Nikita Botanical Garden (Russian: Никитский ботанический сад, Ukrainian: Нікітський ботанічний сад) is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe. It is located in Crimea, close to Yalta, by the shores of the Black Sea. It was founded in 1812 and named after the settlement Nikita in Crimea, Russian Empire. Its founder and first director was Russian botanist Christian von Steven of Swedish descent. The garden and its collections were greatly expanded by the Livonian Nicolai Anders von Hartwiss, director 1827–1860. The total area is 11 square kilometres. It is a scientific research centre, a producer of saplings and seeds, and a tourist attraction. The garden opened a representative office in Damascus in 2022.The garden was the part of the Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences. It has subsidiaries in Crimea and Kherson Oblast. Its collection counts over 50,000 species, sorts and hybrides. Its scientific work consists in study of natural flora, collection of gene fund, selection and introduction of new agricultural plants for south Ukraine, Russia, and other countries.

Cape Martian Reserve (Ukrainian: Мис Мартьян), also known as Cape Martyan Reserve, is a nature reserve located on the southern coast of the Crimean Peninsula, near the Ukrainian city of Yalta and the Nikitsky Botanical Gardens. Established to protect its unique ecosystem and biodiversity, the reserve is home to many plant and animal species, some of which are specific to the Mediterranean climate of the region. Given its ecological importance, it plays a role in conservation and scientific research. Its picturesque landscapes overlooking the Black Sea also make it a point of interest for nature enthusiasts.

Otradnoye or Vidradne (Ukrainian: Відрадне; Russian: Отрадное; Crimean Tatar: Mağaraç) is an urban-type settlement in the Yalta municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and annexed by Russia as the Republic of Crimea.Vidradne is located on Crimea's southern shore at an elevation of 68 metres (223 ft). The settlement is located 9 km (5.6 mi) southeast from the town of Massandra, which it is administratively subordinate to. Its population was 582 at the 2001 Ukrainian census. Danylivka (Ukrainian: Данилівка; Russian: Даниловка) is a rural settlement in the Yalta Municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and annexed by Russia as the Republic of Crimea.In 1928, the settlement was known as the Ay Danil sovkhoz (Ukrainian: Ай-Даніль; Crimean Tatar: Ay Danil, probably from medieval Greek Άη Δανιήλ, Ai-Daniyl, Saint Daniel), belonging to the Hurzuf Settlement Council of the Yalta Raion. Following the forced deportation of the Crimean Tatars in 1944, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR published a decree on May 18, 1948 renaming the settlement along with many others throughout Crimea from their native Crimean Tatar names to their current variants.Danylivka is located on Crimea's southern shore at an elevation of 134 metres (440 ft). The settlement is located 6 km (3.7 mi) southeast from Hurzuf, which it is administratively subordinate to. Its population was 474 in the 2001 Ukrainian census. Liniine (Ukrainian: Лінійне; Russian: Линейное; Crimean Tatar: Lineynoye) is a rural settlement in the Yalta Municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and annexed by Russia as the Republic of Crimea.Liniine is located on Crimea's southern shore at an elevation of 216 metres (709 ft). The settlement is located 5 km (3.1 mi) southwest from Hurzuf, which it is administratively subordinate to. Its population was 31 in the 2001 Ukrainian census. Current population: 30 (2014 Census).

Partyzanske (Ukrainian: Партизанське; Russian: Партизанское; Crimean Tatar: Partizanskoye) is a rural settlement in the Yalta Municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and annexed by Russia as the Republic of Crimea.Partyzanske is located on Crimea's southern shore at an elevation of 362 metres (1,188 ft). The settlement is located 5 km (3.1 mi) southwest from Hurzuf, which it is administratively subordinate to. Its population was 94 in the 2001 Ukrainian census. Current population: 65 (2014 Census).

It is administratively subordinate to the Massandra Settlement Council. Its population was 384 in the 2001 Ukrainian census. Current population: 466 (2014 Census).

Sovietske (Ukrainian: Совєтське; Russian: Советское) or Dolossy (Ukrainian: Долосси; Crimean Tatar: Dolossı) is an urban-type settlement in the Yalta Municipality of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine and annexed by Russia as the Republic of Crimea.The settlement was first founded in 1929 after the creation of the "Dolossi" resort hotel. Sovietske is located on Crimea's southern shore at an elevation of 458 metres (1,503 ft). It is administratively subordinate to the Massandra Settlement Council. Its population was 511 in the 2001 Ukrainian census. Current population: 670 (2014 Census).

Massandra or Masandra (Crimean Tatar: Massandra; Russian: Массандра; Ukrainian: Масандра) is an urban-type settlement in the Yalta Municipality in Crimea. Occupying the spot of an ancient Greek settlement (Tavrida-Ταυρίδα), Masandra was acquired by Counts Potocki in 1783. In the mid-19th century, it passed to Prince Vorontsov Jr, whose father was the governor of New Russia. Enraptured by a picturesque setting, Vorontsov in 1881 engaged a team of French architects to design for him a château in the Louis XIII style. He died the following year and construction work was suspended until 1889, when the messuage was purchased by Alexander III of Russia. The tsar asked architect Maximilian Messmacher to finish the palace for his own use but he did not live to see it completed in 1900. During the Soviet years, the palace was employed by Joseph Stalin as his dacha. Today, Masandra is known for its viniculture and production of dessert and fortified wines. The Massandra Winery was founded by Prince Lev Golitsyn in 1894. The enoteca of the winery contains about one million bottles of wine.A minor planet, 3298 Massandra, discovered in 1979 by N. Chernykh at Nauchnyj, is named after the settlement.

Yalta (Russian and Ukrainian: Я́лта) is a resort city on the south coast of the Crimean Peninsula surrounded by the Black Sea. It serves as the administrative center of Yalta Municipality, one of the regions within Crimea. Yalta, along with the rest of Crimea, is internationally recognised as part of Ukraine, and is considered part of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. However, it is under the control of Russia, which annexed Crimea in 2014 and regards the town as part of the Republic of Crimea. According to the most recent census, its population was 76,746 (2014 Census).The city is located on the site of the ancient Greek colony of Yalita. It is said to have been founded by the Greek settlers who were looking for a safe shore (Γιαλός, yalos in Greek) on which to land. It is situated on a deep bay facing south towards the Black Sea, surrounded by the mountain range Ai-Petri. It has a humid subtropical climate and is surrounded by numerous vineyards and orchards.The area became famous when the city held the Yalta Conference as part of the Allied World War II conferences in 1945. The term "Greater Yalta" is used to designate a part of the Crimean southern coast spanning from Foros in the west to Gurzuf in the east and including the city of Yalta and multiple adjacent urban settlements.

Yalta City Municipality (Russian: Я́лтинский городско́й сове́т; Ukrainian: Я́лтинська міська́ ра́да; Crimean Tatar: Yalta şeer şurası, Ялта шеэр шурасы), officially "the territory governed by the Yalta city council", also known as Greater Yalta (Russian: Большая Ялта) is one of the 25 regions of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a territory recognized by a majority of countries as part of Ukraine but forcibly incorporated into Russia after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014. It is a resort region, located at the southern shore of Crimea – one of the most famous recreational territories of the former Soviet Union. Population: 133,675 (2014 Census).
