Vallvidrera, el Tibidabo i les Planes is a neighborhood in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). It is formed by three areas: Vallvidrera (that was a former municipality added to Sarrià), Tibidabo and les Planes.

Les Planes is a railway station in Les Planes, in the Serra de Collserola hills, part of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona. It is served by lines S1 and S2 of the Metro del Vallès commuter rail system, which are operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, who also run the station.The station has three tracks, although the track nearest the station building is a terminal track only accessible from the south. The tracks are served by four platform faces, but only those of the island platform between the through tracks are in normal use. This platform is accessed by footbridge, stairs, and lifts.The station building is the only example of a railway station in Catalonia executed in the modernista or art nouveau style. It opened in 1916 as the northern terminus of the first section of the line from Peu del Funicular station to the Vallès.

Vallvidrera is a neighbourhood of the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona, Spain. It is situated in one of the sides of the Collserola hills, considered to be the lungs of the city due to the abundant forests it has. This wealthy neighbourhood has excellent views of the whole city, from some specific places and in a clear day it is possible to see Mallorca and the Pyrenees on the horizon. Although being a residential place it has important things such as, the Torre de Collserola (a communications tower designed by the architect Norman Foster), the Tibidabo Amusement Park and the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor. Vallvidrera used to be a cool summer retreat where wealthy people from Barcelona had their summer houses. Now the wealthy live in this neighbourhood all year round and have their summer retreats in further places inside Catalonia, such as the Costa Brava (for summer vacations) or Puigcerda (for winter vacations). Vallvidrera can be reached by the Funicular de Vallvidrera, which connects at its lower station with the Metro del Vallès suburban railway with frequent services to the city center. The neighborhood is also served by minibus line 111, which connects to the upper station of the Vallvidrera funicular and the top of the Tibidabo hill. Other than the Funicular and the Bus, the most common type of transportation is the private one.

Torre de Collserola (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈtorə ðə kuʎsəˈɾɔlə]) is a uniquely designed tower located on the Tibidabo hill in the Serra de Collserola, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. It was designed by the architect Sir Norman Foster and by the Spanish civil engineers Julio Martínez Calzón and Manuel Julià Vilardell. This emblematic tower was built in 1991 by the construction company Cubiertas y MZOV S.A. for the 1992 Summer Olympics. It features a pod for floor space like many towers but uses guy wires for lateral support like a mast. Mainly used as a TV and radio transmitter, this futuristic design provides the highest viewpoint over the city. The top antenna reaches 288.4 m (946 ft) and the top of the pod, which has thirteen floors, reaches 152 m (499 ft). The highest point of this tower is the highest place one could be in the city of Barcelona. The tenth floor of the pod is open to the public.

Peu del Funicular is a railway station in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district of Barcelona. It is served by lines S1 and S2 of the Metro del Vallès commuter rail system, and is also the lower terminus of the Funicular de Vallvidrera. Both commuter rail and funicular are operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, who also run the station.The station has twin tracks on the main line, with twin side platforms. The main part of each side platform is in tunnel, and only long enough to accommodate two cars, although narrow extensions in the open air of the Sarrià side of the station allow passenger to disembark from, but not board, a third car. When four car trains are used, the car at the Vallès end of the train stops beyond the station and the doors do not open. Stairs, lifts and a footbridge connect these two platforms with the street level station entrance above, and with the funicular terminus above that.The first station on the site opened in 1906, when it was the terminus of the line from Sarrià, providing an interchange with the funicular that allowed passengers to continue their journey to Vallvidrera on the hill above. In 1916, the Collserola tunnel, and the line onward to the Vallès opened. As a result, the station's platforms moved to their current, partly underground location.

Tibidabo (Catalan pronunciation: [tiβiˈðaβu]) is a hill overlooking Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. At 512 metres (1,680 ft), it is the tallest hill in the Serra de Collserola. Rising sharply to the north-west, it has views over the city and the surrounding coastline.The summit of the hill is occupied by the Sagrat Cor church and adjacent Tibidabo Amusement Park. The Torre de Collserola telecommunications tower is a short walk away. All three are prominently visible from most of the city of Barcelona. Designed by Enric Sagnier, the church was started in 1902 and took 60 years to complete. It is topped by a sculpture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Josep Miret Llopart. Tibidabo can be reached by road or via the Tibidabo Funicular, which was the first of its kind in Spain, and by the Tramvia Blau. Funicular operations recommenced in June 2021 after modernisation, however the tramway remains out of service. Replacement bus TC2 connects Tibidabo with Avinguda de Tibidabo Metro station. The Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona minibus service 111 connects it to Vallvidrera village and the upper station of the Vallvidrera funicular.

The Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor (Catalan pronunciation: [səˈɣɾat ˈkɔɾ]; English: Expiatory Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Spanish: Templo Expiatorio del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús) is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica located on the summit of Mount Tibidabo in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The building is the work of the Spanish architect Enric Sagnier and was completed by his son Josep Maria Sagnier i Vidal. The construction of the church, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, lasted from 1902 to 1961.

Tibidabo Amusement Park (Catalan: Parc d'Atraccions Tibidabo) is an amusement park located on Tibidabo in the Collserola Ridge in Barcelona. The park was built in 1899 by the entrepreneur Salvador Andreu and opened in 1905. The park is among the oldest in the world still functioning. It is Spain's longest running amusement park and Europe's third-oldest. Most of the original rides, some of which date to the turn of the 20th century, are still in use. The park is now owned by the Barcelona City Council.

The Serra de Collserola (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈsɛrə ðə kɔʎsəˈɾɔlə]), or simply Collserola, is a mountain range between the rivers Besòs and Llobregat. It is part of the Catalan Coastal Range. These mountains separate Barcelona from the Vallès plain and their tallest peak is the Tibidabo, at 512 m. Other main summits are: Turó del Puig, Puig d'Olorda, Turó de Valldaura, Turó de la Magarola, Puig d'Ossa, and Puig Madrona. The valleys of the Llobregat and Besós Rivers, the plain of Barcelona, and the Vallès basin, mark the geographical boundaries of the Collserola massif.

The Fabra Observatory (Catalan: Observatori Fabra, IPA: [upsəɾβəˈtɔɾi ˈfaβɾə]; obs. code: 006) is an astronomical observatory located in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain pointed towards the south at 415 metres above sea level (latitude: 41,4184° N; longitude: 2,1239° E). It was established in 1904 and belongs to the Royal Academy of Science and Arts of Barcelona (Catalan: Reial Acadèmia de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona). Its main activity is the study of asteroids and comets. It is the fourth oldest observatory in the world that is still functioning. It is where the comet 32P/Comas Solà was discovered by Josep Comas Solà.
