King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy is a secondary school and sixth form located in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, England. The building that the school currently occupies used to be known as Handsworth Wood Boys' School but it went through a change over ten years ago. The headteacher is Mr Qamar Riaz. Originally known as Handsworth Wood Girls School, in November 2012 the school converted to academy status and was renamed Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy. In September 2018 the school joined the Foundation of the Schools of King Edward VI and was renamed King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls' Academy.

Handsworth Wood railway station was a railway station in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, England, on the London and North Western Railway's rail link between the Chase Line and the West Coast Main Line. The station operated between 1896 and 1941, and like neighbouring station Soho Road, closed during the Second World War, as a result of decreasing use by passengers who possibly found the new 16 bus route more convenient. The station site lies in a cutting through Handsworth Park, adjacent to St. Mary's Church.

The Endwood is a disused grade II listed public house on Hamstead Road, in the Handsworth Wood district of Birmingham, England.The three-storey building was constructed as a private residence, Church Hill House, in 1820, when Handsworth Wood was part of Staffordshire. It has a stucco finish, a slate roof and porch with doric columns.Around the 1880s, it was occupied by the Muntz family, George Frederic Muntz' second son William Henry Muntz having married Alice Parker, the second daughter of its occupant, George Parker, in 1846.It subsequently became a hotel, known as the Hill House Hotel and then the Endwood Hotel, before being purchased in 1937 by the brewers Butlers of Wolverhampton, who used it as a pub. That company, and thus the Endwood, was acquired by Mitchells & Butlers in 1960.It was given listed building status in July 1982.A 2001 proposal to convert the building into flats was dismissed. In June 2015, a planning application was submitted to Birmingham City Council, for use of the building as an education centre.The building sits immediately opposite the site of the defunct Handsworth Wood railway station (1896–1941), and the railway line passes beneath the house in a short tunnel. St Mary's Church (Norman, rebuilt 1820) and Handsworth Park (1880s) are also nearby to the south, as is the A4040 road to the north.

St Mary's Church, Handsworth, also known as Handsworth Old Church, is a Grade II* listed Anglican church in Handsworth, Birmingham, England. Its ten-acre (4 hectare) grounds are contiguous with Handsworth Park. It lies just off the Birmingham Outer Circle, and south of a cutting housing the site of the former Handsworth Wood railway station. It is noteworthy as the resting place of famous progenitors of the industrial age, and has been described as the "Cathedral of the Industrial Revolution".

St Peter's Church, Handsworth is a Grade II listed former Church of England parish church in Birmingham now used by a Church of God (Seventh Day) congregation.

The Council House is a former municipal building in Soho Road in Handsworth, West Midlands, a suburb of Birmingham in England. The building, which is currently used as a public library and college campus, is a Grade II listed building.

King Edward VI Handsworth School is a grammar school for girls aged 11–18 located in Handsworth, Birmingham, England. It is part of the Foundation of the Schools of King Edward VI. The school was founded in 1883 as King Edward's Aston on the site where its brother school, King Edward VI Aston School, remains to this day. In 2019 there were 1086 girls on roll. Pupils must pass an 11-plus entrance exam to get into the school. The King Edward Schools are fiercely competitive to get admission to, as only 1 in 10 are successful in passing the entrance exam. The King Edward VI Foundation holds its exams at the same time, and generally a candidate will sit one exam for multiple schools within the foundation. Notable leaver's destinations from this school in previous years have been Birmingham, Aston, Oxford, and Nottingham. The leavers destinations by course were mainly medicine, dentistry, law, business studies and computer science. The school has a record of high attainment and was deemed 'outstanding' in its last Ofsted inspection. In 2019, the Birmingham Mail ranked it as the second best school in the West Midlands, down from first place in 2018. Since 2017, GCSE pupils at King Edward VI Handsworth have consistently achieved exceptionally good results. According to the Times League Table, King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls was ranked 13 in all of the United Kingdom.

The Gurdwara Sahib is a Sikh place of worship or Gurdwara in Handsworth, Birmingham, England. It was built in the late 1970s under the spiritual guidance of Sant Baba Puran Singh ji (d. 1983) and the leadership of Norang Singh (d. 1995). The Spiritual leadership of the jatha is now continued through the vision of Mohinder Singh. The gurdwara spans an area of about 25,000 square meters and the building is four stories high. There are five main Darbar Halls and three Langar Halls. There are approximately 100 rooms, most of which are for the sangat who want to stay at the Gurdwara for the night and have facilities for sleeping and washing. The main Darbar is used for continuous Akhand Path recital. A new Paath is started on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, unless a Samagam "community meeting" is under way. At Samagam programs, there is Sampat Paath recitation of a shabda: each line of the gurbani is followed by a sampat. Sampath Paath usually takes eleven days of continuous reading.

Soho Road railway station was a railway station in Handsworth, Birmingham, England, on the London and North Western Railway's rail link between the Chase Line and the West Coast Main Line. The station operated between 1889 and 1941.The station never attracted many passengers, as it competed with the nearby Great Western Railway station Soho and Winson Green, which was on a more direct route to Birmingham. Like neighbouring station Handsworth Wood, it was closed as an economy measure during the Second World War, and never re-opened. The line however still operates today.A short distance to the south-east of the station was a short spur, which led to Soho Pool goods station.

Handsworth Wood is a suburb of Birmingham in the West Midlands County, England.Located within the metropolitan county of the West Midlands since 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, it was previously a part of the county of Staffordshire. It is also a ward within the formal district of Perry Barr as well as other areas such as Great Barr, Sandwell and Hamstead/Hamstead Village. Handsworth Wood is regarded as one of the premier residential areas in Birmingham, due to the significant number of imposing Victorian detached and semi-detached houses. Also the area is highly sought after due to the access to parks such as Handsworth Park, golf clubs and the open spaces of Sandwell Valley Country Park. Handsworth Wood is regarded by estate agents as upmarket in comparison to the neighbouring district of Handsworth.

King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys, formerly and commonly Handsworth Grammar School, is a grammar school that admits boys from the age of eleven (as well as girls in the sixth form, since September 1997). The school was founded in 1862 and is located in Handsworth, Birmingham, England. it is situated just off the A41, near the junction with the A4040. King Edward Handsworth Grammar School is sometimes abbreviated as HGS. The headmaster is Simon N Bird.In September 2017, the school was admitted into the Foundation of the Schools of King Edward VI, where it was renamed King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys.The school has five houses: Henry, William, Nelson, Galahad and Alfred

The Anchorage is a Grade II* listed building in Handsworth Wood, Birmingham, England.It was built in 1899, to Arts and Crafts-style designs by Joseph Crouch and Edmund Butler, as a house for Alfred Constantine, a manufacturing jeweller. At the time, the area was in Staffordshire. The building is made of brick, with stone dressing and applied timber framing. The roof is tiled, with an off-centre cupola.A fire in around 1977 burnt the main hall's minstrels' gallery and a set of murals, The Hunt and Feast, by Fred Davis. Other interior fittings include metal work by a member of the Bromsgrove Guild, possibly Benjamin Creswick, and embroidery by Mary Newill, who also made stained glass for some of the windows.The building was granted protection from unauthorised alteration through Grade II* listed designation on 8 July 1982.One of its attached garages has been converted into a self contained dwelling under the direction of HDA Architecture. From 1983 to 2019 the building was occupied by the Jesus Fellowship Church as one of its Community Houses.
