Tyn-y-Coed Farmhouse

St Philip's Church, Caerdeon, near Barmouth, in Gwynedd, North Wales, is a redundant church and a Grade I listed building. The church was built in 1862 for the Rev. William Edward Jelf, a High church clergyman and Senior Censor at Christ Church, Oxford. It was designed by his brother-in-law, John Louis Petit. Petit was a noted architectural critic and artist, but St Philip's is one of only two buildings known to be by him. Jelf wanted a church on his newly acquired estate where his Oxford seminarians could worship in the English language. This led to a considerable controversy as there was an existing legal obligation to hold services in Welsh in all churches in Welsh-speaking areas. Jelf lost his case in the Court of Arches but was supported by the Bishop of Bangor who used his influence and position in the House of Lords to secure the passing of the English Services in Wales Act 1863 (26 & 27 Vict. c. 82), which allowed for English-language services in certain circumstances.

Arthog railway station in Gwynedd, Wales, was a station on the Dolgelly [sic] branch of the Aberystwith and Welsh Coast Railway (part of the Ruabon to Barmouth Line). It closed to passengers on 18 January 1965.

Arthog () is a village, post town and community in the Meirionnydd area in Gwynedd, north Wales including the villages of Fairbourne and Friog. It is located on the A493, approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Dolgellau, and had a population of 1,010 in 2001, increasing slightly to 1,031 at the 2011 census.

The Mawddach Trail (Welsh: Llwybr Mawddach) is a cycle path route, part of Lôn Las Cymru, which runs for some 8 miles (13 km) from Dolgellau (52.7446°N 3.8866°W / 52.7446; -3.8866 (Mawddach Trail (eastern end))) to Morfa Mawddach railway station (52.7076°N 4.0315°W / 52.7076; -4.0315 (Mawddach Trail (western end))), by Barmouth bridge on the Cambrian coast. It is maintained by the Snowdonia National Park and is popular with walkers and cyclists alike. It passes some estuarine areas that are important for water birds, and the RSPB Information Centre at Penmaenpool makes use of the old signal box as an observation centre overlooking the estuary. The cycle route is a rail trail running along the former trackbed of the Ruabon to Barmouth branch line of the Great Western Railway. This line closed under the Beeching Axe in the 1960s.

Bontddu (meaning Black bridge) is a small settlement just east of Barmouth, near the town of Dolgellau in Gwynedd, Wales. It is in the community of Llanelltyd.

The Clogau (pronounced "clog-eye") Gold Mine (also known as Clogau St David's) is a gold mine near Bontddu in North Wales.

Diffwys is a mountain in Snowdonia, Wales, near Barmouth and forms part of the Rhinogydd. On the north side is an exposure of the Caerdion Syncline. It is technically a subsidiary summit of Y Llethr, missing Marilyn status by 2m. It is therefore a sub Marilyn. The summit has a trig point. To the north is Y Llethr and Crib-y-rhiw, to the east is Y Garn, to the south is Cadair Idris, and to the west is its top Diffwys West Top.

Diffwys West Top is a top of Diffwys in Snowdonia, North Wales, near Barmouth and forms part of the Rhinogydd. It is a grassy summit found on the west ridge. The summit is marked with a pile of stones, below which is the crags of Craig Bodlyn and the glacial lake, Llyn Bodlyn. Moelfre is to the north.

Borthwnog is a family name given to the Borthwnog estate in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. Borthwnog Hall was the Manor House of the estate which encompassed the adjacent Borth farm and lands up the Taichynhaeaf valley and Bontddu. The earliest records date the house to the late 17th century. The building, has been modified to a Georgian style and has, along with many other buildings in the area, been listed as a grade II listed building.

Penmaenpool (Welsh: Llynpenmaen) is a hamlet on the south side of the estuary of the River Mawddach in Wales, near Dolgellau. A Grade II listed toll bridge provides access across the estuary for light vehicles.

Penmaenpool railway station at Penmaenpool in Gwynedd, North Wales, was formerly a station on the Dolgelly [sic] branch of the Aberystwith and Welsh Coast Railway, part of the Ruabon to Barmouth Line. It closed to passengers on Monday 18 January 1965. It had two platforms and a passing loop, plus an engine shed approximately half a mile west of the station next to the former fireman's house. According to the Official Handbook of Stations the following classes of traffic were being handled at this station in 1956: G, P, F, L, H & C and there was no crane.

Moelfre is a hill in Wales on the far western edge of the Snowdonia National Park, 3 miles (4.8 km) from the village of Dyffryn Ardudwy, 5 miles (8.0 km) from the village of Llanbedr and about 10 miles (16 km) from the town of Harlech. It forms part of the Rhinogydd range. Moelfre reaches a height of 589 metres (1,932 ft). Moelfre is a prominent peak that separates Cwm Nantcol from Ysgethin Valley. Moelfre is also known for a legend of three women who worked on the sabbath and were turned into standing stones.
