The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education, commonly known as Penn GSE, is an Ivy League top-ranked educational research school in the United States. Formally established as a school at the University of Pennsylvania in 1914, Penn GSE has historically had research strengths in teaching and learning, the cultural contexts of education, language education, quantitative research methods, and practitioner inquiry. Pam Grossman is the current dean of Penn GSE; she succeeded Andrew C. Porter in 2015.

The University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, commonly known as Penn SP2, is a school of social policy and social work in the United States whose vision is "The passionate pursuit of social innovation, impact and justice." Originally named the School of Social Work, the school was founded in 1908 and is a graduate school of the University of Pennsylvania. The school specializes in research, education, and policy development in relation to both social and economic issues. Penn SP2 is currently ranked as one of the leading schools for social policy and social work graduate education. The school offers degrees in a variety of subfields of social policy and social work, in addition to several dual degree programs and sub-matriculation programs.

The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania ( WHOR-tən; also known as Wharton Business School, the Wharton School, and Wharton) is the business school of the University of Pennsylvania, a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Generally considered to be one of the most prestigious business schools in the world, the Wharton School is the world's oldest collegiate business school, having been established in 1881 through a donation from Joseph Wharton.The Wharton School awards the Bachelor of Science with a school-specific economics concentration, and Bachelor of Arts degrees focusing on core management, general business, and international studies at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program offers dual studies leading to a joint degree from other schools (e.g., law, engineering, government). Meanwhile, Wharton's MBA for Executives and undergraduate programs are ranked No. 2 and No. 1 in the United States respectively by U.S. News. MBA graduates of Wharton earn an average $159,815 first year base pay not including bonuses, the highest of all the leading schools. Wharton's MBA program is tied for the highest in the United States with an average GMAT score of 732 (97th percentile) for its entering class.Wharton School alumni include former U.S. President Donald Trump, SpaceX founder Elon Musk, and billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Current and former CEOs of Fortune 500 companies including Alphabet Inc., General Electric, Boeing, Pfizer, Comcast, Oracle, PepsiCo and Johnson & Johnson are also Wharton School alumni.

The Wistar Institute is an independent, nonprofit research institution in biomedical science, with special expertise in oncology, immunology, infectious disease and vaccine research. Located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, Wistar was founded in 1892 as America's first nonprofit institution solely focused on biomedical research and training. The institute has historic and contemporary ties with the university, reflected in research collaboration and shared access to facilities.Since 1972, Wistar has been a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center. It has received the highest rating of "exceptional" in two consecutive terms in 2013 and 2018 by the Cancer Center Support Grant.Known worldwide for vaccine development, some of the institute's accomplishments are its contributions to the creation of vaccines for rubella (German Measles), rotavirus and rabies.

37th Street station, also known as 37th Street/Spruce Street/Woodland Avenue station, is a SEPTA subway–surface lines trolley station in Philadelphia. It is westernmost station of the subway–surface tunnel and carries Routes 11, 13, 34, and 36. The station is located on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania at the intersection of 37th and Spruce streets. Trolleys serving this station go eastbound to Center City Philadelphia and westbound to the neighborhoods of Eastwick and Angora, as well as the Delaware County suburbs of Yeadon and Darby.

36th Street station is a SEPTA trolley station in Philadelphia. It is located at the intersection of Sansom and 36th Streets, and serves Routes 11, 13, 34, and 36 of the SEPTA subway–surface trolley lines. Trolleys serving this station go eastbound to Center City Philadelphia and westbound to the neighborhoods of Eastwick and Angora, as well as the Delaware County suburbs of Yeadon and Darby. The station is located adjacent to the Institute of Contemporary Art and is two blocks away from the 36th Street Portal station, which serves the Route 10 trolley.

The Institute of Contemporary Art or ICA is a contemporary art museum in Philadelphia. The museum is associated with the University of Pennsylvania, and is located on its campus. The Institute is one of the country's leading museums dedicated to exhibiting the innovative art of our time. Robert Chaney is its Director of Curatorial Affairs.

University City is the easternmost portion of West Philadelphia, encompassing several Philadelphia universities. It is situated directly across the Schuylkill River from Center City. The University of Pennsylvania was instrumental in coining the name "University City" as part of a 1950s urban renewal and gentrification effort. University City is also home to Drexel University and the University City campus of Saint Joseph's University. The eastern side of University City contains the Penn and Drexel campuses, several medical institutions, independent centers of scientific research, 30th Street Station, Cira Centre, and Cira Centre South. The western side contains Victorian and early 20th-century housing stock and is primarily residential.

The Quadrangle Dormitories (commonly referred to as Quad) are a complex of 39 conjoined residence houses at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The architectural firm of Cope and Stewardson designed the houses in an exuberant Neo-Jacobean version of the Collegiate Gothic style, and completed most of them between 1894 and 1912. The dormitories stretch from 36th to 38th Streets and from Spruce Street to Hamilton Walk (Pine Street). West of the Memorial Tower at 37th Street, the houses on the north side follow the diagonal of Woodland Avenue (now Woodland Walk) and form a long triangle with the houses on the south side. From 1895 to 1971, the dormitories housed only male students.The Quadrangle Dormitories were listed as a contributing property in the University of Pennsylvania Campus Historic District in 1978.The Quad is now grouped into 3 college houses: Fisher Hassenfeld College House (west), Ware College House (center), and Riepe College House (east). As "first-year communities," they currently (2017) house approximately 1,445 students.

St. Anthony Hall House, also known as the Delta Chapter House for the Fraternity of Delta Psi, is a historic fraternity house located in the University City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is the St. Anthony Hall for the University of Pennsylvania. It was designed by the architectural firm of Cope & Stewardson and built in 1907. It is a three-story, brick building with limestone trim in the Late Gothic Revival-style. It measures 36 feet wide and 88 feet long.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Academy and College of Philadelphia (1749-1791) was a boys' school and men's college in Philadelphia, Colony of Pennsylvania. Founded in 1749 by a group of local notables that included Benjamin Franklin, the Academy of Philadelphia began as a private secondary school, occupying a former religious school building at the southwest corner of 4th and Arch Streets. The academy taught reading, writing, and arithmetic to both paying and charity students. The College of Philadelphia was founded in 1755, when the academy's charter was amended to allow the granting of advanced academic degrees. The Medical School of the College of Philadelphia, founded in 1765, was the first medical school in North America. The College of Philadelphia merged with the University of the State of Pennsylvania in 1791, to form the University of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania Railroad Freight Building is a historic freight station, warehouse and showroom building located in the University City neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was built by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1929, and is a six-story, flat roofed building in the Art Deco style. The first floor is clad in limestone and the upper stories are of buff-colored brick. Each floor contains approximately 88,000 square feet.From 1956 to 1993, it was the GE Re-entry Systems facility, where "thousands of engineers and technicians who solved the problem of vehicles successfully reentering the Earth's atmosphere" for NASA. Among the achievements of the men and women working at the facility is "the recovery of the first man-made object from orbit," a unique milestone for humanity. Generations of University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University students who worked there know it as "The GE Building". For this work, The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) designated it as an Historic Aerospace Site in 2007.The building has been converted to residential use and is now known as the Left Bank. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
