Newport Cliffs

The River Nevern (Welsh: Afon Nyfer) is a river in Pembrokeshire, Wales. Its source is north of the village of Crymych and its length is about 11 miles (18 km) to its estuary at Newport, Pembrokeshire.

Cemais Is Nyfer was a mediaeval commote in the Dyfed cantref of Cemais, Wales. It consisted of the territory between the rivers Nyfer and Teifi, and comprised the parishes of Eglwyswrw, Monington, St Dogmaels, Llanfair-Nant-Gwyn, Llantood, Moylgrove and Bayvil, and parts of Nevern and Meline in what is now Pembrokeshire. Its area was about 100 km2 and its civil and ecclesiastical headquarters were at Nevern. The commote was made part of the Norman March in the 12th century, and had at least five Norman castles (Nevern, Pen-yr-allt, Eglwyswrw, Llain Fawr and Dyffryn Mawr). It ceased to be significant at the time of the Laws in Wales Acts 1535–1542, its functions being taken over by the Hundred of Cemais. It is in the predominantly Welsh-speaking north of Pembrokeshire.

Newport Bay (Welsh: Bae Trefdraeth) is a bay on a section of the north Pembrokeshire coast, Wales, which is within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The bay is one of many in the much larger Cardigan Bay, and it stretches from Dinas Island (actually a peninsula) to the headland of Pen-y-bâl, two miles to the east. It is overlooked by the town of Newport and the River Nevern flows into the bay.

Carreg Coetan Arthur is a neolithic dolmen near Newport in North Pembrokeshire, Wales.Carreg Coetan Arthur dates from around 3000 BC and is the remains of a Neolithic burial chamber (also known as a quoit). The remains consist of a 4-metre-long capstone on smaller supporting rocks. It would have originally been earth covered, but this has eroded away. The site is managed by Cadw and it is a scheduled ancient monument.

Cnapan, also known variously as Cnapan Country House or Cnapan Restaurant and Bed & Breakfast, is a Grade II listed hotel and restaurant in Newport, Pembrokeshire. It lies along the main road of the town, East Street, which is part of the A487 road, opposite The Golden Lion.

Felin Llwyngwair is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (or SSSI) near Newport in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. It was designated a SSSI (ID2580, code 32WE3) in October 2000 to protect its fragile biological elements. The site has an area of 0.01 hectares and is managed by Natural Resources Wales.

Carn Ingli (Welsh: [karn ˈɪŋli]) is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) in the Preseli Hills, Pembrokeshire, Wales. It was designated a SSSI in January 1954 in an attempt to protect its fragile biological elements. The site has an area of 428.4 hectares (1,059 acres) and is managed by Natural Resources Wales.

Mynydd Carningli is a mountain in the Preseli Hills near the town of Newport, Pembrokeshire, Wales. It has both prehistoric and historic remains.

Cwm-yr-Eglwys (English: Valley of the Church) is a hamlet in a picturesque cove on the eastern side of the Dinas Island peninsula in the community of Dinas Cross between Fishguard and Newport, Pembrokeshire, in southwest Wales. It has a full-time population of around 10 people. There are 27 homes and a small private caravan site.

Nevern (Welsh: Nanhyfer) is both a parish and a community in Pembrokeshire, Wales. The community includes the settlements of Felindre Farchog, Monington, Moylgrove and Bayvil. The small village lies in the Nevern valley near the Preseli Hills of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park 2 miles (3 km) east of Newport on the B4582 road.

Nevern Bridge (Welsh: Pont Nanhyfer) spans the River Nevern (Welsh: Afon Nyfer) in the centre of Nevern, Pembrokeshire, Wales. This Grade II listed bridge, 220 yards (200 m) south of the church, was built in the late 18th or early 19th century. Constructed of rubblestone and ashlar, this humpback bridge has two unequal arches—the south arch is larger—and is recessed with keystones.
