Darus Salam Thana is a thana, an administrative unit, of Dhaka District, Bangladesh.

Prime University (Bengali: প্রাইম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) or PU is a private university of the country located in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The university was established according to the law of Private University Act 1992. It is affiliated by the University Grants Commission Bangladesh. A group of educationists and philanthropist has established this institute in the year 2002. PU is the first venture of the Prime Foundation. At present the university has ten undergraduate and eight graduate programs offered by the five faculties.

It was founded in 1942 as a training centre for veterans of World War II. It runs under the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET). This government organization provides various courses to make people more skilful for their future workplace. It received grants from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the internal development agency of South Korea.

The main founder of this college is professor Kazi Nurul Islam Faruky. This college is also known as DCC. Dhaka Commerce College was awarded as the best private college in Bangladesh in 2019. The Higher Secondary course for Science also has been started at the 2019 - 2020 session.

Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (Bengali: বাংলাদেশ ইউনিভার্সিটি অব বিজনেস অ্যান্ড টেকনোলজি) or BUBT is a private university in Bangladesh, located in Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The university was established under the Private University Act 1992. BUBT is regulated by the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC). BUBT was founded in 2003 under the authority of the Private University Act and was approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh. It was modeled after North American universities. It started its operation in the Dhaka Commerce College campus, the founder organization of BUBT, in 2019 campus permanently shifted. Now It is running its all programs in its own campus at Rupnagar R/A, Mirpur 2. In 2011 UGC has ranked BUBT as one of the best eight private universities. Around 1,000 students were awarded with their graduate and post graduate degrees in the first convocation this year (2011). BUBT is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

Muhammadabad Islamia Alim Madrasah (Bengali: মুহাম্মদাবাদ ইসলামিয়া আলিম মাদরাসা) is an Alim (higher secondary) madrasa, situated in the Middle Paikpara of Mirpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1983. It has hostel facility for non-resident students, and various services for poor students. This institute arrange various kinds of cultural programs every year. The principal of this Madrasah, Rafiqul Islam, was awarded the "Best Principal of the Dhaka City" consecutively for three times.
