Shields' Station

Poplar Hill is a historic house in Blaine, Tennessee, United States. It was built in 1830 for Cynthia Lea, Major Lea's daughter. Lea grew up at Richland, and she moved into Poplar Hill as soon as she married Elihu Milliken, a Baptist minister. It was later purchased by Willis Idol, a physician. The house was designed in the Gothic Revival architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 8, 1980.

Lea Springs is an unincorporated community in southwestern Grainger County, Tennessee. It is located two miles northeast of the city of Blaine. It is also located partially inside Blaine's city limits and urban growth boundary.

Lea Springs was a historic mansion in Lea Springs, Tennessee near the city of Blaine, Tennessee. It was built by slaves in 1819 for Pryor Lea, who grew up at Richland. Lea became a politician in Tennessee and Texas, and he was a founding trustee of the University of Mississippi. He died in 1879, and the house was remodeled as a resort in the 1880s. The house was designed in the Federal architectural style. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 29, 1975. The mansion was demolished in 2008, and the property was delisted in 2023.

House Mountain is a mountain located in Corryton, Tennessee, United States, about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Knoxville. Rising to an elevation of 2,064 feet (629 m) above sea level, House Mountain is the highest point in Knox County. The House Mountain State Natural Area— designated in 1987— consists of 527 acres (2.13 km2), mostly on the south side of the mountain. House Mountain is known for its huge sandstone boulders, its wide variety of bird and plant life, and for the views from its two peaks. On a clear day, the Great Smoky Mountains and the upper Unaka Range are visible to the south and east, the Cumberland Plateau is visible to the west, and Powell Mountain and Clinch Mountain are visible to the north and northeast. The origin of the mountain's name is unknown, though a local legend suggests early settlers thought the mountain was shaped like the roof of a house.

New Corinth is an unincorporated community in Grainger County, Tennessee, United States. New Corinth is 6 miles (9.7 km) east-northeast of Blaine.

The Chesterfield House is an Antebellum house at 9625 Old Rutledge Pike in the Mascot community of northeastern Knox County, Tennessee. Built in 1838 by George W. Arnold, a physician from Roanoke, Virginia, the house is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was located along a stagecoach route (roughly what is now US 11) that began in Washington, D.C., passed through Knoxville, and continued further south. Stagecoaches made stops at Chesterfield. The mansion is a two-story brick structure with a one-story covered front porch. The porch has a balcony above, accessed off a second floor room. Architecturally, the house has Georgian influences. It remains a private residence, and is not open to the public.

Plainview is a city in Union County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 2,125 at the 2010 census, up from 1,866 at the 2000 census. It is included in the Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area. Plainview is located in the southern part of the county, south of Maynardville, the county seat.

Strawberry Plains is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson, Knox, and Sevier counties in the State of Tennessee, United States. Before 2010, it was treated by the United States Census Bureau as a census county division. It is included in both the Knoxville Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Morristown Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the CDP, which only covers the Jefferson County portion of the community, was 2,405 at the 2020 census.

The New Market train wreck happened when two Southern Railway passenger trains traveling at great speed collided head on near New Market, Tennessee, on Saturday, September 24, 1904, killing at least 56 passengers and crew and injuring 106.
