Metropolitan Meat Market, primarily known as Meat Market, in Melbourne, Australia, is a former market building that also incorporates the Metropolitan Hotel. It was designed by George Johnson and completed in 1874. It has been listed on the Victorian Heritage Register since 1973.The venue has undergone many iterations and currently serves as an arts venue under the City of Melbourne. Annually, the venue hosts a cultural and social events ranging from theatre, circus, dance to food and wine fairs, music launches and private functions, in addition to festivals including Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne Knowledge Week, and Yirramboi Festival.

St Mary Star of the Sea is a historically significant Catholic parish church in West Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The foundation stone of the church was laid in 1882 and the building was completed by 1900. Since 2002, restoration has been ongoing to restore the church to its original state. Built with seating for over 1,200 people, it has been described as the largest parish church in Melbourne, in Victoria, or even in Australia.

St Mary's Primary School began life as a Roman Catholic co-educational primary day school with single-sex classes located in West Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The school was part of the parish of St Mary Star of the Sea, West Melbourne. As the parish and school populations grew the parish eventually created separate schools for boys and for girls each using the same or similar school name. The original school opened around 1855 and operated from a stone building, built in 1854, which served as both church and school. It is thought to be one of the earliest parish schools established in Victoria. In its later years each school developed its own administrative order, the boys being taught by the Christian Brothers and the girls by nuns. The schools closed in 1996.

Simonds Catholic College is a Roman Catholic school for boys located in Melbourne. The school consists of two campuses. The St Mary's campus (years 7-9) is in West Melbourne and is within walking distance of the Queen Victoria Market. The St Brigid's campus (years 10-12) is in Fitzroy North. The college is an associate member of the Associated Catholic Colleges.

The Queen Victoria Market (also known colloquially as Vic Market or Queen Vic) is a major landmark in the central business district (CBD) of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Covering over seven hectares (17 acres), it is the largest open air market in the Southern Hemisphere. Constructed in stages from the 1860s and officially opened in 1878, the Queen Victoria Market is the last remaining major market in the CBD, and along with Prahran Market and South Melbourne Market, the last of the city's Victorian era markets still operating. It is listed on both the Victorian Heritage Register and the National Heritage List, and is one of Melbourne's major tourist sites, attracting approximately 10 million visitors annually.

Elizabeth Street Common Ground Supportive Housing in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia is a supportive housing project that will provide 161 individuals and families with homes in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne by September 2010. The project is a partnership between the Victorian government which has provided the majority of capital funding; the Federal Government, which has provided capital funding under the ‘A Place to Call Home’ program; the Victorian Property Fund; Yarra Community Housing, a registered housing association, as owner and landlord; HomeGround Services, a registered housing provider and the support services manager; and construction company Grocon, who are constructing the development at cost. Other partners are providing support through in-kind and pro bono services and funding for support services. Elizabeth Street Common Ground will be an eleven storey building providing 131 homes based on the Common Ground model of supportive housing and another 30 affordable homes available to families. The building will provide operational offices for partner organisations as well as community facilities for tenants and a green roof garden.

Haymarket roundabout is a roundabout located at the intersection of Elizabeth Street, Flemington Road and Peel Street near the northwest border of the Melbourne CBD in Australia. It is also the location of two tram stops. Royal Parade appears to begin at the roundabout. However, the block north of the roundabout, as far as Grattan Street, is formally still Elizabeth Street. The roundabout used to be known informally known as the roundabout of death due to the high number of serious traffic incidents. Between 2000 and May 2011 there were 78 crashes recorded at the roundabout, including 14 with serious injuries. This has improved since the installation of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings at all entries in 2011. A November 2019 crash history check via the VicRoads crash statistics portal shows just 12 crashes during the previous five years. Despite improvements, continuing deficiencies with this roundabout include: A lack of adequate advance signage on Flemington Road and Royal Parade directing drivers into the appropriate entry lanes for their desired destinations. A lack of signage for northbound cyclists about the intended northbound Elizabeth Street cyclist movement – left turn into Flemington Road followed by a hook turn to the right in front of Peel Street traffic. (This works well but is not intuitive and is missed by many cyclists). As a pedestrian, getting from one side to the other can be very time-consuming, due to having to wait a complete cycle of the traffic lights between crossing each leg.

The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity is a research institute located in Melbourne, Australia. The Doherty Institute is named after the name of Laureate Professor Peter C. Doherty (Nobel prize winner in 1996). This institute is a joint venture between The University of Melbourne and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) is a multi-site, multi-disciplinary specialist cancer hospital and research centre located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The VCCC comprises an alliance between The University of Melbourne, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne Health, the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, the Royal Women's Hospital, the Royal Children's Hospital, Western Health, St Vincent's Hospital, Melbourne, Austin Health, and the Murdoch Childrens Research Institute.Comprising two facilities located on two sites, the VCCC building opened on 24 June 2016 in Melbourne's Parkville Biomedical Precinct, located on the intersections of Flemington Road, Grattan Street and Elizabeth Street. The building houses the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, formerly in East Melbourne. The second facility is located inside the Royal Melbourne Hospital. The two sites are joined by pedestrian bridges over Grattan Street.

Arts House is a centre for contemporary performance and interactive artforms in Melbourne, Australia.
