Llanynys

St Saeran's Church lies in the village of Llanynys, Denbighshire, Wales. It was listed by Cadw at Grade I on 19 July 1966 (Cadw Building ID: 808). Between 2013 and 2015 £2.5 million was spent preserving the church, which has one of the finest medieval paintings in North Wales. The church's former importance is today evidenced in the sheer size of the interior which is large and spacious; it had close links with the Bishops of Bangor, who were its "rectors" or owners. Like many Denbighshire churches it is double-naved and has a fine pair of the characteristically local late-medieval hammerbeam roofs. The fluted timber pillars between the naves are more unusual, and much later, dating from a restoration in 1768. The church was founded in the 6th century, but the site may be of Celtic origin, and was home to a clas or religious community; it was the mother church of southern Dyffryn Clwyd (the Vale of Clwyd). Unusually, it was dedicated to Saint Saeran, a Celtic bishop-saint who also gave his name to Ffynnon Sara.

Llanrhaiadr railway station was one mile from the village of Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Denbighshire, Wales. The station was opened on 1 March 1862 and closed on 2 February 1953. It was demolished in the 1970s and there is no trace of its existence today.

Llanychan is a parish near Llandyrnog, Denbighshire, Wales. Covering 567 acres (2.29 km2), it is the smallest parish in the diocese of St Asaph. It is approximately three miles northeast of Ruthin. There are only two churches in Wales consecrated to Sant Hychan, and Llanychan Church, after which the parish is named, is one of them. It is mentioned in the Norwich Tax Records in 1254. Its notable features include a window dating from 1626, a reading desk from 1730, and a reredos from 1846. The church was extensively restored in 1878.There was a school in the parish until the beginning of the 20th century.

Llandyrnog is a large village and community in Denbighshire, Wales lying in the valley of the River Clwyd, about 3 miles (4.8 km) from Denbigh and 5 miles (8.0 km) from Ruthin. The village has good road links to Denbigh and the main A541 road at Bodfari, and is served by buses number 76 and 53. The village contains the Church of St. Tyrnog's is a Grade II* listed building, and has a notable creamery on the outskirts and former hospital. The community includes the settlements of Waen, Ffordd-las and Llangwyfan.

Rhewl is a village on the A525 between Ruthin and Denbigh in the county of Denbighshire in Wales. The village is beside the River Clywedog, which is bridged by the A525. The village is notable for its football club, Rhewl F.C. Rhewl primary school was scheduled to be shut down in 2005, but protests by local newspapers and parents of the pupils saved the school from being closed. The village holds an annual Family Fun Day with live music, hog roast, displays and many more attractions. The village is also noted for the Drovers Arms public house and Lady Bagot's Drive, a picturesque two mile walk up the River Clywedog that was originally laid as a carriageway by Lord Bagot for his wife in Edwardian times to traverse between Rhewl and Bontuchel. Parts of the drive are privately owned. Rhewl railway station was on the line opened by the Denbigh, Ruthin and Corwen Railway and closed in 1962, three years before the line's closure. The station's main building is still in existence. Rhewl was to have another station on the narrow gauge Ruthin and Cerrig-y-Drudion Railway but construction was aborted after 8 km of earthworks had been built from Ruthin to a point just west of Bontuchel. The route was abandoned in 1884.

Rhewl railway station was a station in Rhewl, Llanynys, Denbighshire, Wales. The station was opened on 1 March 1862 and closed on 30 April 1962. The main station building and sections of the platform are still extant and in use as a private dwelling.

Commins is a small settlement of about half a dozen dwellings in Denbighshire, Wales. It is 4 kilometres (2 mi) north of the town of Ruthin.

Gellifor is a small village in the Vale of Clwyd, Wales. Located at the foot of the Clwydian Range, in the community of Llangynhafal, it is a largely residential settlement. Community facilities are limited but include a primary school and a chapel. The last shop and post office closed around 2000, and residents rely on the towns of Ruthin and Denbigh for access to many services. The population is over 200.

The Church of St Dyfnog, Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch, Denbighshire, Wales, is a parish church dating from the 13th century. The church is most famous for its Tree of Jesse window which dates from 1533. The church is a Grade I listed building.

Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch is a village and local government community in Denbighshire, Wales, including the villages of Llanrhaeadr and Pentre Llanrhaeadr and several hamlets, including Saron, Pant Pastynog, Prion, Peniel and part of Mynydd Hiraethog. It lies in the Vale of Clwyd near the A525 road between Denbigh and Ruthin. It was also known under the anglicised spellings of Llanrhaiadr in Kinmerch in the nineteenth century, and Llanrhaiadr yn Cinmerch, officially until 6 September 1968. The Community population taken at the 2011 census was 1,038. The medieval parish church of St Dyfnog contains a Tree of Jesse window, dating from 1533, described as "the finest glass window in all Wales, exceeded by few in England", which was originally part of Basingwerk Abbey near Holywell. Nearby is St Dyfnog's Well, once a destination for pilgrims.There is a primary school in a comparatively modern building, and the 16th-century King's Head public house in the village centre. Llanrhaiadr railway station served the village between 1862 and 1953.

Llwyn is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the preserved county of Clwyd, north Wales. It consists of two blocks of alder woodland at grid reference SJ 083 643 and SJ 082 649, about 2 miles (3 km) south-east of Denbigh and just north of the village of Llanrhaeadr. The site is on the floodplain of the Rivers Clywedog and Clwyd, and includes peat beds and swamps. It was notified in 1983 and 2001. Part of the site, some 9 acres (3.6 ha), is owned by the Woodland Trust and operated as a nature reserve.

Coed Nant Mawr is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the preserved county of Clwyd, north Wales. It is near to the town of Denbigh. The site is protected under statute by Natural Resources Wales under its ID 966 and code 31WDG and is one of 29 designated SSSIs in Denbighshire.
