Turag River (Bengali: তুরাগ নদী; [t̪uraɡ nɔd̪i]) is the upper tributary of the Buriganga, a major river in Bangladesh. The Turag originates from the Bangshi River, the latter an important tributary of the Dhaleshwari River, flows through Gazipur and joins the Buriganga at Mirpur in Dhaka District. It is navigable by boat all year round. Turag suffers from infilling along its banks, which restricts its flow. It also suffers from acute water pollution. While attempts have been made to marginally widen the river, the majority of industry has made little effort to follow environmental law and the water has become visibly discolored.

The university was established according to the law of Private University Act 1992. It is affiliated by the University Grants Commission Bangladesh. A group of educationists and philanthropist has established this institute in the year 2002. PU is the first venture of the Prime Foundation. At present the university has ten undergraduate and eight graduate programs offered by the five faculties.

Bangladesh National Zoo, (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় চিড়িয়াখানা) is a zoo located in the Mirpur section of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The zoo contains many native and non-native animals and wild life, and hosts about three million visitors each year. The name of zoo has been changed from 5 February 2015 from Dhaka Zoo to Bangladesh National Zoo.Established in 1974, the 186-acre (75 ha) Dhaka Zoo is the largest zoo in Bangladesh, and is operated by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. The zoo attracts around 10,000 visitors every day with the number increasing during the weekends and holidays. The zoo is also known for its poor conditions for animals and the corruption of its officials.The yearly budget of Dhaka Zoo is Tk 37.5 million, out of which Tk 25 million is spent on feeding the animals.

Bangladesh University (BU) (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) is a non-profit, private university. Its main campus is located near the Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The university was established in 2001 under the Private University Act 1992. The university's founder was Quazi Azher Ali, who served as first vice chancellor of the university from 2001 to 2009.
