Blue Hills is a community in Hartford County, Connecticut, encompassing the northwest corner of the city of Hartford and the southeast corner of the town of Bloomfield. The Bloomfield portion is listed by the U.S. Census Bureau as a census-designated place (CDP), with a population of 2,762 at the 2020 census.Blue Hills is home to many schools and homes. Including the portion in Hartford, it has roughly 10,000 residents, and has several schools and one university located there. Its main thoroughfares are Granby Street, Blue Hills Avenue (Route 187), Plainfield Street, Bloomfield Avenue (Route 189) and Albany Avenue (US 44). Connecticut Transit operates several bus routes through the neighborhood, such as the 50, 52 and 54, which run on Blue Hills Avenue, the 56 and 58, which run up on Albany Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue, the 74, which runs through Westbrook Village on its way to Copaco Shopping Center via Granby Street, and the 76, which runs on Cornwall Street towards Bowles Park. Blue Hills has a majority of West Indian and African American people. Educational institutions include Annie Fisher ES, Mountain Laurel School (Annie Fisher School Annex), Sarah J. Rawson ES, Mark Twain ES, Martin Luther King, Jr. ES, Weaver HS, Watkinson School, and the University of Hartford.

The Engine Company 16 Fire Station, also known as the Blue Hills Fire Station, is located at 636 Blue Hills Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut. Built in 1928, it is one of the city's most architecturally distinctive fire stations, a Tudor Revival structure designed by the local firm of Ebbets & Frid. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 2, 1989. It continues to serve its original function, housing Engine Company 16 of the Hartford Fire Department.

The Old Farm Schoolhouse, also known as the Brick School, is a historic schoolhouse at Park Ave. and School St. in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Built in 1795, it is the oldest surviving public building in Bloomfield. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

WQTQ (89.9 FM) is a high school radio station licensed to the Hartford Board of Education and operates out of Weaver High School in Hartford, Connecticut. Operating with 112 watts on 89.9 MHz FM from a tower on top of the Oak Hill School in Hartford, the station has thousands of listeners throughout Hartford County. The station is unusual among high school radio stations for its urban contemporary format and the fact that the station is operated at an inner city (as opposed to suburban or rural) high school. WQTQ provides a training ground for high school students interested in broadcasting and serves the community with unique programming.

The First Cathedral, originally known as First Baptist Church, is a Black Baptist congregation in Hartford, Connecticut. It is the fifteenth oldest historically black church founded in the city and the third congregation to be known as First Baptist Church of Hartford. Its pastor is Archbishop LeRoy Bailey, Jr.

University High School of Science and Engineering (UHSSE) is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math magnet high school located in Hartford, Connecticut. This public school was started in 2004, with a small body of faculty, headed by principal Dr Elizabeth Colli, and a freshman class of one hundred students.

Fiondella Field is a baseball venue located on the campus of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut, United States. It is home to the Hartford Hawks baseball team, a member of the NCAA Division III Commonwealth Coast Conference. The stadium hosted its first game on March 29, 2006. It holds a capacity of 1,000 spectators and includes dugouts, batting cages, and a modern scoreboard over the left field fence.

The University of Hartford (UHart) is a private university in West Hartford, Connecticut. Its 350-acre (1.4 km2) main campus extends into neighboring Hartford and Bloomfield. The university is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.

Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium officially known as Yousuf Al-Marzook Field at Alumni Stadium is the on campus lacrosse and soccer stadium at the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. In 2019 it was the home stadium for Hartford City FC of the National Premier Soccer League.The stadium opened on October 15, 1977 and utilizes artificial turf. It was renovated in 2005.

The Boce W. Barlow Jr. House is a historic house at 31 Canterbury Street in Hartford, Connecticut. An architecturally undistinguished two-story built in 1926, it was from 1958 home to Boce W. Barlow Jr. (1915–2005), the first African-American to win election to the Connecticut State Senate, and a prominent figure in Hartford politics. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Keney Park Golf Course is a public golf course located in Hartford, Connecticut and Windsor, Connecticut within Hartford's Keney Park. The first nine holes were designed by eminent golf course architect Devereux Emmet in 1927, with the remaining nine made by City of Hartford engineer Robert ”Jack” Ross in 1931.

The M. Swift and Sons Company is a historic industrial complex at 10 and 60 Love Lane in Hartford, Connecticut. Established around 1887, it was the home of one of the nation's most successful manufacturers of gold leaf by the process of goldbeating. The complex, including both industrial and residential components, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.
