Bishkek Humanities University or BSU (Kyrgyz: Бишкек Гуманитардык Университети, Russian: Бишкекский гуманитарный университет) is a public university located in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The university was named after K. Karasaev.

The Lenin District (Kyrgyz: Ленин району, romanized: Lenin rayonu, Russian: Ленинский район) is a district of the capital city of Bishkek in northern Kyrgyzstan. Its resident population was 198,019 in 2009. It covers the southwestern part of the city, and includes the urban-type settlement Chong-Aryk and the village Orto-Say. It's named after Vladimir Lenin.

Frunzensky Airport was an international airport located in Bishkek, Chüy Region, Kyrgyzstan. It originally served as the capital airport from 1940 until 1974, when it was replaced by Manas International Airport. It was closed in October 1981 after all flights and aircraft were transitioned.

Dynamo Stadion is a multi-use stadium in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. It is currently used mostly for association football matches and serves as the home stadium for FC Alga Bishkek of the Kyrgyzstan League. It used to host Sher-Ak-Dan Bishkek as well. The stadium has a capacity of 10,000 people.

The Chinese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan is the official representative of the People's Republic of China to the Kyrgyz Republic.

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is a public university, founded according to an agreement between the governments of the Republic of Turkey and the Kyrgyz Republic about establishment of the university in Bishkek, which was signed in Izmir on September 30, 1995. The agreement was afterward approved by the competent authorities of both countries. The university began operation in the 1997-1998 academic year. To be accepted to the university, students from the Kyrgyz Republic must pass a university entrance examination, while students from Turkey are accepted according to their score on the Student Selection and Placement Center examination (TCS), as do other students from Turkic peoples and related communities. By the end of 2011, there were 3809 undergraduate students studying at 9 faculties, 4 high schools, and 1 vocational school. Also there were 196 graduate students at 2 institutions. According to the Council of Higher Education (Turkey), the university has the same status as other universities in Turkey. The education in the university is free; students are provided with an Academic Achievement Scholarship. Textbooks are supplied. The educational scholarship is given by the Republic of Turkey. Students are provided with affordable lunches and can apply for accommodation in the dorms. The teaching languages of the university are Turkish and Kyrgyz as well as English and Russian. Manas University is represented by a multicultural environment with students from 14 countries and regions. Outside of class, students enjoy a lively campus life with a range of sports teams, clubs, and campus events including contests, festivals, career days, tournaments and more. To supplement learning, KTMU provides internship opportunities for students in the Central Bank of Turkey, the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE), Turkey Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB), Turkish Ziraat Bank and other institutions. Students may also participate in exchange programs through Mevlana, ERASMUS PLUS, Open World, US Central Asian Education Foundation.

The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (Kyrgyz: Кыргыз Республикасынын Улуттук Банкы, romanized: Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn Uluttuk Banky) is the central bank of Kyrgyzstan and is primarily responsible for the strategic monetary policy planning of the country as well as the issuance of the national currency, the Som.

On 30 August 2016, a car rammed through the gates of the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and exploded. The driver of the car (a suicide bomber) was killed; three embassy employees were injured.

Osh Bazaar (Kyrgyz: Ош базары [oʃ bɑzɑrɯ]) is one of the largest bazaars in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. It is located on the west side of the city, and is not far from the Western Bus Station. Osh Bazaar in Bishkek was created in 1983, at the same time as other bazaars in other Kyrgyz cities.At Osh Bazaar, one can buy food products, almost any common household good, clothes, souvenirs, and even musical instruments. Kyrgyz national clothes are sold in the national goods section, called "Kyyal" (Kyrgyz: Кыял - "fantasy/dream"), and may be special ordered (for size, colour, etc.) through the bazaar vendors. The national goods section also includes vendors who sell carved wooden trunks (Kyrgyz: сандык), national bedding (Kyrgyz: төшөк), national cradles (Kyrgyz: бешик), small souvenirs, and many other locally produced items relevant to the traditional and modern culture of Kyrgyzstan.

The Kirghiz Soviet Socialist Republic (Kirghiz SSR), also known as the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic (Kyrgyz SSR) or Kirgiz Soviet Socialist Republic (Kirgiz SSR), was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union (USSR) from 1936 to 1991. It was also known by the names Kyrgyzstan and Soviet Kyrgyzstan in the Kyrgyz language, and as Kirghizia and Soviet Kirghizia in the Russian language. Landlocked and mountainous, it bordered Tajikistan and China to the south, Uzbekistan to the west and Kazakhstan to the north. The Kirghiz branch of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union governed the republic from 1936 until 1990. On 30 October 1990, the Kirghiz SSR was renamed to the Socialist Republic of Kyrgyzstan; on 15 December, after declaring its state sovereignty, it was renamed again to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. On 31 August 1991, it transformed into independent Kyrgyzstan.

The International University of Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyz: Кыргызстан эл аралык университети, Russian: Международный университет Кыргызстана) is a state international university in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.The university was established by decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Askar Akayev, № UP-74, on March 11, 1993, and by the enactment of the Government of Kyrgyzstan, № 113, on March 16, 1993. The founders of the International University of Kyrgyzstan are the Government of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Education and Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic and San Francisco State University in the United States. In 2021 the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities ranked the instruction as the 5th best among 46 ranked institutions from the country. The reported acceptance rate at the university is 20%.The International University of Kyrgyzstan is a state university with the status of International Higher Education institution and has a direct relationship to the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. By the decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic on December 30, 1998, and the enactment of the Kyrgyz Republic Government, the International University was given the status of autonomous academic self-management.

Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (Kyrgyz: Кыргыз улуттук агрардык университети, Russian: Кыргызский национальный аграрный университет) is a public university in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. It is named after K. I. Skryabin. KNAU was established in 1933 by then Soviet constituent Kirghiz SSR with its first admission of 53 students.Now more than 7,000 students study at KNAU in 7 faculties and 31 specializations. The instruction is provided in Russian by 287 professors including 93 holding PhDs. As of 2022, the current rector of the university is Professor R. Z. Nurgaziev.
