Mosspark railway station

St James' Parish Church is a 19th-century parish church of the Church of Scotland in the Pollok area of Glasgow.

Lourdes Secondary School, established in 1956, is a school in the south-west of Glasgow which serves a large catchment area, including the communities of Cardonald, Craigton, Crookston, Drumoyne, Govan, Hillington, Ibrox, Kinning Park, Mosspark, Penilee and Pollok. It has an enrolment of approximately 1,200 pupils and 90 members of staff.

Cardonald Place Farm is a farmhouse on the banks of the White Cart Water river in Cardonald, Glasgow, Scotland. It was built in 1848 on (or close to) the site occupied by the former Cardonald Palace. Cardonald Castle was the seat of the Cardonald Stewart family in the 16th Century. Nothing remains of Cardonald Palace, although a stone from the palace has been set into the farmhouse above the door. The farmhouse is featured on the cover of the 1993 book "Old Cardonald Had A Farm" by John A. Innes.

Crookston Castle is a ruined medieval castle in the Pollok area of Glasgow, Scotland. It is located some 5 miles (8 km) south-west of the city centre, on a hill overlooking the Levern Water, just before its confluence with the White Cart Water. Crookston Castle was built by the Stewarts of Darnley around 1400, and is set within earthworks constructed in the 12th century. Once the property of the earls and dukes of Lennox, the castle was extensively repaired following a siege in 1544, and it is the only surviving medieval castle in Glasgow.

Cardonald (; Scots: Cardonal, Scottish Gaelic: Cair Dhòmhnaill) is an outlying suburb of the Scottish city of Glasgow. Formerly a village in its own right, it lies to the southwest of the city and is bounded to the south by the White Cart Water. The area was part of Renfrewshire until 1926 when the villages of Cardonald, Crookston, Halfway and their surrounding farmland were annexed to Glasgow.

Glasgow South West is a constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. As in all other seats since the 1950 abolition of multi-member university returns to the Commons, residents elect one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. The seat saw its first MP at the 2005 general election. Its 2017 general election result was the ninth-closest result, with a winning margin of 60 votes. At the 2019 general election, Chris Stephens of the SNP was re-elected with an increased majority over Matt Kerr of the Labour Party, with 4,900 votes and a 7.2% swing from the previous election two years earlier.

Pollok (Scottish Gaelic: Pollag, lit. 'a pool', Scots: Powk) is a large housing estate on the south-western side of the city of Glasgow, Scotland. The estate was built either side of World War II to house families from the overcrowded inner city. Housing 30,000 at its peak, its population has since declined due to the replacement of substandard housing with lower-density accommodation. As of 2021, the population was recorded at 81,951 people. The main features of the area are the nearby Pollok Country Park, where the Burrell Collection is now housed, the ruins of Crookston Castle (within the north part of residential Pollok) which Mary, Queen of Scots once visited, and the Silverburn Centre, one of Glasgow's major indoor retail complexes.

Craigton Cemetery is a cemetery in south-west Glasgow dating from the mid-19th century. It stands on Berryknowes Road. The cemetery has a Jewish section containing 230 graves. The cemetery also contains 251 commonwealth war graves from the First and Second World Wars.Partly due to the proximity to Ibrox Stadium, the cemetery has strong links to Rangers Football Club. The original entrance is to the south-east. A new entrance to the north was created to serve the crematorium. The north half of the cemetery is relatively flat and open. The south half slopes fairly steeply south to north and is more densely filled with monuments. Vandalism in the cemetery is widespread.

Corkerhill railway station serves the Corkerhill and Mosspark neighbourhoods of Glasgow, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and lies on the Paisley Canal Line, 3¼ miles (5 km) west of Glasgow Central. The station was originally a staff halt on the Glasgow and South Western Railway, with a small network of houses having been built for workers at the Corkerhill Carriage Servicing Maintenance Depot (opened 1896); eventually the isolated village was swallowed up by the expanding Glasgow urban area with the construction of the Mosspark, Cardonald and Pollok estates. The station was opened to the public in 1923 and was rebuilt by British Railways in 1954.

Corkerhill is a neighbourhood of Glasgow, Scotland, southwest of the city centre. The area was originally a farm and a few houses built for workers of the Glasgow and South Western Railway at the Corkerhill Depot. The engine sheds and sidings are still present, although Corkerhill signal box to the rear of the houses now facing Mosspark shops was demolished in the late 1970s. Corkerhill railway station opened on 1 July 1885 as a staff halt for railway workers, and to the public in 1923. It is on the Paisley Canal Line.In the 1920s, building in the area expanded as far as Mosspark and later Cardonald, making Corkerhill part of the Glasgow conurbation. In the 1950s, Glasgow Corporation built Hardridge Road, consisting of terraced and tenement dwellings. Later in the 1960s, shops were built to address the shortage in the area, the nearest then being in Cardonald and Pollok. The Cart public house also opened, the only one in the area. Corkerhill spiralled into decline in the mid to late 1980s until many of the tenements were vandalised and empty and most of the shops were unrented. In 2004, demolition of the tenements began, being replaced with privately owned suburban style housing. The area is bordered by the railway lines, the M77 motorway, Pollok Country Park and Nethercraigs Sports Complex, ten minutes from Glasgow Central on the train and close to two junctions of the motorway.

Cardonald railway station is located in the Cardonald district of Glasgow, Scotland, also serving parts of the Drumoyne neighbourhood located on the opposite side of the M8 motorway which runs adjacent to the railway. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Inverclyde Line.
