The First Cathedral, originally known as First Baptist Church, is a Black Baptist congregation in Hartford, Connecticut. It is the fifteenth oldest historically black church founded in the city and the third congregation to be known as First Baptist Church of Hartford. Its pastor is Archbishop LeRoy Bailey, Jr.

The Eli Phelps House is a historic house at 18 Marshall Phelps Road in Windsor, Connecticut. Built about 1860, it is one of the town's largest and most elaborate examples of Italianate architecture executed in brick. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Northwest Park is a municipally owned park in the town of Windsor, Connecticut, which includes walking trails, soccer fields and a nature center. Located in the Poquonock section of Windsor along the Farmington River, the park covers 473 acres (1.91 km2) of forests, fields and recreational areas. The Luddy/Taylor Connecticut Valley Tobacco Museum, dedicated to preserving the history of the tobacco industry in the lower Connecticut River valley, is located near the entrance of the park. The Northwest Park Nature Center features natural history, geology and meteorology exhibits, and offers nature and environmental education programs including a summer camp. There is an adjacent barn with farmyard animals.The park hosts an annual Coffeehouse Concert Series, bringing in a variety of regional and national acts to perform in an intimate setting. Additionally, a country fair annually takes place in the fall at the park. Other park amenities are trails for hiking, cross-country and skiing, a maple sugar house, a playground, picnic facilities, and a gift shop in the nature center.

WDRC (1360 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Hartford, Connecticut. It is owned by Red Wolf Broadcasting and airs a talk radio format. The studios and transmitter site are located on Blue Hill Avenue (Connecticut Route 187) in Bloomfield, Connecticut, with other radio stations.WDRC is the flagship station of "The Talk of Connecticut", which is simulcast in Torrington on WSNG (610 AM). 250-watt FM translator station W277DT, 103.3 MHz, also carries WDRC programming for listeners in Hartford and adjacent communities.WDRC operates fulltime with 5,000 watts. The signal is non-directional by day, but because AM band signals travel farther at night, after sunset the station uses a directional antenna that sends most of its coverage eastward, in order to protect other stations on AM 1360.

Blue Hills is a community in Hartford County, Connecticut, encompassing the northwest corner of the city of Hartford and the southeast corner of the town of Bloomfield. The Bloomfield portion is listed by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place (CDP), with a population of 2,762 at the 2020 census.Blue Hills is home to many schools and homes. Including the portion in Hartford, it has roughly 10,000 residents, and has several schools and one university located there. Connecticut Transit operates several bus routes through the neighborhood, such as the 50, 52 and 54, which run on Blue Hills Avenue, the 56 and 58, which run up on Albany Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue, the 74, which runs through Westbrook Village on its way to Copaco Shopping Center via Granby Street, and the 76, which runs on Cornwall Street towards Bowles Park. Blue Hills has a majority of West Indian and African American people. Educational institutions include Annie Fisher ES, Mountain Laurel School (Annie Fisher School Annex), Sarah J. Rawson ES, Mark Twain ES, Martin Luther King, Jr. ES, Weaver HS, Watkinson School, and the University of Hartford.

The John Fitch School is a historic former school building at 156 Bloomfield Avenue in Windsor, Connecticut, United States. Built in 1929 and twice enlarged, it is a prominent local example of the Beaux Arts style, and was the town's first purpose-built high school. Since 1988, it has served as Fitch Court, a senior housing complex managed by the local housing authority. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
