Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP) is an ammunition manufacturing complex for the U.S. military with facilities located in Pulaski and Montgomery Counties, Virginia. The primary mission of the RFAAP is to manufacture propellants and explosives in support of field artillery, air defense, tank, missile, aircraft, and naval weapons systems. As of 2011 RFAAP is operated by BAE Systems under contract to the US Army Joint Munitions Command. The current Commander for the Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RAAP) is LTC Russell A. Jones.

Prices Fork Historic District is a national historic district located at Prices Fork, Montgomery County, Virginia. The district encompasses 13 contributing buildings in the village of Prices Fork. It includes a variety of vernacular residential, commercial, and institutional buildings dating to the 19th century. Notable buildings include the James Bain Price House (1871), Price Store (1871), Prices Fork Methodist Church, and St. Marks Lutheran Church (1877).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, and increased in size in 2014.The Price Family Historical Society preserves records for members of the Price Family who have settled in the area.

Prices Fork is a small traditionally agricultural census-designated place (CDP), in Montgomery County, Virginia, United States. The population as of the 2010 Census was 1,066. It is located about three miles west of Blacksburg and the campus of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). The community is a part of the Blacksburg–Christiansburg metropolitan area which encompasses all of Montgomery County and the cities of Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Radford for statistical purposes. Prices Fork was named in honor of the local Price, or Preisch, family.Prices Fork has one church (Prices Fork United Methodist Church), a Grange Hall and an elementary school (grades pre-K through 5th grade). Several structures in the community are designated as historical structures. The Prices Fork Historic District, Evans House No. 2, Joseph McDonald Farm, and Adam Wall House are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.The old Prices Fork Elementary School has been renovated and now includes mixed-income apartments, a restaurant, a brewery and a shared-use kitchen.

WBRW (105.3 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Blacksburg, Virginia, and serving the New River Valley and part of the Roanoke metropolitan area. It broadcasts an active rock radio format known as "The Bear." It is owned by Monticello Media LLC, with radio studios and offices on Lee Highway (U.S. Route 11) in Radford. WBRW carries the nationally syndicated drive time show, Rover's Morning Glory from WMMS Cleveland. It also carries Virginia Tech Hokies football games. WBRW has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 12,000 watts. The transmitter is on Stroubles Creek Road in Blacksburg.

Vicker is located along the Norfolk Southern Christiansburg district rail line located 5 miles (8.0 km) west-northwest of Christiansburg. Vicker was named in honor of the Vickers, or Vicars, family of pioneer settlers.The Hornbarger Store was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Kentland Farm Historic and Archeological District is a historic home, archaeological site, and national historic district located near Blacksburg, Montgomery County, Virginia. The district encompasses a complex of 19th century agricultural outbuildings associated with a Federal and Greek Revival style brick dwelling built 1834–1835. Located in the district are significant archaeological resources that include a complex of Late Woodland village or camp sites.

Hornbarger Store is a historic general store located at Vicker, Montgomery County, Virginia. It was built in 1910–1911, and is a two-story, three-bay, rectangular brick commercial building. It has a parapet shed roof, segmentally arched one-over-one double-hung sash windows, and wood bracketed cornices. Also on the property is a contributing board-and-batten hipped roof outbuilding.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Walnut Spring is a historic home located near Kanodes Mill, Montgomery County, Virginia. The house is a large, two-story, gable-roofed, dwelling with a single pile central passage plan. It was built in the period 1830–1865. It has a long appendage to the rear made up of connected outbuildings. It features gable ends finished with tapered rake boards with decorative sawn ends and a box cornice detailed with a simple flat, stepped, or corbeled form.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
