Wheal Vor was a metalliferous mine about 2 miles (3.2 km) north west of Helston and 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the village of Breage in the west of Cornwall, England, UK. It is considered to be part of the Mount's Bay mining district. Until the mid-19th century the mine was known for its willingness to try out new innovations. Although very rich in copper and tin ores, the mine never lived up to its expectations. During the later part of the 19th century it had several periods of closure, with an attempt to reopen it in the 1960s which was not successful mainly because of bureaucracy. Today the site is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape.

The ward population at the Census 2011 had increased to 4,757. Breage civil parish had a population increase to 3181.Breage is named after Saint Breaca, a missionary from Ireland (to whom the 15th-century church is dedicated) and it is in the former Kerrier District.

Tregonning Hill is the westerly of two granite hills overlooking Mount's Bay in west Cornwall, United Kingdom, the other being Godolphin Hill. They are approximately 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) west of the town of Helston. The Plymouth chemist William Cookworthy mixed china stone with kaolin, mined from the hill to make Plymouth porcelain in 1768; which was the first time hard-paste porcelain was made in Britain. Part of the hill is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and at the date of notification (1994) was the only known site of western rustwort (Marsupella profunda) in Great Britain.

Breaney Methodist chapel is a Methodist chapel in the village of Breage, near Helston, Cornwall, UK. The chapel is on Trewithick road in Breage, past the school. It was built in 1829 for and by the Miners of Breage. There were many other chapels in Breage parish (all of them turned into houses except one which is now a social club). The chapel is listed as of having architectural merit and must be painted white as it is a marker for fishermen in the bay. It was officially called Troon Methodist chapel until 1992 when the name changed to Breaney. Breaney was the name chosen by the uniting congregations of Breage and Sithney obviously taking half of each name! In 1992 the chapel was renovated with a new first floor worship area, new seating, new carpets, new paint, a new organ and more whilst key features such as the gallery pews and plaster columns were retained. In 2016 the future of the chapel was questioned in a rationalisation process by The Lizard & Mounts bay Methodist circuit. After much prayer and discussion the fellowship are seeking new ways to serve the community and share the love of God. The Methodist chapel originally had a very old, mainly wood pipe organ which was fitted in the organ loft but in 1992 the organ was taken out and replaced by an electronic organ. There is an Ordnance Survey benchmark on the bottom wall of the chapel on a corner.

Godolphin Cross (Cornish: Krows Hirlan) is a village in the former Kerrier District of west Cornwall, England. It is in the civil parish of Breage, midway between the towns of Hayle and Helston.Godolphin Cross is in an upland area, part of a geological formation known as the Tregonning-Godolphin Granite. The term refers to the plateau of high ground in this area, one of five granite batholiths in Cornwall (see Geology of Cornwall). One mile west of the village, Godolphin Hill rises to 162 metres (531 ft).The Godolphin Estate is near the village. It is now completely owned by the National Trust, and is undergoing extensive renovation. The whole estate and surrounding woodlands are once again open to the public, who were excluded from most of the estate by the former owners. Godolphin Primary School serves children from 4 to 11 years and had a roll of 82 children in November 2021. It received a good Ofsted report in June 2015.The Church of St John the Baptist is now redundant. It was designed by James Piers St Aubyn and built in 1849–50. In 2006, an application was received by Kerrier District Council to convert the church into a private dwelling.There is a Cornish cross in the churchyard. In 1886 it was moved to the churchyard, having been found in use as a gatepost on the Chytodden estate.In June 2017 the village hall was saved by a gift from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emir of Dubai, after villagers pointed out to him the historic link between their village and Francis Godolphin, 2nd Earl of Godolphin, who bred from the legendary Godolphin Arabian, one of three stallions from which all thoroughbreds are descended. The Sheikh is head of the global Godolphin horse racing empire. The building was formerly the Methodist Chapel and school room. The chapel organ came from another Methodist chapel in 1936. Built by H P Dicker of Exeter in the 1890s, it has been preserved. It was taken down and moved to storage at The Cornish Heritage Collection at Poldark Mine Museum six miles away. It is due to be erected later in 2018 so that it can be played along with several other Methodist Chapel organs already at the museum.

Ashton (Cornish: Trevonnen) is a village in the civil parish of Breage, west Cornwall, England, UK at OS grid ref SW604286. It is on the A394 Penzance – Helston road one mile north-east of Praa Sands.A Mission Church designed by James Piers St Aubyn was dedicated by George Wilkinson (Bishop of Truro) on 11 March 1884. Costing between £600 and £700, it is built in the Gothic early-English style on a site donated by the Duke of Leeds. Ashton has a pub called the Lion and Lamb and in the past had a football team. Ashton is also the name of places in the parishes of Poundstock, St Dominick and St Winnow. The meaning of Ashton is "ash-tree farm".

Wheal Fortune or Great Wheal Fortune is the site of a mine in the civil parishes of Breage and Sithney in west Cornwall. Part of the disused mine was designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for its geological interest in 1991 and is also a Geological Conservation Review site of national importance for the minerals on the site.
