Dickinson is a town in Broome County, New York, United States. The population was 5,083 at the 2020 census. The town was named after Daniel S. Dickinson. The town is adjacent to Binghamton and forms a suburb to that city.

SUNY Broome Community College (BCC or SUNY Broome) is a public community college in Broome County, New York. It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY). The college was founded in 1946 and has gone through several name changes. The school is located in the Town of Dickinson, just north of the City of Binghamton, New York. The college had a 2010 enrollment of over 6,000 students and has alumni of over 41,000. SUNY Broome serves students from a single campus on Upper Front Street in Dickinson, New York, though some classes are taught in Waverly, Owego, and within the City of Binghamton at smaller classroom centers. The campus' fifteen buildings comprise 610,000 square feet (57,000 m2) of space and feature athletic facilities such as baseball fields, soccer field, publicly accessible tennis courts, the Dick Baldwin Gym, named after the third winningest college basketball coach across both two- and four-year colleges, and the SUNY Broome Ice Center - a 758 seat hockey arena that is used by a variety of different local ice hockey & figure skating organizations throughout the community. There is also a theater which hosts campus performances of plays and other theatrical work, titled The Little Theater.

Lithuanian National Association Hall, also known as the Tri-Cities Opera, is a historic clubhouse located at Binghamton, Broome County, New York. It was built in 1917, is a two-story, steel and timber frame building with a flat roof, clad in yellow brick. It features a broad central Romanesque arch on the second floor. The building measures approximately 50 feet wide by approximately 115 feet deep. The building housed the Lithuanian National Association until 1964, when it was sold to the Tri-Cities Opera.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Endicott-Johnson Medical Clinic, also known as the Wilson Hospital Annex, is a historic hospital building located at Binghamton, Broome County, New York. It was built in 1928 by the Endicott Johnson Corporation as a part of its "Square Deal" program. It is a two-story, T-shaped steel frame building with a flat roof, clad in red brick. It has a projecting central section that is four bays wide and a one-story enclosed portico. It was sold in 1946 to the Wilson Memorial Hospital and used as an annex. In 1967, it was purchased by New York State for use as a day care center for the Binghamton Psychiatric Center.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

General Cigar Company–Ansco Camera Factory Building, also known as Agfa-Ansco, General Aniline and Film (GAF), and Anitec, is a historic factory complex located at Binghamton, Broome County, New York. It was originally built in 1927-1928 for the General Cigar Company; Ansco purchased the factory in 1937. The factory building is a four-story brick building with basement, five bays wide and 20 bays long. It has an intersecting four-story wing and two-story addition constructed in 1950. The building measures approximately 62 feet wide and 402 feet long. The powerhouse is a one-story, steel frame and brick building measuring 36 feet wide and 52 feet long. The buildings housed manufacturing operations of Ansco for cameras and photographic equipment. The factory closed in 1977.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

C. Fred Johnson Park Carousel is a historic carousel located at Johnson City in Broome County, New York. The carousel and its pavilion were built in 1923. The carousel is housed in a wooden, two story, 18-sided, enclosed pavilion topped by a six sided cupola. The carousel has 72 figures - all horses - each of which is a "jumper." It was constructed by the Allan Herschell Company. It is one of six carousels donated to the citizens of Broome County by George F. Johnson (1857–1948), president of Endicott Johnson Corporation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.Other carousels located in the Greater Binghamton Region: George F. Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is a 197 bed community hospital in Binghamton, New York, United States. In 1983, the hospital was selected by the US Federal Government to take part in a national cancer research project. In 2006, a flood cost the hospital several million dollars in damages.In 2016, the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services released the first round of the Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating. Our Lady of Lourdes received one star, and in 2019, received three stars. In 2016, Loudes Hospital also became a certified member of the MD Anderson Cancer Network.In 2017, Lourdes was granted a three-year/full accreditation designation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).In 2018, Lourdes was ranked as the 21st best hospital in New York according to the U.S. News Best Hospitals specialty rankings.

Endicott Square Deal Arch is an historic "welcome arch" located at Endicott in Broome County, New York. It is one of two identical arches erected in 1920 in Endicott and in nearby Johnson City, known as the Johnson City Square Deal Arch. . It was constructed by Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company employees to honor George F. Johnson (1857–1948), their highly respected employer and benefactor.In 1995 the arch was dismantled and rebuilt with additional materials to increase clearance and span a widened Main Street.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Ansco Company Charles Street Factory Buildings, also known as Agfa-Ansco, General Aniline and Film (GAF), and Anitec, is a historic factory complex located at Binghamton, Broome County, New York. They are two early factory buildings built in 1910–1911, and a warehouse built in 1953–1954. The larger building measures approximately 45 feet wide and 230 feet long. It is a three-story, rectangular brick heavy timber frame building. The powerhouse is a two-story, reinforced concrete and steel brick building measuring 60 feet square. The buildings housed manufacturing operations of Ansco for photographic paper.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

The West Side, as the name implies, is a neighborhood in the western section of the New York State city of Binghamton. It is primarily an urban residential neighborhood with retail along Main Street and pockets of industrial buildings along the train tracks. The West Side, can be defined as encompassing the area north of the Susquehanna River, east of the neighboring village of Johnson City along Margaret Street and Floral Avenue, west of the Chenango River and south of the Norfolk Southern tracks. The area's "main drag" is Main Street which carries NY-17C. It runs from the foot of the Court Street Bridge west and into Johnson City. It is lined with retail, consisting of several large supermarkets, churches, pharmacies, bank branches, a few bars and restaurants as well as a few mom and pop shops. Other important streets in the neighborhood are Riverside Drive, Front Street which carries US-11, Leroy Street, Grand Boulevard and Floral Avenue. The West Side is home to Lourdes Memorial Hospital, Recreation Park, Binghamton High School, Seton Catholic Central, and St. Patrick's Church. Recreation Park and the area south of it are part of the Abel Bennett Tract Historic District. The American Civic Association, on Front Street, was the site of the Binghamton shooting, where 13 people were killed by a shooter before he committed suicide. Apart from commercial Main Street and some industrial buildings one block north of it along the Norfolk Southern tracks, the West Side of Binghamton is primarily an urban residential neighborhood. The housing stock ranges from small to large, detached, single and double-family houses to attached row-houses and larger apartment buildings. Generally, the area south of Main Street towards Riverside Drive and the Susquehanna River is inhabited mainly by people of lower middle to upper-class. The area north of Main Street is inhabited by people of a lower income. Many college students also live in the area south of Main Street near/around Recreation Park.

Your Home Public Library is a historic library building located at Johnson City in Broome County, New York. It is a Late Victorian style building built as a residence in 1885 and converted for use as a library in 1917. The original section of the building is two and one half stories and constructed of brick with a stone foundation, concrete and cast stone water tables, sills, lintels, and band courses. The design features projecting and recessed pavilions, a complex multi-gabled roof, a projecting dormer, and a turret with conical roof and tall weathervane. A large wing was added in 1920. Your Home Library was developed by Harry L. Johnson, brother of George F. Johnson (1857–1948), founder of Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

The Broome County Alms House, was located in the town of Dickinson, three miles north of Binghamton in Broome county, New York. The red brick building operated as a shelter for the poor, take care of the sick, disabled, mentally unwell, widowed, and orphaned persons in the community until c. 1960. The goal of the almshouse was to both help break the cycle of poverty and to care for members of the community who had no means of caring take of themselves. The building was demolished on February 5, 2010.
