Fajr Rural District (Yazd County)

The Yazd Tower of Silence (Persian: برج خاموشان یزد) or the Yazd Dakhma (Persian: دخمه یزد) is a Zoroastrian tower of silence 15 kilometres south east of Yazd, Iran.

Yazd University (YU, Persian: دانشگاه یزد, Daneshgah-e Yazd) is a public research university in Yazd, Iran. It is a major state-funded research center in central Iran and the academic center of Yazd province and was the first comprehensive institute of higher education established after the 1979 Islamic revolution. It is also the principal heir to the former University College Yazd (Persian: دانشسرای عالی یزد). Yazd University is considered to be among the top 10 comprehensive universities in Iran and it is among 200 best world's young universities. The university was founded in 1989 by a merger of several older institutions and grew rapidly over the years. Its main campus is located in Safaeeyeh. There are four other campuses and two autonomous schools, all located within or in the vicinity of the city of Yazd. Yazd University offers BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in more than 40 fields through its 29 departments and is home to more than 14,000 students.

Kheyrabad (Persian: خيراباد) is a neighborhood in the city of Yazd in the Central District of Yazd County, Yazd province, Iran. As a village, it was the capital of Fajr Rural District until its capital was transferred to the village of Shahneh.

At the 2016 census, its population was 529,673. Since 2017, the historical city of Yazd is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Because of generations of adaptations to its desert surroundings, Yazd is known for its Persian architecture. Yazd is also known as City of Bicycles, because of its early adoption of cycling, and its boasting the highest number of bicycles per capita in Iran. It is reported that bicycle culture in Iran originated in Yazd as a result of contact with European visitors and tourists in the nineteenth century.

Mobarakeh (Persian: مباركه, also Romanized as Mobārakeh; also known as Mobārak and Mubārak) is a village in Pishkuh Rural District, in the Central District of Taft County, Yazd Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 57, in 20 families.

Shahneh (Persian: شحنه) is a village in, and the capital of, Fajr Rural District of the Central District of Yazd County, Yazd province, Iran. The previous capital of the rural district was the village of Kheyrabad.
