Christ Our King-Stella Maris School is a Roman Catholic parochial elementary and middle school in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina serving students in grades K4 through 8th. With an enrollment of over 600, it is the largest Catholic elementary and middle school in the Diocese of Charleston. The school was founded in 1950 and is named for the two original contributing parishes: Christ Our King Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant and Stella Maris Catholic Church on Sullivan's Island.

The College of Marine Arts was operated as the Sea Research Society's formal higher education wing from 1972 until 1978. It was initially located in Columbia, South Carolina and later moved to Mount Pleasant, outside of Charleston where it was housed in the former Berkeley County courthouse building on Pitt Street. Students participated in classroom workshops on history and artifact identification & conservation as well as in underwater archaeological projects on the wrecks of the Civil War blockade runners Georgiana, Mary Bowers and Constance as well as paleontological projects in the Cooper River and refuse sites in the Ashley River.

University School of the Lowcountry (USL) is a small independent school, grades 3-12, located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. University School is located on the campus of Hibben United Methodist Church. USL is designed for high-achieving, curious, hard-working, nice, and empathetic students. The school has consistent exemplary performance on the 7th grade Duke TIP SAT and 8th grade PSAT programs. Charleston reporter Stratton Lawrence termed USL "A School With No Bullies" in a 2013 article.

Mount Pleasant Historic District (also known as Old Village Historic District) is a national historic district located at Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, South Carolina. The district encompasses nine contributing buildings in the town of Mount Pleasant. The dwellings reflect Mount Pleasant's historic role as a summer resort town. The building reflect architectural styles of the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries, including vernacular Georgian, Greek Revival and Gothic Revival. Notable buildings include the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Mount Pleasant Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Hibben-McIver House, 200 Bank Street, and the Captain Peter Lewis House. Located in the district is the separately listed Old Courthouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

St. Andrew's Church is a multisite Anglican congregation in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, and Charleston, South Carolina. First established in 1835, its 1857 building is a contributing property to the Mount Pleasant Historic District. The church holds services at two other locations: downtown Charleston and North Charleston.

Mount Pleasant is a large suburban town in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. In the Lowcountry, it is the fourth-most populous municipality in South Carolina, and for several years was one of the state's fastest-growing areas, doubling in population between 1990 and 2000. The population was 90,801 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Charleston metropolitan area.At the foot of the Arthur Ravenel Bridge is Patriots Point, a naval and maritime museum, home to the World War II aircraft carrier USS Yorktown, which is now a museum ship. The Ravenel Bridge, an eight-lane highway that is part of U.S. Route 17 and was completed in 2005, spans the Cooper River and links Mount Pleasant with the city of Charleston.

Lucas Family Cemetery is a historic plantation cemetery located near Mount Pleasant, Charleston County, South Carolina. It was established in 1825, and the walled plot includes several grave markers signed by Charleston carvers. Eleven gravemarkers remain, dating from 1825 to 1892, and five are brick box tombs with slab or table tops. The cemetery is significant for being a rare example of traditional family cemetery arrangement in the lowcountry.The cemetery was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Shem Creek is a creek that runs through the city of Charleston and Town of Mount Pleasant in the U.S. state of South Carolina, and empties to the Charleston Harbor. The creek's waterfront and boardwalk is a popular destination for restaurants, bars, and recreational activities. The creek is also home to a marina, public and private boating docks, a fisherman's dock, and fish markets.

Moultrieville Historic District is a national historic district located at Sullivan's Island, Charleston County, South Carolina. The district encompasses 18 contributing buildings and 1 contributing site in Moultrieville. They predominantly include frame residences built between about 1830 to 1930 which are known as "Island Houses." Also located in the district are the Stella Maris Catholic Church (1869-1873) and Fort Moultrie Torpedo Shed/Mines Storehouse (c. 1905).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Ben Sawyer Bridge is a swing bridge that connects the town of Mount Pleasant with Sullivan's Island in South Carolina. The bridge swings on its central axis to open for boat traffic which is too tall to clear the bridge, and has an operator's house in the center of the swing span from which a tender can operate the bridge. The bridge was originally constructed in 1945, but the steel superstructure for the approach spans and swing span was replaced in 2010, albeit retaining the same general appearance. The bridge originally cost about $775,000 (substructure, superstructure, and approaches) for the 247 foot span (total 1,154 length) with a 32 foot clearance (at high tide). The bridge is approached on both sides by a causeway; applications for the dredging were filed in July 1941. The contractor was to dig a 50 foot wide channel through the mud which would then be filled with dredged sand from the nearby waters. Although the preliminary work moved forward, progress on the superstructure of the bridge was held up for many months due to the lack of steel during World War II; the military supported the completion of the project, though, and the project moved forward again starting in 1943. The bridge opened to traffic on June 18, 1945. Prior to completion of the Isle of Palms Connector Bridge in 1993, the Ben Sawyer Bridge provided the only vehicular access to Sullivan's Island, and, by a connecting bridge, Isle of Palms.The bridge was heavily damaged during Hurricane Hugo, leaving one end of the main span in the Intracoastal Waterway. Pictures of the damaged bridge are some of the most recognizable lasting images of the destruction wrought by the storm. It was subsequently repaired and reopened to traffic in October 1989.

The station is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to broadcast with an effective radiated power (ERP) of 100 kW. The station is owned by Cumulus Media. Its studios are located in North Charleston and the transmitter tower is located in Mount Pleasant.

Fort Moultrie is a series of fortifications on Sullivan's Island, South Carolina, built to protect the city of Charleston, South Carolina. The first fort, formerly named Fort Sullivan, built of palmetto logs, inspired the flag and nickname of South Carolina, as "The Palmetto State". The fort was renamed for the U.S. patriot commander in the Battle of Sullivan's Island, General William Moultrie. During British occupation, in 1780–1782, the fort was known as Fort Arbuthnot.
