Sherman Oaks Center for Enriched Studies is a magnet public school in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California, United States. Despite the name, SOCES is located in the Tarzana section of Los Angeles on the former campus of Sequoia Junior High School. (Prior to 1980, the campus was located at the site of present-day Sherman Oaks Elementary School in the Sherman Oaks section of Los Angeles). The school is a part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. SOCES is a California Distinguished School at which students can stay from 4th through 12th grade. SOCES is listed as a national gold-rated school and is one of the "Best High Schools in America" according to U.S. News & World Report. The school is also listed in the Washington Post's "America's Most Challenging High Schools". The school was named a National Magnet School of Distinction by the Magnet Schools of America in 2008 and 2009. As of July 2007, the school was issued a full six-year term of accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges' accreditation process. SOCES has a three-year average Academic Performance Index score of 888 as of September 2014.

Reseda station is a station on the G Line of the Los Angeles Metro Busway system. It is named after adjacent Reseda Boulevard, which travels north–south and crosses the east–west busway route. The station is in the Los Angeles districts of Reseda and Tarzana.

Aliso Creek (also Aliso Canyon Wash or Aliso Wash) is a major tributary of the Upper Los Angeles River in the Santa Susana Mountains in Los Angeles County and western San Fernando Valley in the City of Los Angeles, California. It has a watershed of 21 square miles (54 km2). It is the second major tributary, after Browns Canyon Wash−Creek, to enter the Los Angeles River downstream of its headwaters at the confluence of Bell Creek and Arroyo Calabasas in Canoga Park.

William Howard Taft Charter High School is a public school located on the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Winnetka Avenue in the Woodland Hills district of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California, within the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school gained affiliated charter status beginning with the 2013–2014 school year.

The Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center consisted of two hospitals, one in Tarzana and the other in Encino, California. Together, the two hospitals had approximately 400 beds. The hospitals were owned by Tenet Healthcare until 2008. Previously, Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center was operated as a joint venture between Tenet and HCA, but Tenet bought out its partner's share in 2006 in preparation for divesting it. Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center specializes in cardiac services, diabetes care, geriatrics, orthopedics, women's health & maternity care, oncology, rehabilitation medicine, pediatrics and has one of the largest neonatal intensive care units in the Valley. In June 2008, the Encino Regional Medical Center was bought by Prime Healthcare Services. In July 2008, the Tarzana Regional Medical Center was bought by Providence Health & Services.

The Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center is a hospital in Tarzana, California. The hospital's ownership changed in July 2008 when Tenet Healthcare sold it to the current owner, Providence Health & Services. Previously, the hospital was one of the campuses of the Encino-Tarzana Regional Medical Center.

Pierce College station, signed as Pierce College/Winnetka, is a station on the G Line of the Los Angeles Metro Busway system. It is named after the adjacent community college of the same name, which is located on Winnetka Avenue, immediately across Victory Boulevard from the station. The station is located in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Winnetka.

Omid-e-Iran OITN (English: Hope of Iran) is an American television network, inaugurated in 1995. The original mission was to broadcast television content and news to the Iranian American community of Southern California, however the scope broadened to the international Iranian community. The network was founded by Nader Rafiee, who started their journalist career on IRTV. Omid-e-Iran has programming in English and Persian languages.

Los Angeles Pierce College, shortened to Pierce College or simply Pierce, is a public community college in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. It is part of the Los Angeles Community College District and is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges. It serves 22,000 students each semester.The college began with 70 students and 18 faculty members on September 15, 1947. Originally known as the Clarence W. Pierce School of Agriculture, the institution's initial focus was crop cultivation and animal husbandry. Nine years later, in 1956, the school was renamed to Los Angeles Pierce Junior College, retaining the name of its founder, Dr. Pierce, as well as his commitment to agricultural and veterinary study. (Pierce still maintains a 225-acre (91 ha) working farm for hands-on training.)

AGBU Manoogian-Demirdjian School (Armenian: ՀԲԸՄ Մանուկեան-Տէմիրճեան վարժարան) is an Armenian-American private school located in Winnetka, Los Angeles, California, United States. Located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, it was founded in 1976 as Saint Peter-AGBU School near the corner of Louise Avenue and Sherman Way on the grounds of Saint Peter Armenian Apostolic Church. Initially there were 19 students and a staff of three teachers. It is run by the Armenian General Benevolent Union and privately financed through student tuitions, donors, fundraising events, sporting venues, etc. With about 680 students, it is the second smallest Armenian private school in the Greater Los Angeles area. The school was founded in 1976 and has been accredited by WASC since 1990. Instruction is in Armenian and British English. In 2006, the AGBU established an Armenian satellite high school in Pasadena to serve that city's Armenian community to which the campus ultimately closed in 2020.

The Chalk Hills are a north–south-running low 'mountain' range in the San Fernando Valley perpendicular to and adjoining the Santa Monica Mountains. They are located in the Woodland Hills District of the City of Los Angeles in Southern California. They run between DeSoto and Winnetka Avenues, from south of Ventura Boulevard north to near Victory Boulevard.
