Colony House (Keene, New Hampshire)

The Cheshire County Courthouse, located at 12 Court Street in Keene, New Hampshire, is the center of government of Cheshire County, New Hampshire. Completed in 1859 to a design by Gridley James Fox Bryant, it is believed to be the oldest courthouse in regular use in the state. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 13, 1978.

Grace United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist Church building at 34 Court Street in Keene, New Hampshire. Built in 1869, it was designed by architect Shepard S. Woodcock, and is one of the largest churches in southwestern New Hampshire. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Its congregation moved in 2009 and was disbanded in 2016, and the building is (as of 2018) undergoing renovation for use as professional offices.

The New Hampshire Superior Court is the statewide court of general jurisdiction which provides jury trials in civil and criminal cases. There are 11 locations of the Superior Court, one for each county and two in Hillsborough County.

The United Church of Christ in Keene (also known as The First Church or Church at the Head of the Square) is a historic Congregational church at 23 Central Square in Keene, New Hampshire, United States. First built in 1786, and then moved and restyled in the 19th century, it is a prominent visual and architectural landmark in downtown Keene. The church and its adjacent parish house were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Keene is a city in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 23,047 at the 2020 census, down from 23,409 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat and the only city in the county. Keene is home to Keene State College and Antioch University New England. It hosted the state's annual pumpkin festival from 1991 to 2014, several times setting a world record for most jack-o'-lanterns on display. The grocery wholesaler C&S Wholesale Grocers is based in Keene.

Colony's Block is a historic commercial building at 4-7 Central Square in the heart of Keene, New Hampshire. The five-story brick building was built in 1870 to a design by Worcester, Massachusetts, architects E. Boyden & Son, and is the city's most prominent example of Second Empire architecture. In addition to being a long-standing commercial center, the building housed the city library from 1870 to 1877. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Faulkner & Colony Woolen Mill is an historic mill building located at 222 West Street in Keene, New Hampshire. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 2020.The main building was constructed in 1838 and was subsequently expanded in 1859. The mill was named after Francis Faulkner and Josiah Colony, who owned multiple mills along the Ashuelot River. In addition to the main mill building, a former boarding house (built 1810) and a storehouse (built 1859) are included in the NRHP listing. The mill provided material for many uses, including to the U.S. military during the Civil War, World War I, and World War II.Mid-20th century developments in synthetics caused the mill to close in 1954, making it the longest running family-owned textile mill in the country. The property was converted to retail and office space in 1983 and was later converted into residential apartments.

The New Hampshire Pumpkin Festival (also known as the Keene Pumpkin Festival from 1991 to 2014, and the Laconia Pumpkin Festival in 2015; often referred to as Pumpkin Fest) is a pumpkin festival that is held in Laconia, New Hampshire, United States before Halloween. Each year, New Hampshire residents and citizens attempt to amass the largest number of lit jack-o'-lanterns in one place, trying to meet or beat the world record, which the city of Keene, New Hampshire—the festival's venue for its first 24 years—held for many years. The 24th festival in 2014 gained notoriety when parties held by Keene State College students in the area led to riots a relatively short distance from the festival grounds. This resulted in the Keene City Council rejecting the festival's annual permit for the following year. Laconia took over as the festival's host city in 2015, with the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce taking over from previous festival organizers, Let it Shine the following year after having assisted them in the 2015 festival. A new annual, scaled-down Keene Pumpkin Festival organized by Let it Shine—unrelated to the former one but promoted by the organizers as the "official" continuation of it—was first held on October 29, 2017, and has continued in this iteration ever since.

Keene State College is a public liberal arts college in Keene, New Hampshire. It is part of the University System of New Hampshire. Founded in 1909 as a teacher's college (originally, Keene Normal School; later, Keene Teachers College), Keene State College had 3,104 students enrolled for credit as of fall 2021.

The Dinsmoor–Hale House is a historic house at the southwest corner of Main and Winchester Streets in Keene, New Hampshire. It was built in 1860 for Samuel Dinsmoor, Jr., a lawyer and former Governor of New Hampshire, and was later owned by Governor Samuel W. Hale, who made lavish alterations to its interior. It was acquired by what is now Keene State College in 1909. It now houses the office of the college president. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The President's House of Keene State College, formerly the Catherine Fiske Seminary For Young Ladies, is a historic house at 251 Main Street in Keene, New Hampshire. Built in 1805 and restyled in the late 19th century, it is one of Keene's oldest brick residences, and now serves as the official residence of its president. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The Cohen Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies is one of the oldest Holocaust resource centers in the United States. Founded in 1983, the center is located at Keene State College in New Hampshire. The center was founded by Dr. Charles Hildebrandt.
