is at the confluence of the River Cocker as it flows into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census estimates state that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, increasing to 8,761 at the 2011 Census.Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is situated outside the English Lake District on its northwest fringe. Much of the architectural core of the town remains unchanged since the basic medieval layout was filled in the 18th and 19th centuries. The regenerated market place is now a central historical focus within the town and reflects events from its 800-year history. The town is prone to flooding and experienced severe floods in 2005, 2009, and 2015.

Cockermouth Town Hall is a municipal structure in Market Street, Cockermouth, Cumbria, England. The structure, which is the meeting place of Cockermouth Town Council, is a Grade II listed building.

St Michael's Church is located by the side of the River Derwent in the dispersed settlement of Isel, in the civil parish of Blindcrake, Cumbria, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Derwent, the archdeaconry of West Cumberland, and the diocese of Carlisle. Its benefice is united with those of nine local churches to form the benefice of Binsey. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.

The Old Courthouse is a former judicial building on Main Street in Cockermouth in Cumbria in England. The building, which is currently vacant, is a Grade II listed building.
