Biarritz (UK: beer-ITS, BEER-its, US: BEE-ə-RITS, -⁠rits, French: [bjaʁits] , Basque: [bi.arits̻]; Basque also Miarritze [mi.arits̻e]; Occitan: Biàrritz [ˈbjarits]) is a city on the Bay of Biscay, on the Atlantic coast in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the French Basque Country in southwestern France. It is located 35 kilometres (22 mi) from the border with Spain. It is a luxurious seaside tourist destination known for the Hôtel du Palais (originally built for the Empress Eugénie c. 1855), its casinos in front of the sea, and its surfing culture.

The Hôtel du Palais Biarritz is a historic luxury hotel beside the Atlantic beach in the resort town of Biarritz, on the Côte Basque in the French department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques. It was originally built for the Empress Eugénie around 1855 as a summer villa. It was due to the visits of the imperial couple that the village of Biarritz developed into a fashionable resort. In 1880, the villa was sold and converted into a hotel casino. It was devastated by fire in 1903, but was lavishly rebuilt and enlarged within the original walls. For many years the hotel attracted the international elite, including members of the European royalty such as King Edward VII, who paid several extended visits. Although the hotel later fell into disrepair, and closed for a period in the 1950s, it has since been refurbished and is again a luxury hotel. The hotel is managed by Hyatt.

The Hippodrome des fleurs is a horse racing venue located in Biarritz in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.It is a trotting racecourse with an 803 m sand track with a right-hand rope. It is one of the shortest tracks in France.

The Cité de l'Océan et du Surf, which opened in Biarritz, France in June 2011, is a museum designed by Steven Holl Architects in collaboration with Solange Fabião. The design was the winning scheme of an international competition held in 2005. Based on the concept "under the sky" and "under the sea," the building features a strongly curving roof, which also shapes the space of the public plaza, tilted towards the horizon and the ocean. The 3800sm building, which houses gallery spaces, an auditorium, a restaurant, cafeteria and administrative offices, is part of a larger site, with a public landscape that flows seamlessly from the museum's plaza to the water. For the Cité de l'Océan et du Surf, Steven Holl has received several awards, including the 2011 Emirates Glass LEAF Award, the 2012 American Architecture Award, and an Annual Design Review prize.

Parc des Sports Aguiléra is a multi-purpose stadium in Biarritz, France. The stadium is able to hold 15,000 people. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home stadium of Biarritz Olympique.

The Biarritz railway station (French: Gare de Biarritz) is a railway station in Biarritz, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The station is located on the Bordeaux–Irun railway line. The station is served by TGV (high speed trains), Intercités de Nuit (night trains), Intercités (long distance), and TER (local) services operated by the SNCF.

Biarritz Pays Basque Airport (IATA: BIQ, ICAO: LFBZ), also known as Biarritz Airport or Biarritz-Parme Airport, is an airport serving Biarritz, French Basque Country. It is located 5 km (3.1 mi) southeast of Biarritz, near Bayonne and Anglet. In 2020, the Basque airport was shaken by the global pandemic and saw its infrastructure closed between March and May. A total of 383,366 passengers (down 64.04%) transited through the platform. In 2019, the airport welcomed the aircraft of many delegations during the G7 meeting organized in Biarritz. The airport opened on 11 April 1954.
