The Biscayne Bay Campus (BBC), located in North Miami, Florida, is a branch campus of Florida International University. With a student body of more than 7,000, it is the largest branch campus in Florida's State University System.FIU's nationally ranked schools of Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Journalism and Mass Communication, Environment, Arts and Society, and Business Administration are headquartered at BBC. Offering numerous undergraduate majors and selected graduate degrees located about an hour from FIU main campus.Encompassing nearly 200 acres, the campus is surrounded by the largest urban park in Florida, Oleta River State Park. It includes a library, an aquatic center, a conference center, a food court and a marine science research facility. FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus completed renovations in the Fall of 2014, including a new Panther Plaza, Wolfe University Center Lobby, Wolfe University Center Lounge, Wine Spectator Restaurant, Hubert Library Instructional Lab, Starbucks, Food Court, and Royal Caribbean International Performance and Production Facility.

The Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University, located at the Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami, Florida in the United States is one of the University's 26 schools and colleges. The University was chartered in 1965 and opened in 1972.The campus includes a natural mangrove preserve, direct access to the bay, apartment-style housing, library, aquatic center, and the Roz and Cal Kovens Conference Center. On-campus housing is also available at the Bay Vista Apartments through the housing community.

Sandspur Island (also known as Beer Can Island) is the largest spoil island in Biscayne Bay, which is part of the Oleta River State Park in Southern Florida. The island is 15 acres (6.1 ha), the largest island in North Bay of the Biscayne Bay and only accessible by boat. In the early 1900s dredging of Biscayne Bay to create navigation channels and harbors resulted in the creation of over twenty man-made spoil islands, including Sandspur Island and two partially filled natural mangrove islands.

One Fifty One at Biscayne is a residential property in North Miami, FL, that consists of 373 condominiums in two 25-story towers. The residential development was formerly named The Oaks at Biscayne Landing. The property is bordered to the east by the Biscayne Bay campus of Florida International University and David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center, and to the west by commercial developments along Biscayne Boulevard. The property is named for its location at the intersection of that roadway and Northeast 151st Street. In 2007, Boca Developers constructed the towers in the first phase of what was planned to be a larger mixed-use development, Biscayne Landing. The company's lender filed foreclosure action in 2009 and no other buildings were constructed. The project went into bankruptcy.That same year, iStar Residential, a division of iStar Financial, purchased 160 of the unsold residences and leased a majority of them while the South Florida real estate market was in recovery. In late 2013, the homeowners association renamed the towers as One Fifty One at Biscayne.Also in late 2013, iStar Residential hired DevStar Realty, a wholly owned subsidiary of The DevStar Group, to manage repositioning and sales. Dev Star Group principals had turned around two other local condominium projects — Paramount Bay in Miami and Ocean House on South Beach. The units at One Fifty One at Biscayne consist of two-bedroom residences of 1,600 to almost 1,800 square feet and three-bedroom residences of 2,000 to almost 2,400 square feet.During the periods of foreclosure and bankruptcy, the residential property stayed open with minimal maintenance. Under new ownership, iStar Residential is adding several million dollars worth of amenities and improvements. They include a 24-hour attended guardhouse with an advanced security system and the addition of a brand new pool, clubhouse, tennis court and fitness center with locker rooms.

SoLé Mia is a 184 acres (0.74 km2) master-planned community located in North Miami, Florida, east of Biscayne Blvd, within an enclave on Biscayne Bay. The project was called a "mini-city" by The Miami Herald and has the first man-made lagoon in South Florida as well as plans for more than 4,000 residences, retail and office spaces, a medical facility, school, hotel and parks. It is being developed by Oleta Partners LLC, a joint venture between Aventura's Turnberry Associates and New York-based LeFrak.The property is bordered to the east by Oleta River State Park, Florida's largest remaining coastal mangrove preserve and urban park, and next to Florida International University's Biscayne Bay Campus. Previous proposals for the site included an international exposition known as Interama that featured an amusement park in the 1960s, an indoor ski slope in the late 1990s in addition to several developments attempts in the 2000s.

Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Sr. High Biscayne Bay Campus is a secondary school in North Miami, Florida, United States which opened August 2009, located two blocks north of Florida International University's Biscayne Bay Campus. It is part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system. It was built to relieve overcrowding at three nearby high schools. The school is named after Alonzo Mourning, former player for the Miami Heat NBA basketball team, and his ex-wife Tracy. The school serves all or portions of the cities of North Miami, North Miami Beach, Sunny Isles Beach, and Golden Beach.

Munisport Landfill is a closed landfill located in North Miami, Florida adjacent to a low-income community, a regional campus of Florida International University, Oleta River State Park (a state recreational park), and estuarine Biscayne Bay. The 170-acre (0.69 km2) Munisport landfill contains approximately 6.2 million cubic yards (4.7×10^6 m3) of municipal waste and was in operation for seven years.Munisport was found to contain contaminants and a "small amount" of hospital biohazard waste was found on the site and drums of toxic chemicals during its operation. Audubon Society compiled a list of chemicals Munisport employees admitted had been buried in the dump. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) officials never detected dangerous levels of those in the landfill and concentrated their efforts on the mangrove preserve south of the site, where the chief concern was the seepage of ammonia, created naturally as organic debris decomposes. The 1992 Consent Decree between the City of North Miami and the United States redefined and shrank the National Priorities List boundaries of the site to a 30-acre (120,000 m2) site is in wetlands to the east, away from the actual dump.In 2011, Munisport was designated by the EPA as a site ready for use and redevelopment.Location: North Miami, Florida Congressional District: 22

The Oleta River State Park is a 1,043-acre (422 ha) state park on Biscayne Bay in the municipal suburb of North Miami in metropolitan Miami, Florida. Adjoining the Biscayne Bay Campus of Florida International University, the park contains one of the largest concentrations of Casuarina trees (Australian 'pine'), an invasive species in the state park system.

The Miami Auto Museum at the Dezer Collection was a privately owned museum in North Miami, Florida, that exhibited automobiles and related memorabilia collected by Michael Dezer. It has closed and is being moved to Orlando, Florida, to be opened as the Orlando Auto Museum.The museum was housed in two large warehouse buildings, one for the Hollywood Collection, the other for the Classic Car Collection. The Hollywood Collection displayed cars and vehicles used in movies or by the stars, among them a collection of James Bond cars and Batman cars. The other collection showed classic American and European cars, micro-cars, military vehicles, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles, and various related memorabilia. The exhibition areas exceeded 250,000 square feet and was capable of displaying more than 1,000 vehicles.Cars included in the collection are the 1948 Ford from Grease, the 1959 Cadillac from Ghostbusters (a replica), the 1981 DeLorean from Back to the Future, an original Batmobile, the Land Rover from Skyfall, and a T-55 Soviet tank from GoldenEye. In 2011, the museum acquired the original Pursuit Special driven by Max Rockatansky in Mad Max and Mad Max 2.The collection was started by Micheal Dezer, an Israeli-born real estate developer, after he got a Vespa scooter at the age of 16. The museum evolved from the holding place for his collection and was opened in 2012 (2012). It incorporated the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum purchased from England.

Arch Creek was an early settlement in Miami-Dade County, Florida, in present-day metropolitan Miami. Tequesta Indians thrived here before the first Europeans arrived in the early 16th century. The name is derived from the 40 feet (12 m) long natural limestone bridge that spanned the creek until 1973. It is part of the Arch Creek Memorial Park at 1855 Northeast 135th Street, on Biscayne Boulevard. It was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on July 15, 1986.

Baker's Haulover Inlet is a man-made channel in Miami-Dade County, Florida connecting the northern end of Biscayne Bay with the Atlantic Ocean. The inlet was cut in 1925 through a narrow point in the sand between the cities of Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles. It is the location of an official nude beach, recreation areas and marina in the 99-acre Haulover Park. A fixed bridge carries State Road A1A across the inlet. The name has appeared on maps as early as 1823. There is a State of Florida Historical Landmark Marker (over 50 years old) at the original Lighthouse Dock site dedicated on February 21, 2004, to the first charter-boat captains at the 1926–1951 dock. It is the only marker in the State of Florida for a fishing dock.

Bay Harbor Islands is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The city is part of the Miami metropolitan area of South Florida. It is separated from the mainland by Biscayne Bay. The population was 5,922 at the 2020 US census.
