Camarate (Portuguese pronunciation: [kɐmɐˈɾatɨ]) is a former civil parish in the municipality of Loures, Lisbon District, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Camarate, Unhos e Apelação. With a population of 23,000 inhabitants in 2001, the parish of Camarate extends into an area of 5.52 km².

Sacavém e Prior Velho is a civil parish in the municipality of Loures, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Sacavém and Prior Velho. The population in 2011 was 24,822, in an area of 3.89 km².

Portela (Portuguese pronunciation: [puɾˈtɛlɐ]) is a former civil parish in the municipality of Loures, Lisbon District, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Moscavide e Portela.

Santa Clara (Portuguese pronunciation: [ˈsɐ̃tɐ ˈklaɾɐ]) is a freguesia (civil parish) and district of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Located in northern Lisbon, Santa Clara is north of Lumiar, west of Olivais, and directly south of Lisbon's border with Odivelas and Loures. The population in 2011 was 22,480.

Charneca or Charneca do Lumiar (English: Lumiar heathland), was a Portuguese parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Lisbon. It was created in 1585. Between 1852 and 1886 this parish was part of the former municipality of Olivais. With the 2012 Administrative Reform, the parish merged with the Ameixoeira parish into a new one named Santa Clara.

Sacavém (Portuguese pronunciation: [sɐkɐˈvɐ̃j]; Arabic: شقبان) is a former civil parish in the municipality of Loures, Lisbon District, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Sacavém e Prior Velho. It is a few kilometers north-east of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The civil parish covers an area of 4.09 km2 (1.6 sq mi), and included as of 2001 census a resident population of 17,659 inhabitants. The region is known for its famous ceramics industry.

The Ceramics Museum of Sacavém (Portuguese: Museu de Cerâmica de Sacavém) is situated in the town of Sacavém in the municipality of Loures, just northeast of Lisbon in Portugal. The museum was opened in July 2000 and was constructed on the grounds of a former ceramics factory. Most of the exhibits reflect the output of that factory and its documentation centre is devoted to the study of the history and production of the factory and the industrial heritage of the municipality. In 2002 the museum was awarded the Luigi Micheletti Prize in the Industrial Heritage category.

The Redoubt of Mount Cintra (or Mount Sintra), commonly known as the Fort of Sacavém, is located in the town of Sacavém in the municipality of Loures in the Lisbon District of Portugal. It is situated immediately to the north of Lisbon. The fort’s construction began in 1875 and was completed in 1892. Since 2015 it has served as the National Archive for Portugal’s Directorate General of Cultural Heritage (DGPC).

The Army Geospatial Information Center (Portuguese: Centro de Informação Geoespacial do Exército; CIGeoE) is the military geographical, cartographical and geospatial intelligence agency of the Portuguese Army. The main mission of the CIGeoE is to provide the Army and the other branches of the Armed Forces of Portugal, as well as the civil community, with geographic information, ensuring the implementation of activities related to the geographical science, cartographic technique and the promotion and development of scientific and technological research actions in the field of geographical support and geomatics. Ameixoeira (Portuguese pronunciation: [ɐmɐjʃuˈɐjɾɐ]) was a Portuguese parish, located in the municipality of Lisbon. It had a population of 9,644 inhabitants and a total area of 1.62 km². With the 2012 Administrative Reform, the parish merged with the Charneca parish into a new one named Santa Clara.

The airport is the main international gateway to Portugal. It is the 20th-largest airport in Europe in terms of passenger volume, having served 31,173,000 passengers in 2019, an increase over the previous year of 7.4%. As of 2019 the airport handled 141 thousand tonnes of cargo. It is an important European hub to Brazil, the largest European Star Alliance hub to South America and also a European hub to Africa.The airport is the main hub of Portugal's flag carrier TAP Air Portugal including its subsidiary TAP Express in addition to being a hub for low-cost airlines Ryanair and easyJet. It is a focus city for Azores Airlines, euroAtlantic Airways, Hi Fly and White Airways. The airport is run by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, which was concessioned to the French group Vinci Airports in February 2013.In January 2019, Portugal's government unveiled a 1.1-billion-euro plan to expand Lisbon's current airport and build a second one in Montijo. It aimed to handle around 50 million passengers a year from 2022. The project is suspended by environmental concerns.
