Bremridge

Bremridge Wood formerly part of the Domesday Book estate of Bremridge near South Molton, Devon, England, is the site of an Iron Age enclosure or hill fort. The earthwork is situated in woodland on a Hillside forming a promontory above the River Bray to the West of the Town at approx 175 Metres above Sea Level.

East Buckland is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of East and West Buckland, in the North Devon district of Devon, England, next to the village of West Buckland. The village has an Anglican church which is frequented by the nearby West Buckland School. In 1961 the parish had a population of 70.On 1 April 1986 the parish was abolished and merged with West Buckland to form "East and West Buckland".

Castle Hill in the parish of Filleigh in North Devon, is an early Neo-Palladian country house situated 3 miles (5 kilometres) north-west of South Molton and 8 mi (13 km) south-east of Barnstaple. It was built in 1730 by Hugh Fortescue, 14th Baron Clinton (1696–1751), who was later created in 1751 1st Baron Fortescue and 1st Earl of Clinton, the son of Hugh Fortescue (died 1719), lord of the manor of Filleigh, Weare Giffard, etc., whose family is earliest recorded as residing in the 12th century at the manor of Whympston in the parish of Modbury in South Devon. The Fortescue family became major land owners, influential in British and West Country history. Castle Hill is a rare example in Devon of an 18th-century country mansion "on the grand scale".The house was substantially reconstructed following a disastrous fire in 1934. It was designated a Grade II* listed building in 1967. The park and gardens are Grade I listed in the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens. Today the property is leased by Eleanor, Countess of Arran (born 1949), the granddaughter of Hugh Fortescue, 5th Earl Fortescue (1888–1958).

South Molton Rural District was a rural district in the administrative county of Devon, England, from 1894 to 1974, covering an area in the north of the county. The district was named after the town of South Molton and had its offices there. The town itself was initially excluded from the rural district, being a self-governing municipal borough. In 1967 the town was absorbed into the district. The district was abolished in 1974, when the area became part of the new district of North Devon.

East and West Buckland is a civil parish in the English county of Devon. Forming part of the district of North Devon its main settlements are West Buckland and East Buckland. These were separate civil parishes until their merger on 1 April 1986.

The Guildhall on Broad Street in South Molton in Devon was built between 1739 and 1743 and has been a Grade I listed building on the Register of Historic England since 1951. Today the building is the town hall for South Molton. Beside it, beneath the Old Assembly Room, is the entrance to the Pannier Market for the town.

South Molton Pannier Market is the pannier market for the town of South Molton in Devon, England located behind the town's Grade I listed Guildhall which was constructed between 1739 and 1741. Originally, goods were sold in the Old Market House in the town which was built to replace the shambles of butchers and other small shops which stood around the Market Square. In 1860 South Molton Town Council made the decision to build a new covered area for stall holders - the Pannier Market. A property next to the Guildhall was bought with the foundation stone being laid in 1863. Over the Market was built a large Assembly Room with an arched ceiling. The Pannier Market was opened in February 1864 by the Mayor of South Molton.South Molton Market is held here every Thursday and Saturday from 8am to 1pm hosting about 70 local businesses selling a wide range of locally produced, reared and grown foods including fruit and veg, bread, fresh fish and meat, eggs and pasties. Other goods available include flowers, clothing, jewellery, plants, antiques and hand crafts, etc. Sunday events at the market include Salvage Fairs and Flea Markets.

South Molton is a town and civil parish in Devon, England. It is part of the North Devon local government district. The town is on the River Mole. South Molton is a market town trading mostly in sheep and cattle. There was a railway station on the Devon Railway until 1966, when the branch line was closed. It is situated on the southern side of Exmoor just off the A361 North Devon link road, which in part follows the route of the railway line.

South Molton Community College (known to students and teachers as SMCC) is a coeducational foundation secondary school located in South Molton in the English county of Devon.Previously a community school administered solely by Devon County Council, on 2 January 2012 South Molton Community College became a foundation co-operative trust school, partnered with Mole Valley Farmers.South Molton Community College offers GCSEs, BTECs and OCR Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. As of 2021, it also offers students the opportunity to take initial military training.Construction of a new school in North Devon was completed in April 2017.In 2018, a former drama teacher from the school was jailed for voyeurism and possession of indecent images of children after he admitted secretly filming students changing at the school. He was acquitted of other related charges.

Brayford is a village and civil parish in Devon, England, situated about 5 miles (8.0 km) from South Molton and 6 miles (9.7 km) from Barnstaple. It lies on Exmoor and sits beneath open areas of common land. It is a small rural community and in the surrounding area are many farms. Brayford is around 1 mile from the hamlet of Charles and is also host to several quarries. The village can be found along the Ilfracombe - South Molton Road in North Devon, and is also near to the North Devon Link Road which connects the area with the M5. The large Brayford Quarry lies on the outskirts of the village. It is operated by Hansons but remains an asset of Archibald Nott & Sons.

Filleigh is a small village, civil parish and former manor in North Devon, on the southern edge of Exmoor, 3.5 miles (5.6 km) west of South Molton. The village centre's street was, until the 1980s opening of the North Devon Link Road, the main highway between the North Devon administrative centre of Barnstaple and South Molton, leading westwards to Taunton. Much of the village's land is contained within grade I listed park and garden, Castle Hill, which straddles both sides of the Link Road providing a glimpse of some of it.

High Bray is a village, church of England parish and former civil parish, now in the parish of Brayford, in the North Devon district, in the county of Devon, England. In 1961 the civil parish had a population of 150. On 1 April 1986 the parish was abolished and merged with Charles to form Brayford.Wildlife filmmaker Johnny Kingdom was born and grew up in the village.
