The Egbert Reasoner House (also known as Beth Salem) was an historic house located at 3004 53rd Avenue, East in Oneco, Florida. It was built in 1896 for Egbert Reasoner, a horticulturalist who was inducted into the initial 1980 class of "Florida Agricultural Hall of Fame" members. Reasoner and his brother founded Royal Palm Nurseries. He is credited with introducing the pink grapefruit to Florida. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1995. Despite this, it was demolished in 2015.

Lakewood Ranch High School in Manatee County, Florida, United States, was opened in 1998 in Bradenton, Florida. It is named after the master planned community it borders, Lakewood Ranch. In the 2011–2012 school year, Lakewood Ranch High School was awarded the two highest honors given by the Florida High School Athletic Association. The Mustangs placed first in the Academic Team Champions and the Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup, All Sports Award. Lakewood Ranch was the only public school in the State of Florida to win both awards. The school was in the news in 2015 when a teacher, Hollis Ann Morantes, was arrested on drug and child neglect charges after methamphetamine was found at her home in reach of her child. Morantes was placed on administrative leave and later resigned.

The Johnson Helm House, also known as the Helm-Nanney House, is an historic 3-story Richardsonian Romanesque style stone house located at 2104 53rd Avenue, East, State Road 70, in Oneco, near Bradenton, Manatee County, Florida. It was built for Johnson Helm, who was born April 4, 1860, in Delaware County, Indiana, and who settled on this land in 1877 with his parents, John M. Helm and Mary J. (Neely) Helm. John Helm is credited with grubbing the land to plant orange trees. He became a successful grower and a director of the county's first bank, the Bank of Manatee in Braidentown, as it was then called. His land was described as being "a few rods from the Oneca (sic) post office, five miles from Braidentown."The house, which is now owned by James P. Nanney and Margaret B. Nanney, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 2009.
