Altenstein Castle (Lower Franconia)

Pfarrweisach is a municipality in the district of Haßberge in Bavaria in Germany.

The Alte Burg ("Old Castle") is an early medieval ringwork between Altenstein and Lichtenstein in the borough of Market Maroldsweisach in the Lower Franconian county of Haßberge in the province of Lower Franconia in Bavaria, Germany.

The Zeilberg is a hill, 463 m above NHN, in the Haßberge Nature Park and county of Haßberge in eastern Lower Franconia, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of Maroldsweisach. It is one of the few still recognisable volcanoes of the Heldburger Gangschar and gives its name to the Zeilberge, which are the highest part of the Itz-Baunach Hills that are geologically part of the actual Haßberge to the west, but are separated from them by the Baunach valley. The extinct volcano is 16 million years old and is formed of nephelinite. It has been reduced in height due to extraction from a basalt quarry.

Lichtenstein Castle (German: Burg Lichtenstein) is a high to late medieval hill castle, 380 m above sea level (NN), about six kilometres north of Ebern in the Lower Franconian county of Haßberge in Bavaria. It is located in the municipality of Pfarrweisach. Of the originally four sub-castles of this great joint-fief or Ganerbenburg only one, the South Castle, is still occupied. The North Castle only survives as ruins. On the site of the now vanished third castle the Protestant Church of the Eternal Flame (Zum Ewigen Licht) was built in the Baroque era. In the southwestern part of the site lie the ruins of a fourth joint-vassal castle seat.

Rauheneck Castle (German: Burg Rauheneck) (usual spelling today Raueneck = "forested corner" or "hill spur") is a ruined administrative castle of the Bishopric of Würzburg in the Haßberge in the county of Haßberge, Lower Franconia, Bavaria (Germany). The site, which was badly in need of repair, was closed until 2006 due to the danger of collapse but has been accessible again since the start of, as yet unfinished, emergency repair work.

Ebern (German pronunciation: [ˈeːbɐn] ()) is a town in the Haßberge district of Bavaria, Germany. It is situated 22 km (14 mi) southwest of Coburg and 23 km (14 mi) northwest of Bamberg. Its population is about 8,000. Its mayor is Robert Herrmann. Ebern is about 1,000 years old and has an intact defensive wall. Its name derives from Eber, the German word for boar.

Erlebach was a village in Germany, founded in 1310 A D. It was destroyed by the East German authorities in 1986 as it stood too close to the Inner German border (part of the larger "Iron Curtain"), the border between the post-war states of East and West Germany. It lay in the extreme south of Thuringia in the district of Hildburghausen, only a few hundred metres away from the Thuringian-Bavarian border.In December 1986, the last family left the village. After that, all the houses were demolished and the land leveled. What remains is the village pond and a plaque on the old village site.

Seßlach is notable for its largely intact medieval town wall and overall historic appearance with few modern structures.
