Jieshou Park

Ketagalan Boulevard (Chinese: 凱達格蘭大道; pinyin: Kǎidágélán Dàdào) is an arterial road in Zhongzheng District in Taipei, Taiwan, between the Presidential Office Building and the East Gate (東門). It is 400 meters (1,300 ft) long and has a total of ten lanes in each direction with no median.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) (MOFA; Chinese: 中華民國外交部; pinyin: Zhōnghuá Mínguó Wàijiāobù; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tiong-hôa Bîn-kok Gōa-kau-pō͘) is a ministry of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Governed as the cabinet level policy-making body under the Executive Yuan since 1928, the fundamental purpose of the ministry is to promote, expand, and conduct bilateral foreign affairs with other nations. Though the ministry was founded on 1 January 1912 when the Republic was founded, the ministry dates its origins on 11 March 1861 as the Office in Charge of Affairs Concerning All Nations in the Qing dynasty. The current Foreign Minister is Joseph Wu. The MOFA headquartered in Zhongzheng District in Taipei. The agency is in charge of interactions between the Republic of China and foreign countries except the People's Republic of China, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Mainland Affairs Council. It is responsible for formulating foreign policies, decisions, foreign affairs documents, and statements in regard to the ROC. It also negotiates and signs bilateral and multilateral foreign treaties and agreements. The agency also dispatches foreign affairs and TECRO representatives to other countries.

The Bo'ai Special Zone is a restricted zone in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan, which was established to protect the Presidential Office Building. As part of the historical center of Taipei, the zone also houses several critical government office buildings as well as historic sites.

Taipei First Girls High School (TFG; Chinese: 臺北市立第一女子高級中學; colloquially 北一 or 北一女), is a Taiwanese all-girls senior high school, located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City. Accepting only the top scorers in the national Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students, it is one of the most prestigious high schools in the country. TFG counts among its alumnae esteemed researchers, industry leaders, doctors, writers, and politicians. Its male counterpart is the Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School.

The Taipei Guest House (Chinese: 臺北賓館; pinyin: Táiběi Bīnguǎn) is the historical building located at 1 Ketagalan Boulevard, Bo'ai Special Zone, Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is owned by the Government of the Republic of China and used as a state guest house for receiving state guests or celebration activities.

The 228 Peace Memorial Park is a historic site and municipal park located at 3 Ketagalan Boulevard, Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. The park contains memorials to victims of the February 28 Incident of 1947, including the 228 Memorial Monument that stands at the center of the park and the Taipei 228 Memorial Museum, housed at the site of a former radio station that operated under Japanese and Kuomintang rule. The National Taiwan Museum stands at the park's north entrance. The park also has a bandshell and exercise areas.

The Presidential Office Building is the work place of the President of the Republic of China on Taiwan. The building, located in the Zhongzheng District in the national capital — Taipei, was designed by architect Uheiji Nagano during the period of Japanese rule of Taiwan (1895–1945). The structure originally housed the Office of the Governor-General of Taiwan. Damaged in Allied bombing during World War II, the building was restored after the war by Chen Yi, the Governor-General of Taiwan Province. It became the Presidential Office in 1950 after the government of the Republic of China lost control of mainland China and relocated the nation's capital to Taipei at the end of the Chinese Civil War. At present, this Baroque-style building is a symbol of the Government and a famous historical landmark in downtown Taipei.

The Judicial Yuan (Chinese: 司法院; pinyin: Sīfǎ Yuàn; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Su-hoat Īⁿ) is the judicial branch of the Taiwanese government. It runs a Constitutional Court and oversees all systems of courts of Taiwan, including ordinary courts like the supreme court, high courts, district courts as well as special courts like administrative courts and disciplinary courts. By Taiwanese law, the Judicial Yuan holds the following powers: Interpretation – Constitutional Court interprets the Constitution and other statutes and regulations by either the central government or local governments. Adjudicate – Most civil, criminal, and administrative cases are adjudicated by the respective courts supervised by the Judicial Yuan. The Constitutional Court adjudicate Presidential impeachment and political party dissolution cases. Discipline – Disciplinary measures with respect to public functionaries are adjudicated by the Disciplinary court. Judicial Administration – The Judicial Yuan supervises all courts established by Taiwanese law.According to the current Constitution, the Constitutional Court comprises 15 justices. One justice acts as the President of the court, and another acts as the Vice President. All justices, including the President and Vice President, are appointed by the President of the Republic with the consent of the Legislative Yuan. Upon appointment justices have a term limit of eight years, but this term limit does not apply to the President and Vice President.

The Judicial Building (Chinese: 司法大廈; pinyin: Sīfǎ Dàxià; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Su-hoat Tāi-hā) is a governmental building in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. It houses several judicial agencies of Taiwan, including Judicial Yuan — the judiciary and constitutional court of the government of the Republic of China on Taiwan, Taiwan High Court, Taiwan High Prosecutors Office, and Disciplinary Sanction Court.

The National Central Library (NCL; Chinese: 國家圖書館; pinyin: Guójiā Túshūguǎn) is the national library of the Republic of China (Taiwan), which is located at No. 20, Zhongshan S. Rd., Zhongzheng District, Taipei City 10001, Taiwan. It will soon have a subsidiary called Southern Branch of the National Central Library & National Repository Library.

Kikumoto Department Store (Japanese: 菊元百貨店), also known as Juyuan Department Store (Chinese: 菊元百貨), was a department store in Sakaechō, Taihoku (now Zhongzheng District, Taipei), Taiwan. It was founded by the Japanese entrepreneur Shigeta Eiji on November 28, 1932, and officially opened on December 3. Along with Hayashi Department Store in Tainan and Yoshii Department Store in Takao (now Kaoshiung), Kikumoto was one of the three major department stores in Taiwan during its Japanese colonial period. It was the first department store in Taiwan. Nicknamed "seven-storied sky" (Chinese: 七重天) for its seven-story building, Kikumoto Department Store was the second tallest structure in Taiwan, surpassed only by the Presidential Office Building. The department store introduced some of the most advanced facilities in Taiwan, including the first commercial passenger elevator, and became the symbol of prosperity in Sakaechō. After World War Two, the department store was taken over by the Nationalist Government and continued to operate until its closure in 1979. The department store building was officially designated a Historic Building of Taiwan in 2017.

University of Taipei (UT; Chinese: 臺北市立大學; lit. 'Taipei Municipal University') is an institution of higher education in Taipei, Taiwan. It has two campuses in Taipei metropolitan area and is the only university under the administration of Taipei City Government.Established by the merger of Taipei Municipal University of Education and the Taipei Physical Education College in August 2013, University of Taipei can trace its roots into the late 19th century.
