Monkellan Parish is a civil parish of Murray County, New South Wales.Monkellan is located at 35°39′54″S 149°12′04″E and is on the Monaro Highway just outside the Australian Capital Territory. Its western border is formed by the Murrumbidgee River and its southern border by Michelago creek. It includes most of Michelago.

Michelago railway station is a heritage-listed former railway station on the Bombala railway line at Michelago, Snowy Monaro Regional Council, New South Wales, Australia. The property was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Michelago is a village in the Monaro region of New South Wales, Australia. The village is in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council local government area, 54 kilometres (34 mi) south of Canberra on the Monaro Highway. It was founded in the 1820s, on the main route from Sydney to the Snowy Mountains. Its name is also applied to the surrounding area, for postal and statistical purposes. At the 2016 census, Michelago had a population of 562.

Gibraltar Hill is a hill in the Monaro region, near Williamsdale in New South Wales, Australia.

Williamsdale is a town in the district of Tuggeranong, in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. Is situated on the northwest side of the Australian Capital Territory border abutting the town of Williamsdale in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. The Monaro Highway and the former Bombala railway pass through the area. A railway station saw service until 1975. The postcode is 2620.

Royalla is a rural locality on the border of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. The area takes its name from the nearby Mount Rob Roy, and was originally a railway settlement on the Bombala railway line known as Rob Roy and changed to the current name in 1905. Modern Royalla is a large rural locality east of the Monaro Highway. The border with the ACT follows the western boundary of the easement of the former railway line to the east of the highway. The town was served by a railway station until 1975. The NSW part of Royalla had a population of 984 at the 2016 census.

Mount Tennent (Aboriginal: Tharwa) is a mountain with an elevation of 1,375 metres (4,511 ft) AHD  in the southern part of the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. The Gudgenby River flows at the base of the mountain.

Gigerline Parish was a former parish of Murray County, New South Wales, a cadastral unit for use on land titles. It was formed in the nineteenth century and existed until 1 January 1911, when the Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910 came into force, after the land was transferred to the Commonwealth government in 1909 to be used to form the Australian Capital Territory. It included what are now the southernmost Canberra suburbs of Banks, Conder, and Gordon, with the northern boundary near Tuggeranong Hill. It was bounded by the Murrumbidgee River in the west and Guises Creek in the south and south-east. It is one of the four former parishes of Murray County which became part of the ACT, along with Canberra, Narrabundah, and Yarrolumla. While other parishes lost land to the ACT, these were the only ones to lose all of the land within the parish. The Gigerline Nature Reserve is located in a similar region.

The Gudgenby River, a perennial river that is part of the Murrumbidgee catchment within the Murray–Darling basin, is located in the Australian Capital Territory, Australia.

Cuppacumbalong is an historic homestead located near the southern outskirts of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory. It is also the name of a former 4,000-acre (16 km2) sheep and cattle grazing property that surrounded the homestead near the junction of the Murrumbidgee and Gudgenby Rivers. The word Cuppacumbalong is Aboriginal in origin and means 'meeting of the waters'. One of the property's early owners Leopold Fane De Salis made a noteworthy contribution to political life during colonial times and furthermore, Cuppacumbalong has strong connections to the life of William Farrer, the father of the Australian wheat industry.

Tharwa is a village in the district of Paddys River, in the Australian Capital Territory in Australia. It is situated on the southern side of the Australian Capital Territory, 35 kilometres (22 mi) south of Canberra. At the 2021 census, Tharwa had a population of 82.The village is located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River and at the junction of Tidbinbilla and Naas Roads, and Tharwa Drive. The main public buildings are a general store, a preschool and primary school (now closed), Saint Edmund's Anglican Church, a cemetery, a community hall and tennis courts. The annual Tharwa Fair was hosted by the school, and was held in May until 2006. The Tharwa Fair is now organised by Tharwa Preschool.
