Ahlcon Public School is a co-educational English Medium public school, established in 1988 by the Shanti Devi Progressive Education Society in New Delhi, India and is duly recognized by the Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT, Delhi. The school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and offers AISSE and AISSCE at Standard X and XII respectively. The school has four student houses – Dhruv, Eklavya, Prahlad and Shravan.

The Battle of Delhi or Battle of Patparganj took place on 11 September 1803 during the Second Anglo-Maratha War, between British East India Company troops of the Bombay Army under General Lake, and Marathas of Scindia's army under General Louis Bourquin and Sardar Ravsaheb Wable.

The Sack of Delhi occurred in January—February 1757, carried out by the Durrani Empire under Afghan King Ahmad Shah Durrani. Delhi, the capital of the Mughal Empire, experienced multiple invasions by the Afghans during the 18th century. Beginning decline since the death of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, the Mughals faced numerous forays from the Maratha Empire and internal conflicts over succession. Stability briefly returned under Muhammad Shah. However, with the decline of the Mughals, it allowed adventurers such as Nader Shah to invade Mughal territories and sack Delhi. Following Nader Shah's death, he was succeeded by Ahmad Shah Durrani, who formed the Afghan Durrani Empire and centered his powerbase in Kandahar, Afghanistan. After three invasions by the Afghans, the Mughals lost numerous territories including Kashmir, Punjab, and Sindh. Invited to invade India, Ahmad Shah Durrani assembled his forces and advanced to Delhi, entering the city on 28 January, and compelling Mughal emperor Alamgir II to submit. The subsequent sacking of Delhi yielded immense wealth, with estimates ranging from 30 to 120 million rupees, and even as high as 300 million rupees worth of goods, which Ahmad Shah took back to Afghanistan. The sacking concluded on 22 February 1757, marking a significant blow to the already weakened Mughal Empire.

The Mayur Vihar Phase 1 is an interchange metro station is on the Blue Line and Pink Line of the Delhi Metro. It is an interchange station with the Pink Line was opened on 31 December 2018. The station is within walking distance from Pocket I and IV. Cycle-rickshaws and minibuses are available for Pocket II, Trilokpuri and Kalyanpuri. The station's design is elevated so one can view the skyline of Commonwealth Sports Village and the flood plain of river Yamuna. The Pink Line station of Mayur Vihar Phase-I is the tallest metro station of Delhi Metro with platforms at a height of 22 meters.

Mayur Vihar is an upmarket residential area in East Delhi close to the Noida-Delhi border, situated just across the Yamuna River, and is divided into three distinct phases. As the name suggests, it has been the dwelling (vihar) of peacocks (mayur). Even today, the area has a closed sanctuary dedicated to the conservation of peacocks. This residential area came into existence in 1979–80, back when the trans-Yamuna area, part of today's East Delhi was sparsely populated. The government decided to sell the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flats to employees of Public Sector Units (PSU's) and semi-PSU's like the BHEL, among others. This was also an experiment to integrate people belonging to various economic bracket's i.e. High Income Group (HIG's), Middle Income Group (MIG's) and Low Income Group (LIG's) in one community. The residential units in Mayur Vihar are a relatively recent phenomenon and were developed in three phases. It is well connected by high-frequency buses and is serviced by the Blue Line and Pink Line of Delhi Metro.

Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 is a metro station located on the Pink Line of the Delhi Metro. It as part of Phase III of the Delhi Metro Network. The station was opened on 31 December 2018.

Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple (Hindi: उत्तर गुरुवायूरप्पन मंदिर, Malayalam: ഉത്തര ഗുരുവായൂരപ്പൻ ക്ഷേത്രം) is a Hindu Temple located at Mayur Vihar-I in Delhi. The temple is dedicated to Shri Krishna, who is worshiped as Guruvayurappan, the deity of the famous Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur town in the state of Kerala. The Temple was founded on 17 May 1983. This temple is most revered by the Malayali and Tamil communities in Delhi.

Swaminarayan Akshardham is a Hindu temple, and spiritual-cultural campus in Delhi, India. The temple is close to the border with Noida. Also referred to as Akshardham Temple or Akshardham Delhi, the complex displays millennia of traditional and modern Hindu culture, spirituality, and architecture. Inspired by Yogiji Maharaj and created by Pramukh Swami Maharaj, it was constructed by BAPS.The temple was officially opened on 6 November 2005 by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in the presence of Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Manmohan Singh, L.K Advani and B.L Joshi. The temple, at the centre of the complex, was built according to the Vastu shastra and Pancharatra shastra. In Swaminarayan Akshardham, similar to its predecessor Swaminarayan Akshardham in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, the main shrine is the focal point and maintains the central position of the entire complex. There are various exhibition halls which provide information about the life and work of Swaminarayan. The designers of the complex have adopted contemporary modes of communication and technology to create the various exhibition halls.The complex features an abhishek mandap, Sahaj Anand water show, a thematic garden, and three exhibitions namely Sahajanand Darshan (Hall of Values), Neelkanth Darshan (an IMAX film on the early life of Swaminarayan as the teenage yogi, Neelkanth), and Sanskruti Darshan (cultural boat ride). According to Swaminarayan Hinduism, the word Akshardham means the abode of Swaminarayan and believed by followers as a temporal home of God on earth.

The Akshardham metro station is a Delhi Metro station on Blue line operated by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited. The station lies between Pandav Nagar on one side and the Akshardham Mandir and the Commonwealth Games Village on the other side. It was designed to be a complement of the Akshardham Mandir located nearby. When it was completed on 12 November 2009, the station was the tallest metro station within the Delhi Metro system (the record is currently held by the Mayur Vihar-I metro station on the Pink Line). The station serves commuters travelling to the mandir and provided transport for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Adarsh Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School (ASN Sr Sec School) is a school in New Delhi, India. The school is run by Sanatan Dharm Adarsh Shiksha Sansthan, a government-registered educational society, and is affiliated with C.B.S.E.. It is a co-educational, English-medium school with pre-primary, primary, middle, and senior wings from classes Nursery to XII. The school was established in 1975 in Jwala Nagar by Mr. K. L. Luthra. He later started another school with the same name in Mayur Vihar Ph-1, near NOIDA. The school won the 2013-2016 British Council Best School Award.

Sanjay Lake is an artificial lake developed by Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in Trilokpuri in East Delhi, India, adjoining Mayur Vihar II residential area. The lake is Spread over an area of approximately 17 hectares (42 acres) in the middle of a 69 hectares (170 acres) forest area, also known as Sanjay Lake Park. Sanjay Lake was developed in the 1970s by DDA and opened in 1982. The lake attracts some migratory birds and has many indigenous trees. A well-laid-out fitness track is very popular with walking-enthusiasts.

Rohit Kumar Mehraulia (born 13 November 1976) is an Indian musician and politician who has served in the Delhi Legislative Assembly since 2020, representing Trilokpuri as a member of the Aam Admi Party.
