Flemingston (Welsh: Lanmihangel y Twyn, or Treffelemin) (previously known in English as Michaelston Le Mont, Flimston or Flimstone) is a small village in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales. It is located 8.5 miles (13.7 km) northwest by road from the town centre of Barry. It contains the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, the ruins of Flemingston Court, and Flemingston Manor or Grange, all of which are listed buildings. Historically, the parish of Flemingston was a sub-manor of Aberthaw or St Athan.

Old Beaupre Castle (Welsh: Hen Gastell y Bewpyr; also known as Beaupre Castle, Old Beaupre Manor, or simply Beaupre) is a ruined medieval fortified manor house located in the community of Llanfair, outside Cowbridge in Wales. It is known in historic documents under the names Beawpire, Bewerpere, Bewpyr and Y Bewpur. It is a Grade I listed building and is under the care of Cadw. It can be visited free of charge all year round by members of the public. The gardens are designated Grade II on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

St Hilary (Welsh: Saint Hilari ) is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. It is located just south of the A48, about a mile southeast of the market town of Cowbridge. The village has a population of about 260, in approximately 80 houses. Notable landmarks in the vicinity include The Bush Inn, the Church of St Hilary, the Old Beaupre Castle, New Beaupre, Coed Hills and St. Hilary mast.

The Parish Church of St Hilary (Welsh: Eglwys Sant Ilar) is a Grade II* listed Anglican church in the village of St Hilary in the Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. It is one of 11 churches in the Parish of Cowbridge. It became a listed building on 22 February 1963.

The Bush Inn is a Grade II listed public house in St Hilary, near Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan, south Wales. The current inn dates to the 16th century. It has a thatched roof, thick stone walls, low oak beams, flagstone floors, old pews, a stone spiral staircase, and an inglenook fireplace. The benches outside the pub look across to the Church of St Hilary.Iolo Morganwg was known to have visited the pub. The Rough Guide to Wales praised its food and "cosy" atmosphere. Egon Ronay's Lucas Guide in the late 1970s said "People come from Cardiff and Swansea to St Hilary for the sake of this stone-built thatched pub, which offers table skittles or darts in the tile-floored public bar."The Automobile Association named the Bush Inn "Welsh Pub of the Year 2008/9".

East Camp is an Ex-MOD housing estate opposite the MOD St Athan main east entrance within St Athan. The housing estate sits between the village of St Athan and Flemingston but does not constitute a village itself. It falls under the Flemingston & Eglwys Brewis electoral ward.Due to it being Ex-MOD property there are some particular arrangements regarding build and service supply to the properties. The Sewage is handled by Kelda Water Services (Defence) Limited and fresh water, management of the private parking, street lighting and areas of play is handled by a society called the East Vale Residents Co. Ltd. who outsource to Cadarn, the parent group of Newydd Housing Association.East Camp houses a Food Bank.The St Athan Golf Club is to the rear (east) of East Camp, next to a disused running track.1st St Athan Scout Group meet at East Camp, mainly at The Gathering Place.

The St Hilary transmitting station is a facility for telecommunications situated close to the village of St Hilary, Glamorgan in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, in the UK. It comprises a 229-metre (750 ft) guyed mast with antennas attached at various heights. The site was established in 1958 for Independent Television transmission on VHF. Transmissions from the site include FM radio, DAB radio and mobile telephone signals. It broadcasts Heart Wales on FM and DAB to the large parts of South Wales.Its broadcast areas include: St. Hilary, Cowbridge, Ystradowen, Miskin, Pontyclun, Bonvilston, St. Nicholas, Swansea, Llanelli, West of Barry, Pontypridd, Caerphilly, Mountain Ash, Llantrisant, Church Village and Talbot Green. The studios of the regional radio station Nation Radio are located on the site and its DAB transmissions to south-east Wales are made from the mast. Nation Radio also transmits from other sites, including on FM from nearby Wenvoe and from Kilvey Hill near Swansea.

Eglwys Brewis is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales. It is located just to the north of the village of St Athan, south of Flemingston and northeast of Llantwit Major. Greenlands and St Mary Church lie to the north by road from Eglwys Brewis. The village consists primarily of residential estates which were originally built in the mid-20th century for service families stationed at nearby RAF St Athan. The estates are regularly used by driving instructors in the Vale of Glamorgan. Nant y Stepsau flows in the vicinity.

The Battle of Stalling Down, also known as the Battle of Bryn Owain, is a battle reputed to have taken place between late autumn or early winter of 1403 or 1405 between a Welsh army under Owain Glyndŵr and an English army under King Henry IV of England. It was part of the Welsh Revolt of 1400–1415.
