Rizal, officially the Province of Rizal (Filipino: Lalawigan ng Rizal), is a province in the Philippines located in the Calabarzon region in Luzon. Its capital is the city of Antipolo. It is about 16 kilometers (9.9 mi) east of Manila. The province is named after José Rizal, one of the main national heroes of the Philippines. It is bordered by Metro Manila to the west, Bulacan to the north, Quezon to the east and Laguna to the southeast. The province also lies on the northern shores of Laguna de Bay, the largest lake in the country. Rizal is a mountainous province perched on the western slopes of the southern portion of the Sierra Madre mountain range. Antipolo serves as the provincial capital since 2020, having been an administrative center since 2009 with the capitol located in the city. Previously, Pasig served as the capital, a designation it retained even after becoming part of the National Capital Region in 1975. The province is a part of Greater Manila Area. It is the 5th largest province in the Philippines in terms of population.

Mount Puting Bato, also locally known as simply Puting Bato, is a notable peak located in Antipolo, Rizal in the Philippines. Its name translates to "white rock" in English, characterized by the limestone present in the area. Over time, these formations have undergone weathering, leading to a gradual fading of their original coloration. With its summit reaching above 120 feet (36.5 meters), the hill offers panoramic views of the other surrounding Antipolo hills and serves as a popular spot for both sunrise and sunset observations. Its summit features a prominent cross, making it a significant site during the Holy Week, especially for residents of Barangay San Luis, where it is situated.

The Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape is a protected area in the Province of Rizal in the Philippines, which forms the upper area of the drainage basin of the Marikina River. The term "Marikina Watershed" is sometimes used to specifically refer to this protected area, but is also generally to the river's entire drainage basin, from the Sierra Madre Mountains of Rizal Province all the way to the Napindan area in Pasig, where its mouth empties into the Pasig River. The Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape had been named the Marikina Watershed Reservation until November, 2011, when President Benigno S. Aquino III upgraded its status from "reservation" to "protected landscape."

On the night of August 2, 1999, a massive landslide occurred in Cherry Hills subdivision in Antipolo, Rizal province, Philippines that resulted to about 60 deaths and 378 houses buried. The landslide was primarily caused by the heavy rains associated with Typhoon Ising (Olga) and neglect by the developers and government officials in assessing the site's vulnerability to geohazards.

La Salle College Antipolo, or La Salle Antipolo, is a Catholic Lasallian educational institution in Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines, was founded as a La Salle School by Rolando Dizon, a past president of De La Salle University, Manila, in 1986.

St. John Paul II Minor Seminary (abbreviated "SJPIIMS") is the high school seminary of the Diocese of Antipolo located along Maguey Road, Barangay San Luis, Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. The seminary was established in 2007, with a pioneer of forty-eight (48) first year seminarians in June 2007, coming from the Province of Rizal and from some parts of Metro Manila. The seminary produced its first batch of graduates at the end of the academic year 2010–2011. At present, the school follows the K-12 basic education system, which is the curriculum implemented by the Department of Education, with lay teachers coming from Our Lady of Peace School beside Antipolo Cathedral.

Assumption Antipolo (abbreviated: AA) is a private, Catholic, all-girls basic education institution run by the Religious of the Assumption in the city of Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines. It was established by the Assumption sisters in 1974.

The Upper Wawa Dam is a concrete dam over the Marikina River, located in San Rafael, Rodriguez, Rizal, Philippines. It is constructed between 2021 and 2025.

The Casa Santa Museum is a public attraction at Jardin de Miramar, located in Antipolo, east of Metro Manila in the Philippines. The museum features Casa Santa Houses, which contain collections of Santa Claus figurines.

The UNTV Transmitter is a 328 ft (100.0 m) communication tower owned by Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International, Inc. located at Emerald Hills, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo, Rizal, Republic of the Philippines. It serves as the new transmitter facility for flagship stations DWAO-TV (UNTV News and Rescue) and DWNU, with broadcast licenses owned by the stations founder Progressive Broadcasting Corporation.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Antipolo (Lat: Dioecesis Antipolensis; Filipino: Diyosesis ng Antipolo) is a diocese of the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church in the Philippines that comprises the Province of Rizal and the city of Marikina in Metro Manila. On January 24, 1983, during his Angelus message, Pope John Paul II announced the creation of the Diocese of Antipolo, which would encompass the whole province of Rizal, the entire Marikina, and part of Pasig (Barangays Dela Paz, Santolan, Manggahan, Rosario, and Santa Lucia, which altogether formed the Vicariate of Santo Tomas de Villanueva, now belonging to the Diocese of Pasig). It is an area that was previously known in the Archdiocese of Manila as the Ecclesiastical District of Eastern Rizal. The diocese was canonically established on the June 25, 1983 and is a suffragan of the said archdiocese. The first bishop of Antipolo was Protacio G. Gungon. On December 3, 2001, he was succeeded by Crisostomo Yalung as the second bishop, followed by Gabriel V. Reyes, former Bishop of Kalibo in Aklan, as the third bishop. Bishop Reyes was assisted by the then-auxiliary and later coadjutor bishop, Francisco M. De Leon, who was named his successor and fourth bishop effective September 10, 2016. The diocese had its First Diocesan Synod in 1993 held at Saint Michael's Retreat House in Antipolo City. The diocese has experienced some jurisdictional changes since the time the Diocese of Pasig was created, whereby six parishes within the civil boundaries of Pasig were given to the new local church, together with seven diocesan priests serving in them. At present, the Diocese of Antipolo is considered to be one of the largest local churches in the Philippines in terms of its Catholic population. Among the 86 ecclesiastical jurisdictions present in the Philippines today, the diocese is the third largest local church in terms of its Catholic population after the Archdiocese of Cebu, and the Diocese of Malolos (Bulacan and Valenzuela City). The population of the whole area covering the diocese is 3,650,000, of which 3,280,000 (or 90%) are Catholics. The seat or center of the diocese is the Antipolo Cathedral, one of the most popular Marian shrines in the country where the historic Canonically crowned image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje) (the Virgin of Antipolo) is enshrined.

Antipolo Cathedral (formally known as the International Shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage and the Immaculate Conception Parish) is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Antipolo in the Philippines. It enshrines the Marian image of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage (Spanish: Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje), and is the seat of the Bishop of Antipolo. It is also the Immaculate Conception Parish and is referred to by locals as the "Simbahan ng Antipolo" (Church of Antipolo). The shrine attracts millions of pilgrims annually, especially during the Pilgrimage Season which commences with the Alay Lakad from Quiapo Church on April 30 until the month of May.
