Carpenters Island is an island in the Little Tennessee River in Loudon County, Tennessee. It is shown on United States Geographical Survey map USGS Meadow quad. The nearest major town is Loudon, Tennessee. One early official mention of it is in Examination and Survey of Little Tennessee River, Tennessee, U.S. House of Representatives Document No. 66, 56th Congress, 2nd Session, 1900, plate 1.

Morganton was a community that developed on the Little Tennessee River in Loudon County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. It was located 13.7 miles (22.0 km) above the mouth of the river at its confluence with Bakers Creek, flowing westward from Maryville. During its heyday in the 19th century, Morganton thrived as a flatboat port and regional business center. An important ferry operated at Morganton for nearly 170 years providing service across the river. The abandoned townsite was submerged in the late 20th century by creation of Tellico Lake, part of the Tellico Dam hydroelectric project completed in 1979 by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Due largely to the decline in river trade that occurred in the mid-19th century following construction of railroads in East Tennessee, Morganton was mostly deserted by the late 1960s. This was when the TVA began buying up property to prepare for construction of Tellico Dam. Since the flooding of the lake area, the Morganton Cemetery, which overlooks the former townsite, is all that remains of the community. A road and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency boat ramp are named for Morganton.

Rarity Bay is a golf course community and census-designated place (CDP) in Loudon and Monroe counties, Tennessee, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. its population during the census was 885. It is in the southern part of Loudon County and the northern part of Monroe County, occupying a peninsula in Tellico Reservoir, with the Little Tennessee River to the southeast and the cove of Bat Creek to the northwest. Tennessee State Route 72 runs along the western edge of the CDP, leading south 2.5 miles (4.0 km) to U.S. Route 411 in Vonore and north 10 miles (16 km) to Loudon.

Tellico Village is an unincorporated planned community, and census-designated place on the western shore of Tellico Reservoir in Loudon County, Tennessee, United States, about 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Knoxville. Its population was 5,791 as of the 2010 census and and 7,311 at the 2020 census. Tellico Village is a planned retirement community. Governmental functions are managed by the Tellico Village Property Owners Association.

The Greenback Depot is a former railroad station located in Greenback, Tennessee, United States. Built in 1914 by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad (L&N), the depot served rail freight and passengers traveling in and out of the Greenback area until 1954. Restored for use as a community events center by Ronald Edmondson in the early 2010s, the depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013 in recognition of its role in the area's transportation history.

Mialoquo (also "Malaquo", "Big Island", or "Great Island") is a prehistoric and historic Native American site in Monroe County, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States. The site saw significant periods of occupation during the Mississippian period (c. 1000-1600 AD) and later as a Cherokee refugee village. While the archaeological site of Mialoquo (Cherokee: ᎠᎹᏰᎴᏆ, romanized: Amayelequa) was situated on the southwest bank of the Little Tennessee River, the village's habitation area probably included part of Rose Island, a large island in the river immediately opposite the site. Rose Island was occupied on at least a semi-permanent basis as early as the Middle Archaic period. Both the Mialoquo site and Rose Island are now submerged by the Tellico Lake impoundment of the Little Tennessee River. The area is now managed by the Tennessee Valley Authority and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Both sites are visible looking north from the U.S. Route 411 bridge over the river in Vonore or looking west from Wildcat Point, a cliff on the eastern bank of the river.

Craigs Chapel AME Zion Church is a historic church in Greenback, Tennessee. Craigs Chapel is one of several historic African-American churches in rural Tennessee that had a black school and a cemetery located alongside the church, on the same plot of land. The church was built in 1896 and was followed by an elementary school in 1899 and the cemetery in 1903.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Greenback is a city in Loudon County, Tennessee, United States. Its population was at 1,102, according to the 2020 census. It is included in the Knoxville Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Cloyd's Creek Presbyterian Church is a historic church in Greenback, Tennessee. Its Greek Revival building was completed in 1872, replacing an older log building. It is a gable-front frame building and has a full-width portico with Doric columns on its main facade. It is the only 19th-century Greek Revival church in Blount County and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

The Tellico River is a river in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee. It rises in the westernmost mountains of North Carolina, and then flows through Monroe County, Tennessee, before joining the Little Tennessee River under the Tellico Reservoir. With a length of 52.8 miles (85.0 km), it is a major tributary of the Little Tennessee River, and is one of the primary streams draining the Unicoi Mountains. The Tellico River and its main tributaries are renowned for their brook, brown, and rainbow trout fishing. Upstream from Tellico Lake, above Tellico Plains, Tennessee, the Tellico is a premier trout stream. It meanders through a mountain gorge before reaching the broad plains downstream of Tellico Plains.

Vonore is a town in Monroe County and Blount County, Tennessee, in the southeastern portion of the state. The population was 1,574 as of the 2020 census. The city hall, library, community center, police department, and fire department are located on Church Street.

Hackney Chapel AME Zion Church, also known as Unitia AME Zion Church, is a historic African-American church in rural Loudon County, Tennessee. The adjacent cemetery has about 100 marked graves and up to 200 unmarked graves. The church and cemetery were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
