Kyrgyz National Agrarian University

The Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic (Kirghiz SSR), also known as the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic (Kyrgyz SSR) or Kirgiz Soviet Socialist Republic (Kirgiz SSR), was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union (USSR) from 1936 to 1991. It was also known by the names Kyrgyzstan and Soviet Kyrgyzstan in the Kyrgyz language, and as Kirghizia and Soviet Kirghizia in the Russian language. Landlocked and mountainous, it bordered Tajikistan and China to the south, Uzbekistan to the west and Kazakhstan to the north. The Kirghiz branch of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union governed the republic from 1936 until 1990. On 30 October 1990, the Kirghiz SSR was renamed to the Socialist Republic of Kyrgyzstan; on 15 December, after declaring its state sovereignty, it was renamed again to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. On 31 August 1991, it transformed into independent Kyrgyzstan.

Dynamo Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and serves as the home stadium for FC Alga Bishkek of the Kyrgyzstan League. It used to host Sher-Ak-Dan Bishkek as well. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 people.

Bishkek Humanities University or BSU (Kyrgyz: Бишкек Гуманитардык Университети, Russian: Бишкекский гуманитарный университет) is a public university located in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The university was named after K. Karasaev.

Panfilov Street (Kyrgyz: Панфилов көчөсү, Russian: улица Панфилова), is a street in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. It stretches from Abdylas Maldybaev Street in the south to Jibek Jolu Prospekti in the north. The street was named after Soviet general Ivan Panfilov in 1941. Its earlier name was Sadovaya Street (Garden Street), originating from the Kazenniy Sad (Public Garden).

The Oktyabr District (Kyrgyz: Октябрь району, Russian: Октябрьский район) is a district of the capital city of Bishkek in northern Kyrgyzstan. Its resident population was 238,329 in 2009. It covers the southeastern part of the city, including the residential area Tokoldosh.

Babushka Adoption Foundation is a charitable non-governmental organization based in Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan. It was founded in 1999. The foundation provide supports to elderly people in Kyrgyzstan who do not have any family members that can care for them. The term babushka is Russian for grandmother, though they also provide assistance to eldery men, dedushkas, as well.

Bishkek (Kyrgyz: Бишкек, IPA: [biʃˈkek]; Russian: Бишкек), formerly Pishpek and Frunze, is the capital and largest city of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is also the administrative centre of the Chüy Region. The region surrounds the city, although the city itself is not part of the region but rather a region-level unit of Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek is situated near the border with Kazakhstan and has a population of 1,074,075, as of 2021.The Khanate of Kokand established the fortress of Pishpek in 1825 to control local caravan routes and to collect tribute from Kyrgyz tribes. On 4 September 1860, with the approval of the Kyrgyz, Russian forces led by Colonel Apollon Zimmermann destroyed the fortress. In the present day, the fortress ruins can be found just north of Jibek jolu street, near the new main mosque. A Russian settlement was established in 1868 on the site of the fortress under its original name, Pishpek. It lay within the General Governorship of Russian Turkestan and its Semirechye Oblast. The Kara-Kirghiz Autonomous Oblast was established in 1925 in Russian Turkestan, promoting Pishpek to its capital. In 1926, the Communist Party of the Soviet Union renamed the city Frunze, after Bolshevik military leader Mikhail Frunze (1885–1925), who was born there. Frunze became the capital of the Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic in 1936, during the final stages of national delimitation in the Soviet Union. In 1991, the Kyrgyz parliament changed the capital's name to Bishkek. Bishkek is situated at an altitude of about 800 metres (2,600 ft), just off the northern fringe of the Kyrgyz Ala-Too Range, an extension of the Tian Shan mountain range. These mountains rise to a height of 4,895 metres (16,060 ft). North of the city, a fertile and gently undulating steppe extends far north into neighbouring Kazakhstan. The river Chüy drains most of the area. Bishkek is connected to the Turkestan–Siberia Railway by a spur line. Bishkek is a city of wide boulevards and marble-faced public buildings combined with numerous Soviet-style apartment blocks surrounding interior courtyards. There are also thousands of smaller, privately built houses, mostly outside the city centre. Streets follow a grid pattern, with most flanked on both sides by narrow irrigation channels, which provide water to trees which provide shade during the hot summers.

Bishkek International School is an international school in Bishkek founded by a group of international and local parents as a non-profit community school and legally registered as a non-profit foundation in the Kyrgyz Republic on December 1, 2010. The first school Advisory Council meeting was held with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Roza Otunbaeva, on May 16, 2011 in the Ministry of Education. The school opened for students in September 2011, in a building which was built as a school but unused for this purpose for many years before being purchased by the school foundation in July 2011. Student numbers have increased from 20 students in 2011 to 440 students in 2024. The school was initially called the 'European School in Central Asia' (ESCA) and changed to 'Bishkek International School' (BIS) in 2016 to coincide with accreditation as an IB World School.

Ala-Too Square (Kyrgyz: Ала-тоо аянты, romanized: Ala-Too ayantı, IPA: [ɑlɑˈtoː ɑjɑnˈtɯ]; Russian: Площадь Ала-Тоо, romanized: Ploshchad' Ala-Too, IPA: [ˈploɕːɪtʲ ɐlɐˈto]) is the central square in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The Kyrgyz State History Museum (Russian: Кыргызский государственный исторический музей; Kyrgyz: Кыргыз Мамлекеттик Тарых музейи) is a museum located in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The museum contains literally thousands of exhibits about the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people, whose sculptures and objects date from antiquity to the end of the 20th century. It is one of the most important museums in Central Asia.

The White House is the presidential office building in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The White House was the site of riots during both the 2005 Tulip Revolution and the 2010 Kyrgyzstani riots. During the 2010 riots a fire broke out and damaged portions of the building and destroyed the hard copies of many government records. At present, deputies of the Supreme Council sit in the White House, and the President occupies part of the seventh floor.

Old Square (Kyrgyz: Эски Аянт; Russian: Старая Площадь) is a public square in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
