Calthorpe, Norfolk

Scarrow Beck is a minor watercourse which rises in the north of the English county of Norfolk. It is a tributary of the River Bure. Its spring is in the North Norfolk village of Aylmerton west of the main street. It eventually merges, after 7.7 miles (12.4 km) with the River Bure at Ingworth just north of the Blickling Hall estate. There are two watermills on the beck, both of which are no longer in working order. A third windmill at Gresham stands on Gur Beck, a small tributary of Scarrow Beck.

Wickmere is a village and a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, 18.9 miles (30.4 km) north of Norwich, 7.3 miles (11.7 km) south-southwest of Cromer and 132 miles (212 km) northeast of London. The nearest railway station is at Gunton for the Bittern Line which runs between Sheringham, Cromer and Norwich. The nearest airport is Norwich International Airport. In the 2001 census it had a population of 125, which increased to 158 at the 2011 census. For the purposes of local government, the it falls within the district of North Norfolk.

Erpingham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is located 3.1 miles (5.0 km) north of Aylsham and 15 miles (24 km) north of Norwich, along the Scarrow Beck. In 1935, Erpingham parish was merged with Calthorpe to form the parish of Erpingham with Calthorpe.

Aldborough is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Aldborough and Thurgarton (together with Thurgarton), in the North Norfolk district, in the county of Norfolk, England. It is situated about eight miles (13 km) south of Cromer. The name "Aldborough" derives from the Old English ald (old) and burh (fortification).The civil parish has an area of 7.15 square kilometres and in 2001 had a population of 567 in 259 households, the population increasing to 578 at the 2011 Census.

Wolterton Hall, is a large country house in the ecclesiastical parish of Wickmere with Wolterton and the civil parish of Wickmere in the county of Norfolk, England, United Kingdom. The present hall was commissioned by the 1st Baron Walpole of Wolterton and completed in 1742, it was designed by the architect Thomas Ripley who was a protégé of Lord Walpole and his brother Sir Robert Walpole.

It is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) north of Aylsham, 14.3 miles (23.0 km) north of Norwich, 7.3 miles (11.7 km) east of North Walsham and 9 miles (14 km) south-southwest of Cromer. The nearest railway station is at North Walsham, which is located on the Bittern Line between Sheringham and Norwich. The nearest airport is Norwich International Airport. The village is bypassed by the A140 road, 0.9 miles (1.4 km) to the west. The village and parish of Ingworth had, in the 2001 census, a population of 94. For the purposes of local government, the village falls within the district of North Norfolk. The population taken at the 2011 census remained less than 100 and was included in the civil parish of Erpingham.

Blickling Hall is a Jacobean stately home situated in 5,000 acres of parkland in a loop of the River Bure, near the village of Blickling north of Aylsham in Norfolk, England. The mansion was built on the ruins of a Tudor building for Sir Henry Hobart from 1616 and designed by Robert Lyminge. The library at Blickling Hall contains one of the most historically significant collections of manuscripts and books in England, containing an estimated 13,000 to 14,000 volumes. The core collection was formed by Sir Richard Ellys. The property passed into the care of the National Trust in 1940.

The Blickling Park mausoleum is a Grade II* listed building in the grounds of Blickling Hall, Norfolk, England. It was commissioned in 1793 by Lady Caroline Suffield, the daughter of John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire, as a tomb for her father and his two wives. The structure was designed by the Italian architect Joseph Bonomi the Elder and built by Henry Wood. It is in the form of a pyramid, modelled on that of Cestius in Rome, as an early example of Egyptian Revival architecture. The structure is now in the ownership of the National Trust.

Blickling is a village and civil parish in the Broadland district of Norfolk, England, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-west of Aylsham. In the 2011 census, it had a population of 113 and covered 862 hectares (2,130 acres), before dropping to 110 residents as of the 2021 census. Since the 17th century the village has been concentrated in two areas, around the church and also at the park gates of Blickling Hall. Most of the village is contained in the Blickling Estate, which has been owned by the National Trust since 1940. The villages name means 'Blicla's people'.

Thurgarton is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Aldborough and Thurgarton, in the North Norfolk district of the county of Norfolk, England. It lies 6½ miles north of Aylsham and 5½ miles south-west of Cromer, and was once part of the North Erpingham hundred. In 1931 the parish had a population of 186.

All Saints' Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Thurgarton, Norfolk, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands in an isolated position on a crossroads north of the village, 6 miles (10 km) south of Cromer, to the west of the A140 road.
