Old Gaissert Homeplace

The Mills House and Smokehouse, located south of Griffin, Georgia at 1590 Carver Rd., is an Italianate-style house built in 1875 and its smokehouse. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.It is a two-story building, 40 by 32 feet (12.2 m × 9.8 m) in plan, with a low roof and wide eaves supported by decorative brackets. It has an original one-story front porch. The main part of the house is built of "a combination of heavy mortised and tenoned timbers and light dimensioned lumber fastened with cut nails. This structure is sheathed with weatherboards, painted white. The house was originally supported by brick piers; it now rests on a continuous brick foundation wall. Original wood shingles on the roof have been covered with large, diamond-shaped asphalt shingles."

The Bailey-Tebault House, located at 633 Meriwether St. in Griffin, Georgia, is a Greek Revival-style mansion which was built during 1859–1862. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.It was deemed an "exceptionally fine Greek Revival home in the piedmont region of Georgia. The quality of its detailing and the proportions of its composition, as well as its commanding location, contribute to its distinction." The house consists of a square two-story section with a hipped roof and projecting one-story wings, also with hipped roofs. It has a two-story, three-bay, four-column portico surmounted by a pediment. "Above this portico and around the entire central portion of the house is a strongly projecting cornice and a simple, precisely delineated entablature."The design of the house may have been inspired by a frontispiece illustration in architect Minard LaFever's "Design of a Country Villa". Its completion was delayed because mill work ordered from Philadelphia could not be delivered due to the Union blockade of the south in the American Civil War.In 2018 it houses the Griffin/Spalding Historical Society.

The Marian Apartments in Griffin, Georgia, at 400 W. Poplar St., were built in 1919 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.It was the first building in Griffin to rent out luxury apartments. The building was deemed significant "as an excellent example of an early 20th-century Renaissance Revival-style apartment building designed with luxury "flats" that incorporated modern amenities and were large enough for families. Designed to attract affluent tenants, the Marian incorporated sunrooms and balconies for fresh air and sunlight, white-tile bathrooms, modern kitchens, wood floors, electric lights, and steam heat. The apartments, designed by Atlanta architect Alexander F. N. Everett, are typical of apartments designed in Atlanta in the 191Os and 1920s." The building was designed by architect Alexander F.N. Everett in Renaissance Revival style.

The county was created December 20, 1851 and named for former United States representative and senator Thomas Spalding.Spalding County is included in the Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Roswell, GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The Hunt House is a historic residence in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia. Also known at the Chapman-Kincaid-Hunt House, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It was originally located at 232 South 8th Street.It is a monumental Beaux Arts house that was built originally in c.1860 as an Italianate summer home for a rich south Georgia planter, W.W. Chapman. It was remodelled into the Beaux Arts style by W.J. Kincaid, founder of a textile manufacturing firm in Griffin. Kincaid bought the house in 1874. His daughter, born in the house in 1875, married a Hunt and lived there until 1959. The house was moved to 525 North Pine Hill in 1978, apparently at 33.26214°N 84.31637°W / 33.26214; -84.31637.

Hill–Kurtz House is a historic residence in Griffin, Georgia in Spalding County. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 20, 1973. It is located at 570 South Hill Street. Built in 1860 for Benjamin J. Milner, who helped muster a cavalry unit from Spalding County during the American Civil War. H.P. Hill, a printer, bought the home in 1866.

St. George's Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church in Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 7, 1994. It is located at 132 North Tenth Street. Construction of the church was delayed by the American Civil War and the American Reconstruction period. A lot for the church was bought on the corner of Tenth Street and Broad Street in 1868. In November 1869 the church's cornerstone was placed with the Bishop of Georgia officiating and services were held in April 1871. A rectory was built a few years later (now administration offices) and in 1921 the Grantland Memorial Parish Hall was built. In 1962 the Education Wing was added and the original rectory remodeled. In May 1975 a sacristy was added for the Altar Guild. The church merged with St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, which served the African Americans, and the altar, pews and baptismal font from St. Stephen's were dedicated in 2003. A Children's chapel was also added. St. George's sesquicentennial celebration was held in 2014.

It included 93 contributing buildings, two contributing structures, and a contributing site.
