North Union Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 150 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section of Concord. The area developed after 1870 and includes notable examples of Greek Revival and Late Victorian style architecture. Located in the district are the First Presbyterian Church, the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, Forest Hill Methodist Church, the First Baptist Church, the (Former) All Saints Episcopal Church, and the First United Presbyterian Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Concord ( KON-KORD) is the county seat and most populous city in Cabarrus County, in the U.S. state of North Carolina. At the 2020 census, the city had a population of 105,240. In terms of population, the city of Concord is the second-most populous city in the Charlotte metropolitan area and is the 10th-most populous city in North Carolina and 287th-most populous city in the U.S.The city was a winner of the All-America City Award in 2004. Located near the center of Cabarrus County in the Piedmont region, it is 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Uptown Charlotte. Hotel Concord at Union Street N. and Cabarrus Avenue in Concord, North Carolina was completed in 1926 and is a contributing structure to the Union Street North–Cabarrus Avenue Commercial Historic District. The 46,536-square-foot building is the largest historic property in Cabarrus County, North Carolina and the second-largest privately owned building in downtown Concord.Concord National Bank (later First Charter Bank) moved to the newly built Hotel Concord, a six-story Beaux Arts Classical Revival building with arch windows, "faced with ashlar limestone ornamented with classical motifs", designed by William Lee Stoddart.Union Street Corporation approved the sale of the hotel to Rehab Development in February 2016. The city of Concord agreed to buy properties that were previously part of Fifth Third Bank and planned to donate those to Rehab Development.In December 2016, work began on the $5.3 million Rehab Development project which included the hotel, the First Charter Bank building, and the Concord Telephone Company building on Cabarrus Avenue. The hotel was converted to 40 apartments on the four upper floors and seven commercial spaces, including an event venue, which was already being used, that included the ballroom, kitchen, lobby and part of the basement.The View at Hotel Concord began leasing apartments June 1, and Union Street Market opened on the hotel's ground floor in July 2018.

Union Street North–Cabarrus Avenue Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 14 contributing buildings in the central business district of Concord. It primarily includes commercial buildings in popular architectural styles including Beaux-Arts style architecture. Located in the district are the Bell and Harris-Maxwell Brothers Furniture Store (1921–1924), Yorke and Wadsworth Company Warehouse (1908–1911), Lippard and Barrier Grocery (1908–1911), Concord National Bank and Hotel Concord (1926), Star Theatre (c. 1890; 1913–1920), Cannon Building and Concord Theatre (1920–1924; 1925), and Horton Building–Commerce and Merchants Building (1952).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Barber–Scotia College is a private unaccredited historically black college in Concord, North Carolina. It began as a seminary in 1867 before becoming a college in 1916. It is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).

South Union Street Courthouse and Commercial Historic District is a national historic district located at Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 11 contributing buildings in the central business district of Concord. It primarily includes commercial buildings in popular architectural styles including Italianate, Romanesque Revival, and Second Empire style architecture. Located in the district are the Elks Hall (c. 1905), former Town Hall (c. 1885), G. W. Patterson Wholesale Grocery (c. 1890), Pythian Building (c. 1903), Watch Repair Shop (early 1930s), and former Cabarrus Savings Bank (1923-1924). Also in the district is the separately listed former Cabarrus County Courthouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

The historic Cabarrus County Courthouse in Concord, North Carolina was completed in 1876, replacing one that was destroyed by fire just the previous year. It was designed by architect G.S.H. Appleget. It includes Second Empire, Italianate, Classical Revival, and other architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. In 1975, a new courthouse was built; the historic courthouse is now the home of the Cabarrus County Veterans Museum and the Cabarrus Arts Council. It is located in the South Union Street Courthouse and Commercial Historic District. Cabarrus County has constructed four courthouses since the creation of the county in 1792. The records show that the first court held for the county of Cabarrus was at the house of Robert Russell located on the Salisbury Road on the third Monday of January, 1793. In 1795 commissioners were named to build the first courthouse; it was very small, only thirty feet square, poorly lit and ventilated and inadequately heated. It was built at the center of the square which was the intersection of Union and Corban Streets; this structure was used for thirty years until a new courthouse was constructed in 1826.

Concord High School is a public high school in Concord, North Carolina, United States. First opened on September 2, 1895 (one session held in fall 1893), it is the oldest public high school in Cabarrus County and one of the oldest extant in North Carolina. It became part of Cabarrus County Schools in 1983 when Concord City Schools merged with the county school system. It is also a half regular high school and half IB high school

Atrium Health Cabarrus (formerly Cabarrus Memorial Hospital, later NorthEast Medical Center, Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast and Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast) is a 457-bed, acute-care, teaching hospital located in Concord, North Carolina, United States. Founded in 1937 by Charles A. Cannon and George Batte, Jr. during the Great Depression as Cabarrus County Hospital, the hospital has continued to expand. Today it serves most of Cabarrus County as a regional hospital. On December 16, 2006, Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast opened the new Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital in the Clinical Services building.In early 2007, The Pavilion was completed, featuring the newly expanded Batte Cancer Center (a partner with Levine Cancer Institute) and Sanger Heart & Vascular. The Cabarrus College of Health Sciences is also on the campus.

The district developed after 1880 and includes notable examples of Late Victorian and Bungalow / American Craftsman style residences.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Cabarrus College of Health Sciences is a private college for healthcare professions on the campus of Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, North Carolina. It is affiliated with Atrium Health, an integrated, nonprofit health system with more than 70,000 employees serving patients at 40 hospitals and more than 1,400 care locations. Cabarrus College offers a mix of on-campus, online, and hybrid programs including one- to four-year programs for those who are new to healthcare and bachelor's and master's degrees for healthcare professionals seeking advanced study. It is the fastest-growing, least expensive private college in North Carolina and offers generous institutional aid for new students through its Cabarrus Cares Scholarship. Established in 2021, the Cabarrus Cares Scholarship covers up to 100% of tuition and general fees for high school seniors from North Carolina who enroll full time directly from high school and demonstrate financial need. In August 2022, the college launched the Cabarrus Health Sciences Institute (CHSI), an early college high school. CHSI was developed in partnership with the Cabarrus County School system and Atrium Health.

Concord Academy, formerly named Concord First Assembly Academy (CFA Academy, styled as "cfa Academy") and First Assembly Christian School, is a private college preparatory Christian school in Concord, North Carolina. It was founded in 1976 as a part of the ministry of First Assembly Worship Center (now Multiply Church). Continuing a close relationship with its home church, First Assembly Christian School became known as CFA Academy in 2013 and then Concord Academy in 2020. It offers pre-school daycare through 12th grade, with about 700 students. In 2014, 120 churches were represented within the student body. The students come from surrounding cities such as Concord, Kannapolis, and Charlotte, and neighboring counties including Cabarrus, Rowan, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Stanly and Union County.
