Queen Mary's Grammar School (QMGS) is a boys' grammar school with academy status located on Sutton Road, Walsall, England, about a mile from the town centre and one of the oldest schools in the country. The sixth form is coeducational.

Walsall Arboretum is a Victorian public park located close to Walsall town centre in the West Midlands of England. Part of the park and surrounding housing are covered by the Arboretum conservation area. In the early 2010s, the park has undergone a major restoration and redevelopment programme funded largely by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The school is owned and operated by Cognita, the largest independent schools provider in the UK.Hydesville Tower School, which overlooks Walsall Arboretum, was established in 1952. It comprises a nursery, prep school and senior school and is the only coeducational independent school in Walsall to offer secondary education.The school curriculum includes the core subjects of English, mathematics and science, French, German, Spanish, geography, history, art, business studies, ICT, religious studies, music and physical education. The PE department makes use of the sports facilities at the nearby Walsall Campus of the University of Wolverhampton. Elocution is part of the Prep School timetable and personal, social and health education (PSHE) is delivered to pupils in the senior school.

Blue Coat Church of England Academy (formerly Blue Coat Church of England Comprehensive School) is a mixed Church of England secondary school and sixth form located in Walsall in the West Midlands of England.

Gorway Ground is a cricket ground in Walsall, Staffordshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1889, when Walsall Cricket Club played Wednesbury. The first Minor Counties Championship match was held at the ground in 1912 and saw Staffordshire played Durham. Staffordshire used the ground during a number of periods in the 20th century, using the ground for home matches up to 2007. During this time, the ground hosted 27 Minor Counties Championship matches and 5 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches.A combined Minor Counties team has used the ground for 2 List-A matches, the first of which came in the 1986 Benson and Hedges Cup against Warwickshire and the second of which came in the 1997 version of the competition against Lancashire. Staffordshire have used the ground for a single List-A match, which came against the Somerset Cricket Board in the 2000 NatWest Trophy, which is the last List-A match held on the ground to date. In local domestic cricket, Gorway Ground is the home ground of Walsall Cricket Club who play in the Birmingham and District Premier League.

Highgate is a small village located within the Walsall Ring Road. The village was constructed in the Victorian era for the wealthy, and has developed a reputation as one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in Walsall for house prices.

St Matthew's Church (formerly All Saints' Church) is a Church of England parish church in Walsall, West Midlands, England. It was rebuilt in 1820-1821 by Francis Goodwin, but includes remains of the earlier church built around 1220 and dedicated to All Saints. It is a Grade II* listed building, and on Historic England's Heritage at Risk Register. The church was rededicated to St Matthew when rebuilt. The church is the oldest building in Walsall and serves as the main parish church of the town. It sits at a high elevation above the town on a hill and can be seen when entering the town.The first Rector, Magister Serlo De Sunning, was appointed by King John in 1211. From 1248 until 1538 appointments of Rector were given to Halesowen Abbey. Since then, appointments were made by the Earl of Bradford and transferred to the Bishop of Lichfield in 1945. The east window commemorates Sister Dora and the stained glass is the work of Burlison and Grylls.

Queen Mary's High School, situated on Upper Forster Street, just outside Walsall town centre, is an all-female selective-education and grammar school and entry in Year 7 is by passing an entrance exam. It is twinned with Queen Mary's Grammar School, and like the Grammar School is part of the Queen Mary's Foundation. The main body of the school is girls only, but the Sixth Form is open to applicants of both sexes conditional on a minimum grade achievement at GCSE (no fewer than 7 GCSEs above 'B' Grade). This policy is similar to that of Queen Mary's Grammar School. However, there are a very small number of males who attend the school- no more than ten in a school of 1000.The school gained an outstanding level in the Ofsted report when it was last inspected in 2007.The school was a Language College and it is compulsory for pupils to take Mandarin, French, German, or Spanish from year seven to GCSE level; Japanese had until recently also been an option. In Year 8, pupils begin studying an additional language. Pupils visit Spain, France or Germany in Year 8, according to which of these languages they are studying. The school also sponsors exchanges with schools in Germany and Japan. Pupils can also take Latin or Greek every three years as an extra-curricular activity, culminating in an additional GCSE.Class sizes in the lower school are currently around 24 girls, with Design Technology classes being in groups of 16. However, Year 7 of the 13/14 academic year, and all subsequent years, have class sizes of around 30, as the school has increased the number of students it can take. Sixth-form classes have a minimum of about 8 students and a maximum of 20. The school is divided into houses named after famous 19th-century female authors - Austen (after Jane Austen), Bronte (after Emily Brontë), Eliot (after George Eliot) and Shelley (after Mary Shelley), the latter being a new house in the 2012/13 academic year. Each house has a member of staff in charge of it, a captain from Year 13 (upper sixth form) and a vice-captain from Year 12 (lower sixth form). Alumni of the school include Meera Syal.

Mellish Road Methodist Chapel was a grade II listed Methodist chapel in Mellish Road, Walsall, England, built in 1910.The building was of limestone ashlar, with some exposed brick, and cost £3,600.In the 1990s, subsidence caused by the flooding of disused mine-workings beneath the chapel caused a significant crack to appear in its walls. It was declared unsafe and abandoned. An arson attack in 2008 further weakened it, and – after being de-listed – it was demolished in 2011.During demolition, its 50 feet (15 m) octagonal limestone spire was carefully dismantled and later, in 2015, offered for sale, with the initial asking price of £130,000.The chapel's records are in the Walsall Local History Centre.

Walsall Central Library is a public library situated in the town centre of Walsall in the West Midlands, in the United Kingdom. It is part of 7 branch libraries and a mobile library service, and was officially opened to the public in 1906. The Central Library comprises a lending library, reference library, learning centre and children's library. It holds information in various formats and languages: books, journals, newspapers and magazines, and there are computer facilities available.
