St Andrew's Church, Handsworth

The Old Town Hall is a historic building on the corner of College Road and Slack Lane in Handsworth, West Midlands, a suburb of Birmingham in England. The building, part of which is currently used as the headquarters of the Handsworth Historical Society, is a Grade II listed building.

King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy is a secondary school and sixth form located in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, England. The building that the school currently occupies used to be known as Handsworth Wood Boys' School but it went through a change over ten years ago. The headteacher is Mr Qamar Riaz. Originally known as Handsworth Wood Girls School, in November 2012 the school converted to academy status and was renamed Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy. In September 2018 the school joined the Foundation of the Schools of King Edward VI and was renamed King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy.

The Anchorage is a Grade II* listed building in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, England.It was built in 1899, to Arts and Crafts-style designs by Joseph Crouch and Edmund Butler, as a house for Alfred Constantine, a manufacturing jeweller. At the time, the area was in Staffordshire. The building is made of brick, with stone dressing and applied timber framing. The roof is tiled, with an off-centre cupola.A fire in around 1977 burnt the main hall's minstrels' gallery and a set of murals, The Hunt and Feast, by Fred Davis. Other interior fittings include metal work by a member of the Bromsgrove Guild, possibly Benjamin Creswick, and embroidery by Mary Newill, who also made stained glass for some of the windows.The building was granted protection from unauthorised alteration through Grade II* listed designation on 8 July 1982.One of its attached garages has been converted into a self contained dwelling under the direction of HDA Architecture. From 1983 to 2019 the building was occupied by the Jesus Fellowship Church as one of its Community Houses.

The Red Lion is a disused public house on Soho Road, in the Handsworth district of Birmingham, England. A pub has stood on the site since 1829. The then building was purchased by the Holt Brewery in 1893 and the current building was erected for them in 1901 by the local architects James and Lister Lea. It was taken over by Ansells on their acquisition of Holt in 1934. The three-storey building, in brick with a brick and two-tone terracotta facade, a Welsh slate roof and a polygonal corner tower surmounted by a cupola., was granted grade II listed protection in January 1985.Having closed in 2008, the pub was put up for auction in October 2014, but failed to sell. As of December 2015, it is unused, and is considered "at risk" by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), and by Historic England, who placed it on their Heritage at Risk Register for 2015. It retains what CAMRA have described as: a spectacular interior including floor–to-ceiling tiles in passages, ornate bar fittings, four tiled paintings, and panelled 'coffee room'... and a magnificent bar back of mahogany and gilded, painted and etched mirrors featuring Holt Brewery lettering and squirrel motifs

Handsworth Park (originally Victoria Park) is a park in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, England. It lies 15 minutes by bus from the centre of Birmingham and comprises 63 acres (25 hectares) of landscaped grass slopes, including a large boating lake and a smaller pond fed by the Farcroft and Grove Brooks, flower beds, mature trees and shrubs with a diversity of wildlife, adjoining St. Mary's Church, Handsworth to the north, containing the graves of the fathers of the Industrial Revolution, James Watt, Matthew Boulton and William Murdoch, and the founders of Aston Villa Football Club and the Victoria Jubilee Allotments site to the south opened on 12 June 2010. The completion of a £9.5 million restoration and rejuvenation of Handsworth Park was celebrated with a Grand Re-Opening Celebration led by Councillor Mike Sharpe, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, speaking from the restored bandstand at 2.00pm on Saturday 8 July 2006, followed by a count down by a large enthusiastic crowd and the release of clouds of confetti; in the words of one observer "Great wedding! Now we must make the marriage a success."

Holyhead School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the Handsworth area of Birmingham, in the West Midlands, England. Previously a foundation school administered by Birmingham City Council, Holyhead School converted to academy status in August 2011. The school became part of the RSA Academies Trust in September 2014, but continues to coordinate with Birmingham City Council for admissions for its Year 7 intake. On 1st January 2021, Holyhead School joined Central Region Schools Trust. In 2014, the school was described as "outstanding" by Ofsted, which stated that "achievement in mathematics has been consistently outstanding". The school's continuing achievements in Mathematics had also recently been further recognised when the department had been nominated for the "TES Maths department of the Year 2015/16" award.Holyhead School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs.In January 2017, long standing principal Martin Bayliss and colleague Amanda Cottam retired after 17 and 38 years teaching at the school respectively. After a long recruitment process, it was decided that the then Head of Key Stage 3, Ross Trafford, would be promoted to the role. When Holyhead joined Central Region Schools Trust, Dave Knox was made Head of School as Ross Trafford took on duties as Executive Principal at Holyhead & Gospel Oak.

The school is named after Saint John Wall, a 17th-century Franciscan friar who is honored as a martyr.St John Wall Catholic School offers GCSEs and BTECs as programmes of study for pupils. The school used to operate a sixth form offering students a range of A-levels and further BTECs. However the school closed its sixth form provision in 2016.
