Portland Community College

Far Southwest is a neighborhood in the Southwest section of Portland, Oregon. It is bordered on the west by I-5; on the north by I-5, SW Pasadena St., and SW Pomona St.; on the east by SW 49th Ave. and Kerr Parkway; and on the south by SW Kruse Ridge Dr. and the southern border of the Portland Community College Sylvania Campus. The neighborhood is adjacent to the city of Tigard on the west, the neighborhoods of Ashcreek and Crestwood on the north, West Portland Park on the north and east, and the city of Lake Oswego on the east and south. The campus of PCC Sylvania occupies much of the neighborhood. Lesser Park (1988) is also located here.

Mount Sylvania is an extinct volcano, part of the Boring Lava Field, on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. Parts of the mountain are within the cities of Portland, Lake Oswego, and Tigard. The Sylvania campus of Portland Community College is located on the mountain's western slopes.

The Capitol Hill Library is a branch of the Multnomah County Library, in the West Portland Park neighborhood of Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. The branch offers the Multnomah County Library catalog of two million books, periodicals and other materials. Capitol Hill and the Holgate branch are of a similar design.

West Portland Park is a neighborhood in the Southwest section of Portland, Oregon. It lies between SW 53rd Ave. in the west and SW 35th Ave. in the east, and I-5 in the north and SW Stephenson St. (Portland city limits) in the south. (Two small sections extend further south, a parcel at the end of SW 47th Ave. and the "Kerr Site" between SW 39th Ave. and SW 37th Ave., following irregularities in Portland's southern border.) South of SW Pomona St., the western border is SW 49th Ave. The neighborhood borders Crestwood and Far Southwest to the west, Multnomah to the north, Markham and Arnold Creek to the east, and the city of Lake Oswego to the south. The northern part of the neighborhood is called Capitol Hill, site of the Capitol Hill Library, the Islamic Center of Portland, the Portland Rizwan Mosque (of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community), and the Islamic School of Portland. Jackson Middle School and Markham Elementary School are in West Portland Park. Public open space in the neighborhood includes the Kerr Site, which was purchased jointly by the City of Portland and City of Lake Oswego with the intent of eventually installing walking trails; Loll Wildwood, the Metro greenspace at the headwaters of Arnold Creek, formerly known as the West Portland Park Natural Area (purchased in 1995 for protection of wildlife habitat and water quality); and the Holly Farm Park, completed in 2007 after a partnership between the Parks Foundation, Portland Parks & Recreation, and the West Portland Park Neighborhood Association.

Masjed As-Saber is the largest mosque in Portland, Oregon, United States. Worship leader was [Sheikh Mohamed Abdirahman Kariye] who was mentioned frequently in the local news.

Crestwood is a neighborhood in the Southwest section of Portland, Oregon located between SW 45th Ave. and Barbur Blvd., adjacent to Multnomah and Ashcreek. Woods Memorial Natural Area is located here, a swath of urban wilderness visited on occasion by elk.

The Portland Oregon Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) located on 7 acres (28,000 m2) of land near the intersection of Highway 217 and I-5 in Lake Oswego, Oregon. The temple's architecture features six white spires and a white marble exterior accented with green marble trim and topped with a green slate roof. It is 80,500 square feet (7,480 m2) in area, with four ordinance rooms and fourteen sealing rooms.

Ashcreek is a Southwest Portland, Oregon neighborhood. It borders Maplewood to the north, Multnomah and Crestwood to the east, Far Southwest to the south, and the Washington County communities of Garden Home–Whitford and Tigard to the west. Though like the city itself it lies mostly in Multnomah County, it extends a short distance into Washington County in several places on its western side.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVF&R) is a special-purpose government fire fighting and emergency services district in the Portland metropolitan area of Oregon. Established in 1989 with a merger between Washington County Fire District 1 and the Tualatin Rural Fire Protection District, it primarily provides fire and emergency medical services in eastern Washington County, but also provides services in neighboring Multnomah, Clackamas, and Yamhill counties. It serves unincorporated areas along with the cities of Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, West Linn, Wilsonville, and Sherwood, among others. With over 400 firefighters and 27 fire stations, the district is the second largest fire department in the state and has an annual budget of $197 million.

Andrew Jackson High School was a public high school in Portland, Oregon, United States. It was in the Portland Public Schools and closed in 1982. The building is now used as Jackson Middle School, which uses the Artful Learning teaching philosophy.

Portland Seminary at George Fox University is a multi-denominational, university-based school that offers a variety of master's degree and postgraduate degree programs in theology and ministry, located in Portland, Oregon. The Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada granted the seminary full accreditation in 1974. It remains a fully accredited member to present. The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities also certifies the seminary's programs.

InFocus Corporation is an American privately owned company based in the state of Oregon. Founded in 1986, the company develops, manufactures, and distributes DLP and LCD projectors and accessories as well as large-format touch displays, software, LED televisions, tablets and smartphones. InFocus also offers video calling services. Formerly a NASDAQ listed public company, InFocus was purchased by Image Holdings Corp., owned by John Hui, in 2009 and is now a wholly owned subsidiary headquartered in Tigard, Oregon.
