Oxford Main Street Historic District

Oxford is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 13,347 as of the 2020 United States Census.

Oxford is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Oxford in Worcester County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 6,103 at the 2010 census.

Camp Hill was an encampment site of the Provisional Army of the United States that existed from 1799 to 1800 in Oxford, Massachusetts. A marker placed by the General Ebenezer Learned chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution commemorates the encampment of Colonel Nathan Rice's regiment in those years. The camp was visited by Alexander Hamilton as the Senior Officer of the United States Army in 1800.

Hodges Village Dam, a United States Army Corps of Engineers flood control project on the French River (Massachusetts) in Oxford, Massachusetts was built in 1959 as a response to the 1936 floods which took lives and caused tremendous property damage in the Thames River basin of Connecticut. The western side of the French River is open to hunting, fishing, hiking, and boating. There are more than 18.2 miles of hiking trails on the property, as well as motorized bike trails on the west side of the river. ATV's and quads are restricted from the area. However, motorized bikes are allowed only on the west side of the river. There is a frisbee golf course that runs alongside the dam. The 90 mile Midstate Trail passes through the project. Hodges Village Dam is managed as a unit with the nearby Buffumville Lake.

Oxford High School is a public high school in Oxford, Massachusetts. The school is operated by the Oxford Public Schools district. Before the new building on Carbuncle Drive, the original Oxford High on Main Street was designed in 1906 by the architecture firm Cutting, Carleton & Cutting.

The Huguenot Fort is a historic fortification site on Fort Hill Road in Oxford, Massachusetts.

The Hudson House is a historic First Period house in Oxford, Massachusetts. It is a 2+1⁄2-story timber-frame house, five bays wide, with a side gable roof, central chimney, and clapboard siding. The main facade is symmetrical. with a modern central entrance in the Georgian Revival style, with sidelights and pilasters at the sides, and an entablature above. The house has a section that was probably built c. 1720 by William Hudson, one of the first English settlers of Oxford. It was probably extended from three bays to five later in the 18th century. It remained in Hudson family hands until about 1960. It is believed to be Oxford's oldest standing building*.As a added point the first meeting house in Oxford MA, still stands to this day traced back to 1713 as it's build date. But the Local historic society doesn't want to recognize this as this takes away from one of their members making $ off claiming her house is oldest in town. Look up Daniel White and Benjamin White 1713-1756 range The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Bartlett's Bridge is a historic stone arch bridge carrying Clara Barton Road over the French River in Oxford, Massachusetts. Built in 1889, it is a rare example of late 19th-century stone bridge construction in the state. It was originally built to provide improved capacity for vehicles servicing a nearby textile mill complex. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Buffumville Lake is a 200-acre (0.81 km2), 5.2-billion-US-gallon (20,000,000 m3) capacity United States Army Corps of Engineers flood control lake project located in Charlton, Massachusetts. The lake and surrounding grounds are open to the public for hiking, boating, fishing, and hunting. A 27-hole frisbee golf course is located next to the lake. Buffumville Lake is managed as a unit with the nearby Hodges Village Dam flood control project. The 92-mile (148 km) Midstate Trail is accessible from the north end of the lake.

The Clara Barton Homestead, also known as the Clara Barton Birthplace Museum, is a historic house museum at 60 Clara Barton Road in Oxford, Massachusetts. The museum celebrates the life and activities of Clara Barton (1821-1912), founder of the American Red Cross. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The museum is open seasonally, or by appointment. It has been restored to the period when Barton lived there.

The Barton Center for Diabetes Education is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, located in North Oxford, Massachusetts, dedicated to the education of children living with diabetes and their families and caregivers through year-round programs. The mission is to improve the lives of children with insulin-dependent diabetes through education, recreation, and support programs which inspire and empower.
