ACT for Mental Health, Inc. is a non-profit human services agency in downtown San Jose, California. ACT is a recipient of Jefferson Awards for Public Service. For more than 50 years ACT has been serving underserved communities with no-cost or low-cost social services without government funding primarily on donations.

Its primary tenant is the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League, for which the arena has earned the nickname "The Shark Tank". The Adobe World Headquarters is the corporate headquarters of Adobe Systems, located in San Jose, California.

San Jose Diridon station is the central passenger rail depot for San Jose, California. It also serves as a major intermodal transit center for Santa Clara County and Silicon Valley. The station is named after former Santa Clara County Supervisor Rod Diridon. The station is on the Union Pacific Coast Line tracks (formerly Southern Pacific) at 65 Cahill Street in San Jose. The depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its Italian Renaissance Revival style architectural and historical significance. The station is served by Caltrain, ACE, VTA light rail, and Amtrak trains. The bus plaza at the station is served by Amtrak Thruway Motorcoach, Greyhound, Megabus, Monterey-Salinas Transit, Santa Cruz Metro (Highway 17 Express), and VTA buses. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) metro service to a new underground station is projected to begin in 2029–2030 with the completion of the Silicon Valley BART extension.

The Hotel De Anza is a historic hotel in San Jose, California. At ten stories, it once was the tallest hotel in the San Jose central business district, prior to the construction of Hilton, Fairmont, and Marriott hotels. Significant for its architectural style, it is one of San Jose's few Zig Zag Moderne (Art Deco) buildings. The hotel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on January 21, 1982.

Children's Discovery Museum is an at-grade light rail station on the Blue Line of the VTA light rail system. The station platform runs along Woz Way (named after Apple founder Steve "Woz" Wozniak) and serves the Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, after which the station is named. Just south of this station, the Blue Line enters the median of California State Route 87.

The San Jose Center for the Performing Arts is located in Downtown San Jose, California. It was designed in 1972 by the Taliesin Associated Architects. It is now home to San Jose Dance Theatre and Broadway San Jose.

The Peralta Adobe (Spanish: Adobe Peralta), also known as the Luis María Peralta Adobe or the Gonzales-Peralta Adobe, is the oldest building in San Jose, California. The adobe was built in 1797 by José Manuel Gonzeles, one of the founders of San Jose, and is named after Luis María Peralta, its most famous resident.

Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose (CDM) is a cultural institution serving children, families, and schools in the Silicon Valley/San Francisco Bay Area. A member of the Association of Children's Museums and the Association of Science-Technology Centers, Children's Discovery Museum is located in downtown San Jose, California on Woz Way. The street is named after Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer whose nickname is "Woz." Wozniak was the single largest private donor during the original capital campaign that funded the museum. The museum opened its doors in 1990, and over 9 million visitors have visited. The museum builds and displays interactive exhibits that responds to early childhood education. The 52,000-square-foot (4,800 m2) purple building was designed by Mexico City-based architect Ricardo Legorreta, and houses 28,000-square-foot (2,600 m2) of gallery space as well as a half-acre outdoor nature play space opened in 2017. The museum's exhibits, programs and initiatives have received local, regional and national attention. Among its exhibits are a two life size Columbian mammoth replicas, authentic explorable vehicles including a fire engine and a Wells Fargo wagon, and five visual and performing arts spaces. The museum is known for its Cultural Celebrations series highlighting the culture and traditions of the diverse population groups represented in this majority minority region.Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose has been ranked by Child Magazine as one of the top 10 children's museums in the United States and ranked by the London Observer as one of the top 5 science centers in the world.

CreaTV San Jose (abbreviated CRTV) is a nonprofit organization based in San Jose, California, United States, that broadcasts several public-access television channels in San Jose and the surrounding Silicon Valley area. Under federal law, CreaTV receives a share of the gross revenue of local cable franchisees Comcast and AT&T, which amounted to $1.2 million in 2009.
