Bramhall railway station

Bramhall High School is a nine form entry, comprehensive high school for 11 to 16-year-olds in Bramhall, Stockport, England. The school is a teacher training school in connection with Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester.

Bramhall is a suburban area in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England. Historically in Cheshire, it had a population of 17,436 at the 2011 Census.

Bramall Hall is a largely Tudor manor house in Bramhall, Greater Manchester, England. The building is timber-framed and its oldest parts date from the 14th century, with additions from the 16th and 19th centuries. The house functions as a museum and its 70 acres (28 ha) of landscaped parkland (Bramhall Park) are open to the public. The manor of Bramall was first described in the Domesday Book in 1086, when it was held by the Massey family. From the late 14th century, it was owned by the Davenports, who built the present house and remained lords of the manor for about 500 years. In 1877, they sold the estate of nearly 2,000 acres to the Manchester Freeholders' Company, a property company formed to exploit the estate's potential for residential building development. The hall and a residual park of over 50 acres was sold on by the Freeholders to the Nevill family of successful industrialists. In 1925, it was purchased by John Henry Davies and then, in 1935, acquired by Hazel Grove and Bramhall Urban District Council. Following a local government reorganisation in 1974, Bramall Hall is now owned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, which describes it as "the most prestigious and historically significant building in the Bramhall Park Conservation Area."

Woodford is a suburban village in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England, 5.2 miles (8.4 km) south of Stockport, 5.7 miles (9.2 km) north-west of Macclesfield and 10.7 miles (17.2 km) south-east of Manchester. Woodford is the most southerly point of Greater Manchester; it consists of a ribbon of properties and a housing development along the A5102 road, around which is open countryside. Historically part of Cheshire, Woodford was a hamlet in the parish of Prestbury throughout the Middle Ages. It was incorporated into the Urban District of Hazel Grove and Bramhall in 1939 and then the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in 1974. Woodford Aerodrome was opened in 1924 by Avro and produced aircraft such as the Avro Lancaster in World War II; it closed in 2011 and was demolished in 2015. Woodford residents have included Manchester United footballers George Best and Cristiano Ronaldo. Its large, expensive properties include New Hall, a 17th-century cottage and Grade II* listed building.

Hazel Grove and Bramhall was a civil parish and urban district in north east Cheshire, England from 1900 to 1974. It was created in 1900 covering, from Stockport Rural District, the former area of the civil parishes of: Bosden Bramhall Norbury Offerton TorkingtonIn 1936, 903 acres (3.65 km2) were transferred to the County Borough of Stockport and 16 acres (65,000 m2) to Marple Urban District. In 1939 the former area of the Woodford civil parish was gained.The district was abolished in 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, and its former area was transferred to Greater Manchester to be combined with that of other districts to form the present-day Metropolitan Borough of Stockport.

Cheadle Hulme High School is an 11–18 mixed secondary school and sixth form with academy status in Cheadle Hulme, Cheadle, Stockport. In 1997, it was awarded specialist language college status and in 2000 it became a training school. It has been an academy since 2012 and operates as part of The Laurus Trust. The school was rated 'Outstanding' in a 2014 Ofsted Report.

Woodford Aerodrome (ICAO: EGCD) is a former airfield and aircraft factory at Woodford, Greater Manchester, England, 6 NM (11 km; 6.9 mi) north of Macclesfield. It was opened by the Avro company after the First World War and became an important production centre for military aircraft in the Second World War. Notable planes made at the factory include the Avro Anson, Avro Lancaster, Avro Shackleton and Avro Vulcan. After almost 80 years of aircraft manufacture at the site, Woodford was closed and sold off by BAE Systems in 2011.

Avro Heritage Museum is an aviation museum in Woodford, Greater Manchester, England, that opened on 13 November 2015. It is located at the former Woodford Aerodrome, and it replaces the former Avro Heritage Centre.

Millington Hall is a historic Grade II listed building in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport, England, constructed in 1683. It is on Station Road next to the Methodist Church. The building became a restaurant in the 1960s, before being converted and reopened in 2004 as a public house called the John Millington.

Davenport is a district of Stockport, Greater Manchester, England; until 1974, it was part of Cheshire. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 14,924.
