The Casa de Moneda de la República Argentina is the Argentine mint, controlled by the Argentine government and administratively subordinated to the Ministry of Economy. It was established in 1875 as "Casa de Moneda de la Nación".It produces legal tender coins and banknotes. It also produces medals and security prints (i.e., passports, subway tokens, postage stamps) that are used and issued by government-run service providers. The present currency printed is the Argentine peso, since 1992.

A fast ferry service operated by Buquebus and Ferrylíneas operates short routes to and from the Uruguayan cities of Colonia del Sacramento and Montevideo; Sturla transports tourists to and from Tigre, a popular weekend destination. The Benito Quinquela Martín Terminal, inaugurated in 2000, served 120 cruise ship arrivals with a total of 100,000 visitors in 2010.Quinquela Martín was a local Realist painter known for his use of the port and its workers as imagery.

Located in the neighborhood of Retiro, it serves as terminal station for the San Martín Line that runs local trains to the northwestern suburbs of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. It also functions as terminal station for the national train General San Martín Railway.

Located in the neighborhood of Retiro, it serves as terminal station for the Belgrano Norte Line that runs local trains to the northern suburbs of the Buenos Aires metropolitan area. It also functions as terminal station for the national cargo train General Belgrano Railway. Built in 1912, its Beaux-Arts design makes it one of the most recognizable landmarks of french neoclassicism in the country. The terminal is the fourth-busiest train station in Argentina.

Plaza Fuerza Aérea Argentina (Spanish for "Argentine Air Force Square") is a square located in the barrio (district) of Retiro in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The square is located between the Retiro railway station on Avenida Dr. José María Ramos Mejía, Avenida San Martín and Avenida del Libertador. It was designed and built in the 1940s and inaugurated on January 4, 1945. Originally called Plaza Británica ("British Square"), its name was changed in 1982 to the current one, by paying homage to the Argentine Air Force after the Falklands War, which was its first war against an external enemy. However, some still refer to it by its old name and also Plaza de los Ingleses ("English Square"), although the latter name was never used officially. The Torre Monumental (formerly "Torre de los Ingleses"), is located in the center of the square.

Torre Monumental (Spanish for "Monumental Tower"), formerly known as Torre de los Ingleses ("Tower of the English"), is a clock tower located in the barrio (district) of Retiro in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is situated in the Plaza Fuerza Aérea Argentina (formerly Plaza Britannia) by San Martín Street and Avenida del Libertador. It was a gift from the local British community to the city in commemoration of the centennial of the May Revolution of 1810. After the Falklands War in 1982, the tower's original name was dropped, though some still call it Torre de los Ingleses.
